As I lay here in this hospital bed fighting for my life. I feel my life slowly fading. The fight is over. I lost so much and gained little. You, ever feel like there is no way out? Did you ever feel like there is a black cloud over your whole life?
Close your eyes and picture yourself in a room that is on fire. Picture the fire igniting, and you're trying to escape. You try the door but, the fire is spreading so wildly. The door handle is too hot to touch. Just like traumatic stress in your life, that is too hard to cope. Instead of dealing with it. You run from your problems. You think the window is a way to escape this fire. You meet a man and think this is your peace. The window does not open. The man physically and mentally abuses you. The fire is getting wilder. You are coughing. You can’t breathe. Just like a man controlling your life. You are starting to lose your vision. Just like when you are in abusive and/or toxic relationship. You are blinded by love.
The room is burning. There is no way out! You smell your flesh burning. You ever got your heart broken? It feels like the end of the world. It feels like you will never get over this heartbreak. Asphyxiation…deprived of oxygen. Just like I was deprived of a chance at a normal life. I am Kadejah Jones and this is my story!
