Actually 3.5 stars
The beginning of Finding Rowena plunges the reader into the story as if you already know the characters. I actually took the time to stop and see if this series was a spin-off of something else I should read first. So it was confusing at the beginning. But the writing is good, and the characters are compelling. I liked the relationship between Rowena and husband Octavius, and the relationship between her and her newly discovered sisters. If the beginning had been better, this might have been a 4.5-5 star read.

On balance Finding Rowena is an engaging and enjoyable read and one that I recommend if your looking for a lighter BDSM/ DD read. The characters are likeable, Rowena and Octavius are already a couple so whilst there wasn't so much of a romance there is plenty of steam both BDSM and discipline wise. The pace was good and there are some great supporting characters.
There were a few minor issues that meant I wasn't able to rate this any higher than "liked it". The first is that it felt as if I'd arrived in the middle of a story or series of books, characters and situations were spoken about as though I already had knowledge of them. This proved to be quite distracting at times and left me floundering a little.
The book also felt a little more tell than show. Since Octavius/O/Bear/Daddy (perhaps one name would have been sufficient?) and Ro were already in a dynamic and married this didn't prove too much of an issue in terms of believing in their relationship. However it DID impact on what felt like a very abrupt and slightly out of left field decision at the end. Because we didn't hear their 'mental thought processes' it felt like choices and actions came out of nowhere.
The final thing was that I wasn't quite sure what the actual main focus of the book was, which also played into me being a little surprised by the ending. I thought the story was heading somewhere else altogether! There are quite a few loose ends left at the end of this book, which I assume will be picked up and form part of both Teagan and Evelyn's stories.
I liked this enough that I do intend to continue reading about them all.

Finding Rowena is an amazing story that captivated my attention from page one and I could not put it down until I was finished. Rowena's personality has many sides combined to create an endearing character. As a woman she feels an intense chemistry with her husband Octavius. However, the trusting and naïve little girl deep inside craves Octavius' attention, protection and discipline. Yet there is also a strong professional inside her that will fight for those who need her help. Overall, she seems to have everything except what she doesn't know exists. Octavius loves Rowena deeply which shows in the many times he holds her, protects her, disciplines her, and by sharing many wonderful moments that only bring them closer together. However, Octavius is quite strict and will discipline the woman he loves every time she crosses that line. The secondary characters brought with them a special dynamic of its own. Octavius along with Luca and Jason share a brother like love and will protect each other and the women at any costs. Their friendship and dominant nature forms a circle around those they care for. Combine this with the feisty, independent, fun, loving women and the story is a 5 star hit. With plenty of hot sex, spankings, tears, laughs, and surprises around a few corners this is a can't miss story. The only thing I regret with this book is that it ended. I highly recommend this book for an amazing read! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.

This was better than I thought it would be. Though this might seem as though I'm damning with faint praise, given that I didn't finish Fire Princess because of its glorification of sexual harassment in the work place, these 2 stars are a vast improvement.
I appreciated the following:
1) The interesting premise of this book (long-lost triplets are reunited);
2) That the three women were depicted as very different (certainly more so than the SEAL men, who come across as interchangeable here) and that their conflicts grew organically out of those differences;
3) That the DD relationship was consensual and that Rowena had a safe word ("She knew the second she broached the subject, and he was sure she wasn't in any medical or emotional danger, he was going to step right up to the plate");
4) That Octavius clearly adored his wife (for my caveat to this, see below) -- Octavius and Rowena: the author must love pre-modern culture;
5) The naturalness of the dialogue;
6) That Rowena was no doormat and spoke up to Octavius when she needed to (when she insisted on helping to find the child and when she wouldn't let him interfere with her relationship with her new-found siblings).
I didn't appreciate:
1) Rowena's connecting her worth as a human being to her reproductive capabilities ();
2) Octavius' insistence that spanking/caning Rowena for disobeying him was more important than her recent discovery that Evelyn might be her sister or that she was trying to save a child in danger, which gave me the impression that the lifestyle mattered more to him than she did (sometimes I wonder if authors really think about what they write). And his concerns about language and safety were so over the top (seriously, he punishes her for accidentally knocking over a lamp because it's "dangerous"?) that in Rowena's position, I would have felt that I couldn't breathe;
3) The abruptness of the ending.
In terms of writing mechanics and plot, this book is very choppy with several editing errors: transitions between scenes are so sudden, with no explanation of where the characters now are -- logistically and chronologically -- that I had to read several sentences more than once. In addition, I was often confused as to who was speaking since the author does not label much of her dialogue. Finally, you need to suspend a lot of disbelief that in our hyper-media age Evelyn could keep her .
TBH, though this book drew me in, I don't know if I'll read the next two books. (Note: The below contains spoilers for this and other books; please don't read further if this is a problem.) I have a lot of concerns regarding how Evelyn's will be handled by the next two authors in this series. Though I don't know which author will write the next story, I've read books by both Stella Moore and RJ Gray in the past, and neither author gives me confidence that she will address this topic with the sensitivity and respect it deserves. In Healing Fears, Ms. Moore gives us Paul, who worries that the DD relationship he has with his wife is really abuse. Now, certainly I appreciated that this was one of the few books in this genre to actually entertain what is a real possibility (anyone who says that domestic discipline will never lead to domestic violence is a huge danger to any of their readers: given that one in four women and one in nine men experience some form of partner violence, what makes you think that dd relationships are that different in this respect from vanilla ones?). But, the central irony in that book is that Paul really is an abuser: at the end, he punishes Elisa very harshly -- it was unbelievable that he didn't injure her -- even though their problems are entirely his fault.
RJ Gray is equally problematic. Though she claims to be in a dd marriage, none of her books addresses the safety measures most dd relationships have: there are no safewords, the consent is of the arm-twisting, it's-my-way-or-the-highway variety, and no discussion of limits or rules occurs: the H's simply just decide unilaterally when, how, and for what the h's will be punished for; newsflash: it doesn't work that way. Given that Ms. Gray actually made fun of safe words in Super Daddies: A Naughty Nerdy Romantic Comedy Anthology, I have a lot of trepidation that she will do something similar here.
All I can say is: authors, given the statistics regarding domestic violence, it is highly likely that a proportion of your readers has experienced intimate partner violence. Safewords, consent, contracts, negotiation, mutually discussed and agreed upon rules, limits are, quite frankly, the ONLY things (morally and ethically, though not necessarily legally) that separate domestic violence from domestic discipline and BDSM. Please prove me wrong and treat that topic responsibly.

Finding Rowena (Missing Pieces Book 1) by Rachel Blake is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series writen by a brand new author for me to read. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about contemporary romances.

Fun and cute story
Ro finds out she has sisters totally by accident and wants to build a relationship with them. This story shows her growing relationship with them and her husband. I sometimes feel like I was missing a piece of the story, but still enjoyed the book enough to read the next one. Borrowed with ku.

I loved the concept of this story, and Ms. Rachel Blake did an amazing job of introducing her main characters and then bringing in the two other sisters. My heart breaks for these three girls who were given up shortly after birth—but more at the tragedy of them being separated. While they are identical triplets, they were each brought up in different ways, and how they react to things, including each other, is evident in each girl. But this will be more of the overall stories.
Rowena Gypsy Erikson is married to Octavia, sometimes called O or Oct, but for Rowena, he is also Daddy. Rowena was raised by free spirit parents, and her mother refers to Mother Earth in so much of her speech. The Eriksons, along with several other former Navy men have their own security firm that Ro also participates in, S.E.A.L.–Security Enforcement and Logistical Services.
The plot will have a shocking discovery when O and the team are working for one of their largest clients, the newly elected governor of Oregon. Ro will be watching television when Branson brings out Evelyn Berkshire, and she and Rowena look alike—but then when she goes to meet her—another surprise will bring Teagan Smith—not twins, but triplets, all born on June 13th. How will the three girls react to each other? Is this something they want, or will they withdrawal?
“That is what I love about you. Your optimism is always at the forefront, but that optimism also has the potential to crush you. You have to realize that you guys were separated. You didn’t grow up together. You share the same DNA, yes, but you don’t have the same history. Each of your stories are different, and because of that, you have a bit of a learning curve with each other.”
The story is the journey as Rowena, Teagan, and Evelyn get to know each other, what their childhood was like, what their expectations were, and where they are now in present-day life. It is full of mystery, suspense, secrets, and hidden danger. While they are triplets, they each have a different personality, Rowena is a free-spirit, Teagan is hardnosed, and Evelyn is straight-laced. Together, they share things about themselves, which will include Rowena explaining the D/s DD lifestyle that the Erikson’s practice. How will her sisters react to knowing that her husband spanks her?
The story has explicit scenes between Rowena and Octavia, including power exchange, BDSM, spankings, use of implements, and sex scenes. While what goes on between them is private, it isn’t unknown to his men or now her sisters. The dynamics of their relationship include the mindset of age-play talk of Daddy and little girl.
Rowena invites her siblings to Thanksgiving, and even her mother is shocked that she didn’t sense or know about the other girls—how she would have gladly taken them too.

December 4, 2019Rowena is a talented young lady who was adopted by loving people the Rosenblooms and she was home schooled until she got in high school. She became and environmental lawyer and she was married to her loving husband Octavius Erickson. O as Octavius was called belong to this security Agency called S.E.A.L. Their agency was headed Luca and Jason and O were part of the agency. O was a retired Navy Seal. They had a dog named trident who was a retired dog from the service and now was part of their agency. Ro happened to see this women who looked like her on TV. It seems that she had happened about her siblings by mistake and she found out that she had a sister named Evelyn who had been adopted by a family the Berkshires' and then their was Tegan her other sibling who was never adopted so she went from foster home to foster home, but she had become a cop. They were all identical so their was triplets who had been left at a firehouse and none of them knew about each other until their sister Evelyn who was engaged to the governor elect of Oregon appeared at his side while he gave a speech and asked her to marry him. The story is mainly written with the most loving one, Rowena trying to get to know her siblings and eventually they all formed a tie because they were identical triplets and were all raised differently. It was a pretty good story it had issues of infertility within the story and abusive relationships and of course BDSM, which happened to be the most loving one and the one Rowena was involved with her husband and Dom Octavius. I thought it was pretty good. It probably should have a part two to see what happens with her two sisters Evelyn and Tegan.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Enjoyable!

I enjoyed this book immensely, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. I adored Rowena and her relationship with her husband Octavius aka Bear, there is great chemistry between them and their love life is a spicy Daddy Dom/submissive type. There is some light BDSM in the book all tastefully done. I loved the originality of the triplets storyline and how they are getting to know each other and finding out what their circumstances were and are in current day. The author fit an impressive amount of story into this book, it is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment, with plenty of drama, some humor, a touch of angst, some heartfelt moments and some hot ones. I am looking forward to what comes next in this series, I hope it comes to Audible soon. Rachel Blake, thank you for this awesome story.

She did a great job portraying the characters, bringing each to life with their own voice and personality making it easy to follow them. What a wonderful start too a new series by Ms Blake.It stirred my imagination.Made me laugh.
Made me cry.I loved the easy dialogue and sassy banter between Rowena and Octavius.She
was such a free spirit and he was a alpha-male personified.Trouble followed Rowena every step
she took, but she was no match for her heavy, handed husband.
Rowena was abandoned at birth and had a carefree and happy childhood.She adored Octavius
but was unable to give him what they desire the most.Disappointment and despair saw her
putting her dreams on hold.Rowena was shocked when she saw a identical image of herself
on TV.The surprises did not stop there as she found out she was one of identical triplets. Her
sisters initial reactions were not what she expected, and the hope for a relationship seemed
bleak.
The plot covers sensitive issues such as domestic violence and infertility.I was captivated by
the weight of emotions throughout this story.The vulnerability that plagued Rowena at times
was heartbreaking.This was a fast paced,engaging story from start to finish.The only negative
i found was the abrupt ending.

This book could also be titled Finding Rowena’s Family, as that is one of the principal plot lines of the story. Rowena knew she was adopted as an infant and grew up believing she was an only child. She is thrilled when she first discovers that she has a twin, and then she is even more shocked (and excited) to find out she is actually one of a set of triplets! Each one had a very different upbringing resulting in radically different temperaments and beliefs. Rowena is very happy in her DD lifestyle and is very open about it. The other sisters are initially shocked, but come to accept it. This is a very fast paced story with many emotional ups and downs. There is action, angst, nurturing, sharing, sadness and humor, as well as numerous spankings (of Rowena) and spicy sex. Quite simply there is a little something for everyone’s tastes. It is also a lovely set up for a series, with future books sure to focus on each of the other sisters (Teagan and Evelyn) and the S.E.A. L.’s. 4 Stars.

The premise for this series is an immediate draw, and this first in series doesn’t disappoint at all. Ro has to be one of the most appealing characters I’ve read, possibly ever. We get tantalizing glimpses into the other triplets’ stories, and there is going to be heartache, albeit of different kinds, in both Teagan’s story and Evie’s. I can’t wait for more of these sisters, nor to see their happily ever afters – with dominant, rather than abusive, men. And I want to see Ro and her Bear have their much-wanted child – however that child becomes theirs.

I loved this introduction to the series. Rowena is a hippie, fun loving, huge hearted sweetheart married to an ex SEAL named Octavius. He runs a security company with some friends. Who would've thought their latest gig would change Ro's entire world. While working for the governor elect, who is extremely private Octavius and his guys see the mans girlfriend for the first time. All of them did a double take upon seeing her as she is quite literally Ro's double! As his wife was adopted after being left on the steps of a firehouse, she'd no clue about her birth family. This was about to get very interesting.... Especially upon learning there's not two, but THREE identical sisters! Can Ro gain the family she's always wanted, or will she have to fight for it! I can't wait to read the others in this series as each sister are amazing on their own. I look forward to learning more about them and their developing sisterhood.

I can't even begin to say how much I loved this book. Rowena and Octavius are a very happily married couple when suddenly, Ro finds out she is one of triplet sisters. What follows is a journey for Rowena as her and her sisters try to forge a sibling relationship. There are tears of joy and happiness but there are also some tears of sadness. The emotions came through strong in this book and I honestly can't wait to read Teagan and Evie's stories. Octavius is a guy that is easy to fall for! Strong, dominant and you can feel how much he loves his wife. His friends are all great too and I have a feeling we will see them paired up with the other two sisters. I laughed, I got ticked off, I cheered and I cried. Can't really say much because I don't want to put any spoilers up but this is going to be a book I read several times over. Now I'm eagerly waiting for the next sister's story.

Oh my word I LOVED this book it's the first I've read by this author & I'm hooked. This is such a wonderful story I couldn't put it down, the characters are all amazing. The love O & Ro's different aspects of their relationship being friends, husband/wife, lovers, dom/sub they are just beautiful together & they have you laughing, she's sassy & cute but then have you tearing up over the loss of their babies. Their friends Luca & Jason are also protective of Ro & the dinamic they all have is serious but also hilarious then throw in Ro's long lost triplet sisters on the mix & it entertainment, drama overload each different but also similar. I've not been excited like this for a while about wanting to read the next part of the story & how the other relationships work out.

This was a fun start to a new series. Rowena is seemingly happy in her new life. Adopted by nice parents, she has no clue of her multiple siblings until a chance encounter throws them all together. I loved the different personalities of the three women and can't wait to read more from the other characters. Octavius and his crew were likeable as well... A perfect blend of stern and kind. The mix of adventure, family drama and romance was nice, and kept things interesting. Now to patiently wait for the next two books.

This book is most definitely part of a series. Even though it’s tagged as being book one of a new series, the way it started made me wonder if I’d missed a prequel or something. A lot like the old: “we now rejoin our regularly scheduled programming already in progress”. And the ending is very abrupt. I felt like it stopped with the thought only partly complete. However, everything that happened in the middle was fantastic. The story is compelling, filled with lots of emotion and humor. I’m already half in love with these characters and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

What a surprise to find out she has not one sibling but two out in the world......and they are her identicals, she is one part of three in a set of triplets. Wow is all I can say
Finding Rowena is the first book in the new Missing Pieces series by Rachel Blake. I have read the three books in her previous series and enjoyed each of them so I was expecting the same when I picked up this one. I was not disappointed as I really enjoyed adored this first book in the series and the way the story is set-up for the other two books. Let's just say that what Rowena discovers would blow any woman's mind and put her into counseling for years. But it also brings new hope, love and not feeling quite so untethered.

Octavius (really???) and Rowena are married. They are in the lifestyle and practice domestic discipline. When Rowena sees Evelyn on TV, she realizes that she has a sibling. She sets up a meeting and Teagan, the third sister is there as well. That's when they realize they are identical triplets. I loved the premise and I can't wait to read the other two books! Rowena and her husband, security expert O, have a beautiful D/S relationship. She and her Sir/Daddy are very happy. Then, they realize that adopted Ro has siblings. Two sister and they are triplets. This sets off the story and it is a good one. As different as chalk and cheese, but still alike, they have to learn each other. A good spanking story. Can't wait to read their stories.

Loved this story of finding lost siblings and reconnecting. This story deals with abandonment, adoption, fostercare issues, abuse, power exchange, strong men and the strong in dependant women in their lives.

This was definitely a different take on a Daddy/Little Girl story. Most stories in this genre have a little girl in search of a Daddy, and the story is limited to their journey. I enjoyed that this book included Rowena's sisters and that there was more than just a superficial take on her journey. It was really good and it was very very well- written.

Rowena was adopted as an infant and had a happy life. She is married to a sexy dominant, Octavius and they are very happy together. She has always wondered about her biological family and is shocked to learn that she has two identical sisters. However, the family she imagined is very different then the truth. Will her and her sisters be able to forge a bond after growing up so differently? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and emotion. Entertaining and steamy. I liked it.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Rowena was born one of the triplets, her other two sisters were separated at birth as well. Rowena is married to Octavia who is dominant alpha male that likes to be called daddy. Rowena wanted to find her real parents that is when she meets her sisters.

This was a really fun story. I love the relationship between Rowena and Octavius. The author does a great job of showing the love and playfulness of the dynamic. I especially love that there was no angst or embarassment. Rowena loves her life and embraces it fully. I do wish we could have gotten a little more backstory on the couple and more detail in the overall story. Because it was such a short read it felt a little rushed and disjointed at times. I look forward to Teagan's story.

Finding out there are beautiful women who are triplets and not known about each other is a shock. This funny, sexy story is a great read.

This is an interesting plot and a little bit different. The story moves along at a nice steady pace as everything is unraveled and revealed. The characters are wonderful, the men are dominant, and the women are feisty. A really great story and it has me looking forward to the rest of the series.

A touching and very sexy storyline
When three sisters, triplets separated shortly after birth are reunited and begin to learn about each other's lives. Each woman has tragedy laced through her past and the relationship with men is anything but ordinary. This is truly a unique treatment of the genre. I highly recommend it.
