There's a new tenant in the old Harlow manor, and she is intent on making life difficult for Angie and the gang. But when happens when the cranky old lady who lives on the other side of the trees turns up dead in the garden?
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Angi just wants to plan for her wedding, but when a new neighbor dies she doesn’t believe it was an accident. With the aid of her furry partners and a new antlered friend Angi is off on another adventure.
Angie and Octo-Cat are back in action again, and this time the trouble is in their own back yard… Or at least their neighbor’s. This turned into a rather different story than it started out being, but I think that’s one of the things I liked best about it: it successfully kept me guessing. I’m also still guessing what’s going to happen next with the sinister seagull. I can’t wait to read it when we get the chance. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
I enjoyed this book, however I didn't think Octo-cat played a big enough part for me to give it a five star, the main reason I love reading this series is to see what nightmares the grumpy cat is putting his own through. In fact I think Paisley (the dog) and even Pringle (the raccoon) played a bigger role. Don't get me wrong he is still grumpy, demanding and does give a helping hand or should that be paw, just not as much as usual. Otherwise the characters are once again interesting, especially the introduction of more animals to help with the case. The mystery wasn't taxing with lots of names to workout and remember, which means few suspects but it is the whole questioning and making deals with the animals that keep it entertaining, especially as nobody thought she had a case to investigate. Looking forward to the wedding in the next book and the chaos the animals cause. Angie is excited to finally have a new neighbour move into the house next door, that is until she calls animal control on her several times during the first week. Angie isn't surprised one evening to find police cars in her neighbours driveway. Instead of waiting for them to come to her door she goes over first, only to discover her dead and a stag tangled up in crime scene tape. If Angie can get close enough to the stag maybe she can discover who killed the detested woman. The police think it was an accident, so it's up to Angie and her band of animal sleuths to find out who would want her dead, other than Angie. If 💖 cats, dogs, and a little wildlife and enjoy a story that makes you laugh, this is it!
DEER DUPLICITY by Molly Fitz is the fifteenth installment in her Pet Whisperer PI series. This is a fun and we'll written cozy mystery that kept me turning pages. The twist is that the main character, following an accident, can talk to animals -- Stop, don't leave, it really works. It's a quick and fun read that will make you smile and possibly even laugh out loud.
We're back in Blueberry Bay, Maine and Angie Russo is supposed to be working on her final wedding planning projects, but plans change. This time the trouble is in their own back yard, or at least their neighbor’s. The grumpy new neighbor quickly developed a dislike to everyone, including Octo-Cat, Paisley the chihuahua, and Pringle the raccoon. Returning home one night, Angie notices lights and police cars at her neighbors house, her neighbor is dead. The police say it’s an accident, but as usual Angie isn't sure, something doesn't feel right. It keeps troubling Angie and before you know it she's in full investigative mode. The key witness will surprise you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this well written cozy mystery full of endearing animal antics. I recommend all of Molly Fitz's stories to animal lovers and murder mystery fans, alike.

Deer Duplicity by Molly Fitz is book #15 of Pet Whisperer P.I. What a cute little novella. I love all the interaction between Angie and her pets Octo-Cat- the grumpy cat, Paisley, G’ma Nan’s dog & Pringle the raccoon. She has the ability to talk to animals which makes for a charming story. This delightful book is a quick, feel-good read. This is the first book I have read in this series, but I now want to start at the beginning and read every one of them.
The animals, who normally have the run of the neighborhood are quite upset when a crotchety old lady moves in next door, and they end up having to be kept inside. Animal control and the police have been summoned several times, in the first week alone, by the new neighbor with complaints about her animals. Angie came home from a date with her fiancé to find the neighbors place filled with cops. She went over to see what was happening and found out her neighbor was dead. The police say it’s an accident, but Angie is sure there is a murder to be investigated. I thoroughly enjoyed this well written cozy mystery full of endearing animal antics.
Angie Russo can talk to animals. She used to work as a paralegal in the same firm as her fiancée Charles, which is where she met Octo-cat. She and Octo-cat solved his previous owner’s murder. Now she lives in October-cat’s mansion with her nan and has met her other grandma who has the same ability. Her nan has a Chihuahua named Paisley and Angie is planning her wedding as well as running Pet Whisperer PI. There is also a raccoon that lives out back, Pringle. The raccoon loves old black and white gumshoe shows. Too funny!
Angie gets a new neighbor lady. Omg the mischief and mayhem caused by those animals. Even tho the neighbor lady was driving them nuts she had a tragic end. The antics of the animals throughout the book caused me to laugh so loud my dad came in and I had to summarize everything. He said, that book is right up your alley. Lol.
I enjoyed the book and now I’ll add it to my author list.

This is a fun story for those who love animals. Angie Russo has the unusual ability to actually talk to the animals. Sometimes that can expedite things, but sometimes it makes things more complicated. When a grouchy old woman named Angela Miller becomes Angie’s neighbor, the animals find themselves having to stay inside or risk the woman calling animal control or filing a complaint with the police.
So when Angie came home and sees the police next door, she learns that her neighbor is dead. While Angie is convinced this was a murder, and her issues with the woman would make her a definite person-of-interest, the police say it was an accident. A buck named Irving, frightened when the crime scene tape got tangled up in his antlers, might have seen what occurred. Can she find him to ask what he knows? Pringle the raccoon thinks he can help with that – but will he only make matters worse? And why is Octo-Cat being so difficult about this? Can Angie figure out what happened? And what if the truth points her in another direction?
DEER DUPLICITY is the sixteenth book in the Pet Whisperer P.I. series. These will best be understood if read in the order of release.
When the new neighbor upsets the neighborhood, it’s aggravating for Octocat, Pringle, and Paisley to be confined to the house. However, when that neighbor winds up dead, things go from bad to worse! That’s when Angie and her menagerie of adorable private investigators begin once again to sleuth close to home.
This story is a quick, charming, feel-good, cozy mystery to lighten any dreary afternoon. I love this series and look forward to every installment I can get my hands on to read.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via BookSprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: DEER DUPLICITY Series: Pet Whisperer P.I. #14 Category /Genre: Paranormal Cozy Mystery Recommended for: 14+ Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Melissa Storm
Angie and Charles are getting married soon so she has stepped away from the PI business for a while. Fate had other ideas! A new neighbor has moved in next door. Attempts at welcoming her to the neighborhood are met with hostility. In fact, she calls Animal Control and the police almost daily on Angie and her pets. Unfortunately, she is found dead in her backyard. Afraid she is going to be accused of murder, Angie, with the help of Octo-cat, her grandmother’s dog Paisley, and the resident raccoon Pringle, jumps in to find out what happened. This series is so much fun for a relaxing read. Angie’s ability to talk to animals provides more than a few laughs. Hopefully the next book in the series is coming out soon!

Molly Fitz has once again come through with a cute Pet Whisperer story. A fun read with the animals that Angie can talk to after being shocked by a shorted electrical wire. She always gets involved with a murder and this is no exception. A nasty old lady moved in next door and called the cops on Angie several times because her cat and dog ventured into her yard. But when she ended up dead with a sack of deer feed on top of her, it was ruled an accident but was it. Will Angie ever get everything done including getting prepared for her upcoming wedding to Charles.

Can't wait to see if Angie's wedding goes through without problems. All Angie wanted to do was welcome her new neighbor. All she got was a lot of grief from the woman. Then the woman was gone, dead. Angie is sure she was murdered, but the police say it was an accident. Angie has to talk to a frightened deer, but Pringle gets to him first. Pringle has been watching too many old movies and is a little heavy handed. With the help of Octo cat, she investigates. Was the woman murdered, or was it just an accident?
Angie and Octo-Cat are at it again! The empty house next door is barely filled again when the neighbor turns up dead. Is it murder or an accident like the police say?
In order to find out the truth Angie and Octo-Cat team up together along with the many other animals she has spoken with over the course of her Pet Whisperer Detective Agency.
Her neighbor is dead, there are clues to find and people and animals to interview. Enjoy the book and she converses with her pets and other animals and discovers the truth of the murder and who did it to her neighbor!
This is such a cute, funny book. I love the angle of using the animals as main characters in the story. Octo-cat is a trip, acting like he is royalty and loves his British channel, drinking his special water in a tea cup. Then you have Pringle a small dog who gets picked on all the time by the trash panda.. Angela doesn't believe it was an accidental death of the neighbor lady, so she is now on a mission to solve this, instead of working on her wedding. This is one that I would say is a must read.

I am so glad to have the next book in this series. I miss Octo-cat, Paisley & Pringle. Angie is so fortunate to have a new neighbor, she thinks, until they meet the first time. This neighbor is a grouch personified & a constant complainer about Angie's pets. Pringle is his usual thorn in the side. Paisley is the dog to the rescue in solving this murder mystery. I received a copy through Book Sprout. This is my voluntary review.
Angie is planning her wedding, a neighbor turns up dead, and her key witness is too scared to talk. What else could go wrong? I would love to be able to talk to animals. This story however made me want to strangle Pringle but he does redeem himself in the end. i have loved all the Angie and Octo Cat stories and adding a new animal in once in a while makes me want more of them. I can't wait until the wedding and the change in living arrangements.
Angie and Octo-Cat are ready to welcome a new neighbor. At least, Angie is. However, the new neighbor doesn’t want to be a neighbor. She wants to be left alone and complains about everything and anything to anyone including animal control and the police. When the neighbor is found dead in her shed killed by a bag of deer feed, the police rule accidental death. However, Angie feels it is murder. She and Paisley are off to find the murderer. I was glad to read another Octo-Cat mystery.
He can be a pain in the neck that Octo-Cat, then again so can Pringle. This story has some mystery, lingered mostly around Angie, while fiancé Charles and Grandma Nan were here and there. 1 crime solved, but so many more questions came up, especially with Alpha back in the story, but the most important question......Will Angie and Charles ever get married or continue to "plan" with all the PI investigating?
Amazing book! As always Octo-cat is my absolute favorite! His attitude in helping solve this case is absolutely what I would expect my cat to say!
Angie and Nan have a new neighbor that is not fond of their animals, Paisley, Octo-cat and Bandit (the raccoon who lives in a treehouse outside). However, the neighbor is very fond of deer.
When the neighbor passes away, Angie decides that she needs to know for sure if it was an accident or murder!
Another cute animal mystery in the Pet Whisper P.I. series. Angie ,Octo-Cat and the gang have a new neighbour but sadly she isn't very nice. No matter what Angie and Nan try she rude and horrible to them and their pets. When she's killed by bag of food is it an accident or murder. Can the frightened buck the neighbours been feeding help solve the mystery.
I really liked Deer Duplicity and thought Irving's behavior was en-deer-ing. The new neighbor in this book is cringe-worthy and the type of person who probably rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I thought the interactions with Pringle and Paisley were humorous and liked Octavius's snarky attitude. I really enjoy Molly Fitz's writings and am a little sad that I am approaching the end of the Pet Whisperer Series.
Loved this book and the entire series! It was so good to connect with the gang again. This book has a mystery to solve and Angi and Octo-Cat are on the case. If you are looking for a fun read, grab this book! Look forward to the next one.

Just when I think it could not be any better, Ms Fritz dusts off octo-cat for another adventure. He's my hero. The characters are realistic and fun. The twists and turns are peppered through out the action. This one is another winner in my opinion. I loved it.

I really love the way that Molly Fitz pulls the reader in and holds their attention with her wonderful characters and witty storylines that keep us coming back for more. I especially love octo-cat and all of the other quirky animals that she has adopted over the course of the series.

I do like these stories. The animals are so cute, especially the little dog. The cat, AH the cat is sometime else. But I do love it when she gets him going were she wants him to go. Good story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I am so happy to rejoin Angie, Octo-Cat, Gran, Paisley, Pringle and more in Deer Duplicity! I miss these characters when I am not reading about them. The animals are in an uproar over the grouchy new neighbor who is always calling the police and animal control on Angie's four footed friends. When the neighbor's death is ruled an accident, Angie knows she must investigate. Of course, I could not put this book down!
