On Valentine’s Day, gifts arrived for Violet. Gifts that weren't from Jack. And they kept coming.
If she had to admit it, she’d say she was spooked. If Jack had to admit it, he’d say he was furious. If Victor had to admit it, he'd say the sender better run for his life. And soon.
Then they discover another woman received the same type of things. Gifts. Notes. Distant adoration. Only this woman has turned up dead. Trying to uncover the anonymous sender, Jack and Victor discover there isn’t anything they wouldn’t do to keep Vi alive and safe with them. It turns out there isn’t anything Violet wouldn’t do to stay with them.

My favorite so far, I think. The crime was creepy, and easily solved by the end of course. It’s the character development that I love though. Smith is rapidly becoming a favorite.
Story good, proofreading errors, docked a star for the fat shaming. Author needs to knock it off with that. Detracted from an otherwise gripping read. Still wish that 20 titles in there was proofreading. Wrong words, wrong character names.
I just loved, loved this book. Since I've read all prior books in the series, I'm was already totally invested. Some of the previous books are excellent ,good or just so so. This one had everything I could want. Vi and Jack, her twin Victor with his wife Kate, friends Denny and Lila as well as Rita and Ham. Don't forget the butler Hargreaves and the devilish sleuth Smith. The story is excellent. Vi is the target of a truly sinister, diabolical person. Who is behind her terror? If they are able to find out who it is will one of the guys murder him first? I was stumped to the very end as to who the culprit was. If you're a fan of this series, as I am this one's for you!!
This one is a favorite. I continue to be amazed at how dark this series can get. This one deals with stalking and it doesn’t shy away from any of the aspects of such a disgusting crime. I loved that Vi has such a strong support system. So many women don’t, and they should. There’s nothing romantic, or cute, or funny about it, and this book doesn’t glorify it the way it feels like some books to. I appreciated that immensely. This is one of the best cozy series I’ve ever read and this installment is a great example of why.
Not as good as previous books because this one has dark, ominous undertones. I enjoy the light hearted, funny, ridiculous antics of No and crew. In this one, Vi has attracted a fan, an unpleasant one who is a predator! His acts are devious, unpleasant, and scary! There is a finale and justice seems to prevail; however, the ending is extremely abrupt and there remain a lot of unanswered questions. I felt it was very incomplete and undatisfying.
Yet another strange story from Violet and Jack Wakefield. Strange and yet wonderful. Being stalked is no fun at all, nor is being constantly afraid. This story was just a bit too real and could have easily happened in present times. The plot is easily followed, the characters, both main and supporting are a treasure to read about, and the story is timeless. This book is well worth your time and effort to read.
I love these books, they are set in the 1920's and are about Violet and her twin Victor plus a lot of other people they've made into family. Someone is sending flowers to Violet and drawings of her and it takes all of them to catch the person. I can't wait for the next book.
The gang, all of them, is back together to solve this very involved mystery. Violet is the object of someone's "affection" other than Jack's. Everyone gets involved in the case, including Smith. Why is Violet being targeted? Is this a fan of the work of a madman? Hope you enjoy this book.As much as I did.
I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to finish this book or not because I find sicko stalkers extremely disturbing….but I had to finish it to see the ending. Usually, these books are light, amusing, and enjoyable reads. This one is more dark. I love the Violet Carlyle Mysteries, though, and look forward to the next one.
I’m a fan and I have enjoyed every Violet Carlyle book. The books are entertaining and I love the big eclectic group of characters. I put the release dates on my iPhone calendar so I can get the newest novel as soon as possible!
A very different but intriguing Violet Carlyle mystery. But I do wish they had followed up with Simone story. I'd like to know more about that. Good book , though. Highly recommend.
Lady Violet has a stalker of the creepiest kind. Fortunately, she is not alone in her quest to find out who this person is and stop him. This was a pretty scary book, but Lady Violet's strength and the determination of her her loved ones wins out.
Love the humor, sassy banter, snark , and twists and turns The subject matter in this story is on the darker side.Author is a great storyteller .lively dramatic characters.💃🏻❣️😒😆
I really liked this book. Hard to believe that someone Vi could not remember meeting is the secret admirer and the murderer. I would recommend this book.
This was really a good book. Read the whole book in a matter of hours. Violet has a stalker and is terrorized. I think the conclusion may help her nightmares.
