Geostorm #4

The Flood

Rate this book
Since the formation of Earth billions of years ago,
it has been through cataclysmic changes.
She's been frozen and fried, pummeled from space and experienced the reversal of its magnetic poles.
It's happening now and the face of the planet may never be the same.

"Bobby Akart turns the world upside down once again!"

International bestselling author Bobby Akart delivers up-all-night survival thrillers in The Geostorm Series, the story of a planet-changing phenomenon, a natural disaster brought about by the Earth itself.

"Pulse pounding excitement. Akart pulls you into the story with his masterful writing talent until you are holding your breath captivated by the plot twists and each turn of the page leading you deeper into the world he has spun."

Throughout the millennia, mankind has faced epic floods. Evidence shows that the sudden reversal of the planet's magnetic field, a fast pole reversal, had a profound impact on climactic conditions.

What was once frozen, is now melted. The rising sea levels had to go somewhere. In past civilizations, man persevered because after these floods, the waters always receded.

Until they didn't. As the catastrophe unfolds, does a well-intentioned effort to save America's power grid result in unintended deaths? How will the Boone family cope with the changing face of the planet, and the brutality of their fellow man?

"Great characters, solid storyline, and twists and turns. The Geostorm series has it all!"

And the hits just keep on coming! As if the rains coming down weren’t bad enough for the Boone family and their fellow neighbors, throw in marauders, an evil family who thinks they deserve everything handed to them on a silver platter and will get it one way or another and then the biggy...death...Yes, as is known by those who have read other books by Bobby Akart, not everyone makes it out alive and in this book, it is no exception! I’m not gonna floss it over. It was a gut wrenching...heart thumping...pulse racing...a few choice words kind of moment. I’m not telling who it was but just have the tissues ready. Ya see...the one thing or one of the many things about Bobby Akart’s stories is that they are very true to life. The emotions are so real that you can’t help but feel them...deep down inside. Losing a character who has become like an old friend...hurts! Dammit...it really does! Another thing about the stories is that you will always find things that will give you ideas for “just in case”. You know that just in case time that we have a flood, earthquake, tornado, etc. Anyone of many disasters where the shtf and if you’re not prepared, well you’re just up a creek without that proverbial paddle! Yep, Bobby cares so much for his readers that he gives us all ways to prep and be ready to bug out if necessary. Geostorm The Flood is filled with so much happening that it will take your breath away! Some of it I laughed at and some I cried during but the main thing about this story was that it was enjoyable. This whole series has been a whirlwind but The Flood? Holy horseshoes Batman! It was one thing right after the other! Each getting more serious as the previous problem, well, maybe not as serious as the first one…*sniff...sniff* Anyway...I think you’ve gotten the idea of where this book will take you and I can say for sure that you will not be disappointed. You really need to read the first three books in the series so you know just who is who and the background of where they have all come from. That’s it! I loved this story and look forward to reading more in the next book!

Outstanding

Bobby Smart ha brought this story to life, as he has done with all the other book he has written. As a reader it's important to me that the book draws me in and takes me on the journey through the characters created. I can't wait to start reading the next book.

IThe Earth's magnetic field is overwhelmed, leaving our planet unprotected from the wrath of the Sun.

The Boone's extended family gathered to protect each other from the weather and the drunken antics of the Clark family. Mostly Bully Billy Clark, armed with the deeds and notes owed the bank in Corydon which Billy owned, began a campaign of calling the notes due and seizing assets of the major stores in Harrison county. But the townsfolk rose up in their anger, defying the woulld-be land baron and spontaneous groups protesting the Clark family's overreach.

These amazing characters react to the natural disasters which none had ever seen before, oh hell, which no living soul had ever seen before. The family, stirred by their Boone and Chapman roots, worked diligently to ensure they and their neighbors were helped to survive the natural devastation of the collapsing magnetosphere. Unfortunately they were opposed at every turn by the greedy Clark brood. Things are going to get nasty and people are going to die.

Bobby Akart has drawn us a masterpiece of suspense and terror... again! Sucking us down the virtual rabbit hole, into an Oz of greed and devious minds behind the curtain. As Bobby warns us through his multiple stories of "What if", we - the readers, his audience - have noticed frightening parallels occurring on our planet. Is Bobby a modern day prophet warning us against disasters coming in an unsure future? Or is he simply one of the best fortune tellers that ever penned a warning for our future? You decide! I'm already firmly in Bobby's camp, sitting around the campfire and taking heed of his warnings. Whichever, Bobby pens great works, as we are entertained and enlightened. I'll take it either way! You will have to read (or listen) to the stories and judge for yourself!

OMG is so right !

I have fallen in love with the Boone family , as a matter of fact I feel as though I am a part of this family. I have cried, laughed, and suffered with the Boone family. We're it to be that all of humanity could be as the Boone family, then we might not be so screwed as a civilization, but alas we are only human.
And, the real world is , the real world !
This is a very credible , very real, I do not want to say story because it is possible, facts are facts and the past is history, with that being said...History repeats itself and will continue to do so. Mother Earth has much to teach you and me!
Bobby and his team have done the research. We cannot afford to ignore, we need to pay attention and learn!
Wonderful series! Bobby Akart is one of a kind!Thank you!

Burn in Hell

First of all let's have a shout out for the bad guys who take this book to another level of drama to the flooding and the weather. Bully Billy. Sheriff Randy. Grrrr

In the previous books in this series, Chapman was my fav. Then, out of the plane crash, wolves, corrupt Clark family ....Levi arises. .. A hero emerges to save the day!
At this point I want to scream out Spoiler Alert! Nope fellow readers you need to read it yourselves.

Words of wisdom from Sarah...

Another great series!

Bobby's stories are always scientifically in depth, explaining the science as he reveals the horrors of the environmental cataclysm he develops before our eyes. The unraveling of society is also very scary and predictable as well, that is what i love about Akart's stories. Every time i open one of his books, i can't put it down and finish it in under 3 days! There is adventure, family bonds, lots of turbulence, suspense, and horror. Always worth the money and the time reading!

The continuing story of the Boone family as they fight to survive in the ever changing world as the North and South poles have shifted which is wreaking havoc on the earth. Very exciting and has you cheering on the family. Twists and turns run through this book. The best one of this series "Geostorm" by Bobby Akart. I do seem to really get into his books. From the Yellowstone series to this one, he is on the pulse of potential disasters just waiting around the corner to end earth as we know it.

Really makes the reader relate!

Just finished book 4 of the Geostorm series. It's late and I am yawning but I want to crack open the fifth book of the series right away...it's that good. The groundwork is laid out beautifully by the author. The characters , the flow, the feelings evoked throughout this series are easy to identify with. Bobby Akart's books are never boring or monotonous. They move along smoothly and the reader is taken on an adventure that it feels like you are a part of the story rather than an observation reader. Enjoy the ride!

The Flood....

The never-ending rain has been calling for about a week....No let up in sight...Seems like it's the beginning of the end for the Boone clan....Is this the way Earth as we know it goes out with a bang?...Wonderful series, keeps you on the edge of a cliff then drops you off of it completely..Feeling heartbroken tonight..Don't know whether I want to know what happens in Book 5

This 4th book in the series brings the Boone family together through heartache and disaster as the storms worsen. There is yet another Boone/Bully Billy clash which has a satisfying conclusion in my book....lol. The geostorm is throwing more life changing events at the world and I'm worried about what could be next for the Boone family, their friends and neighbours. Looking forward to the next book in the sitting on edge of your seat series.

The Flood was more like a hurricane!

The Flood was more like a hurricane, hammering away at the senses, inundating on all sides. The rapid fire series of events came close to being overwhelming, but bruised and battered, the Boone family kept their heads above water, barely, as the flood threatened to drown them and sinkholes opened up to topple their plans and dreams. Another incredible thriller!

The Flood

Wow!!! Just wow! This is the fourth book in this series which just came out today. I started it today and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Now I can't believe I have to wait a month to get the next book. I can't help but wonder how Mr. Akart can possibly come up with another series to come close to this one. Hurry with the fifth book, please?

Can’t Breathe

There went Sunday afternoon. I could not put The Flood down.
Totally captivating from start to finish. Mr Akart has written another of his scary factual fiction novels. Thank you for the
believable characters and possible earth changing plot.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

When it rains, it pours, right?” The group shared a laugh......” A very fitting quote for the situation the Boone family finds they live in. Rain, death, destruction, and despair follow the Boones but their cohesiveness as a family is what keeps us reading. Author Bobby Akart has the words and that extra something that can bring a story excitingly to life. Well done, Bobby.

There is a lot of great action in this volume and some emotional action as well. While there is a bit of everything-including-the-kitchen-sink in this apocalypse, with pole shift, weather, quakes, CME, it is also true that there is tremendous inter-dependency in our world. This is kept in a fairly plausible narrative and I find it very absorbing to read.

This fourth book in the series is, imho, even better than the previous books. And they are pretty darn great! The Boone family have all won places in my heart and there are plenty of heart-breaking events that happened to them. I highly recommend it and definitely suggest they be read in order. So, now I’m off to get book 5 from KU.

Sublime!

I don’t know how he does it but this author manages to keep me awake, cause me to break out with chills, keep me in fight or flight mode, all at the same time as making me smile and sometimes even laugh!
The story continues with mayhem, mischief and madness by the evildoers and courageous moves by the heroes of the story.

This has been an interesting series so far. It uses known science and most likely society changes with a liberal sprinkling of 'pseudo' surface water hydrology. The character development through the first three of this series continues to develop and does not disappoint.

This is not a stand alone book but the first three of the series would need to be read for full enjoyment.

2020 will be the next time I get to devour the next in this series.. In addition to seeing what happens with the changes going on geologically I am hoping to see that some characters get what they have sown.

Educate yourself Mr Akart about firearms

First there's not going to be any automatic weapons, especially a little Podunk place like this town. Secondly a gun doesn't just discharge when it's dropped. I hate ignorance of any kind of subject.

Absolutely exciting, realistic, great development of characters. But I do wonder what happened to the little girl and her mother. Chapman and Isabella saved them from a flooded road . Can't wait til part 5!!

Loving this series. The storyline is intense with tons of action. The characters are interesting and relatable. This book has less gory violence in it so I enjoyed it a lot more. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
