For thirty years, a forgotten fear has haunted the land of Terrasendia. The Dragadelf. Birthed by a magical phenomenon, the seven beasts swarmed the capital of Felders Crest to protect their claim. Trapped by their own greed, twinned with the greatest containment spell ever to exist, nothing went in, and nothing went out…But Terrasendia is about to learn, that may not exactly be true. Using the magical form of The Protecy, Màgjeur Ramalon, struggles to understand his uncontrollable powers, while Alexandao, a nobleman, is given hope to treat his terminally ill son. Elsewhere, Alicèndil, Durgeon of Septalia, learns of a secret legion planning to invade all that’s good and green, in ultimate retribution for those who never made it out in time thirty years ago. Through discovery and time, we learn the existence of these three men are aligned by more than just a secret fate, and that they too may have a claim to the divine power that now governs the world of Rèo.
I can only imagine the hours that went into the world building into this book. Everything was well structured and thought out, from the creatures, to the system of magic, to the societal class structure.
It centres around three men that seemingly are not connected but as the story develops we start to see how they are all working to the same goal.
Sometimes I found the writing a little confusion, there was a lot to learn about this world and it sometimes gave me too much information and had my head rolling with who everyone was and what was happening. But I still enjoyed it as an epic fantasy read.
