Rate this book
Something evil has been born aboard the Shensheng fuel processing facility. The question isn't, "Can it be killed," it's, "Can Sergeant Quintero survive the process?" After two months of radio silence, the Chinese government has asked the US Army for assistance in a rescue operation aboard the Shensheng fuel processing facility. Upon arrival, Sergeant Dominic Quintero and his joint-operation squad are greeted by an unfriendly welcoming committee who thrusts them headlong into the fray. The descent into madness is peppered with hellbeasts whose true nature remains suspiciously mysterious. Is there more going on than meets the eye? Read Virulence to find out!

It was OK. Perhaps a bit insensitive due to the recent current events, though in Prado's defense the novella was released months before the pandemic.
It's a short read with only 90+ pages with an interesting plot and setting.
If you get annoyed with the overuse of adverbs and adjectives you may find it distracting and cause you to not finish the book.

Topics include genetically modified fungal infections, military, joint national cooperation with secrets, planetary fueling station, sexual attraction, rape...

liked this novella. the story line was awesome and pretty original. good world building and plot and characters. a team was sent out to fix a communication problem on a refuel ship that was stationed outside Venus and find it over ran by mutated humans. the farther they go the more the mystery unravels and everyone is in danger. they need to get it under control before everyone is infected and it spreads to earth.

I got this book for free from the author on bookfunnel. It wasn't right up my alley cos going in, I expected a horror, scary, weird tale but got science stuff instead. At first, I thought it was another zombie book, but I later realized that the story line was about a fungi infection and not a virus so that was a nice change. Though it wasn't what I expected, I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who's into mutating monsters.
