ML Hamilton taught high school English and journalism in Central California for 32 years.
Teaching students to appreciate literature made her career rewarding; however, she always dreamed of publishing her own novel.
In 2010, the dream came true. Her first novel, Emerald, was published by Wild Wolf Publishing. The sequel to Emerald, The Heirs of Eldon, followed the next year.
In addition to teaching and writing, she has three sons, two daughters-in-law, two dogs, and three amazing grandbabies.

This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:
The third box in the series contains stories of July, August and September. And again we meet three ordinary and yet extraordinary women and accompany them in their struggles with what life brings them. And again the books touch on issues women around the world have to face daily...
July - the story of Margot, a widow of twenty something years who in her sixties gets another chance at love... Will her family accept it? And will she be brave enough to start anew? August - the story of Angela, a state senator, who used to be a victim of an abusive husband and now supports other women in similar relationships and fights for their rights; but there's a secret in her past that may threaten her political career. If she reveals it, will she lose everything, including the love of her second husband? September - the story of Roxanne, a friend to the Yates family, who with time becomes something more for the widowed Henry. But then a lethal disease threatens Roxanne's life... Will Henry stay by her or will she be alone in her plight?
All the stories in the series are wonderfully narrated, emotional and yet subtle, with characters you'll love from page one.
Narration by Ms Hazen makes them even more relatable, believable, credible... She's really good at conveying emotions, making the stories sound true, making the characters really speak through her... A wonderful narration of the whole series:)

This marvelous series continues to deepen. The challenges increase - we are not only dealing with issues of coming of age or claiming one's individual power. The women of THE SUMMER OF DISCOVERY are struggling with most major of life's obstacles: the loss of a child, life after a soul mate's death, the guilt of being happy in the face of another's tragedy, abuse and violence and taking back one's power in the aftermath, navigating the pitfalls of the political arena, loneliness, fear in the wake of a devastating health issue, taking a chance on a rebound love affair. Yikes! That's a lot to deal with. The beauty of this series is in its interconnectedness. Joining with THE WINTER OF DISCOVERY and THE SPRING OF DISCOVERY the opportunity to experience an uplifting, inspirational, self-sustaining and self-developing catharsis is truly present. Members of the Storyteller Review Team say it every time, just like I do - each story is better than the last. And they cannot wait for the next one. This opportunity to experience them together is absolutely breath-taking.
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it inspiring. I don't listen to much fiction, instead I prefer more action and suspense, with is now happening as the series grows. Everything starts with a death of a daughter, sister, and friend, when she leaves a personal message to every family member to be read after her death. In book 7, 8 and 9, her death's has deeply affected her youngest daughter, and her reactions in turn has effected three more women trying to take control of their own lives. Every type of emotion is on display as the stories of three very different women are told. Each book is inspiring and uplifting, as each women struggles to be what they want to be. This combination of author and narrator never fails to draw you into their world. Very much worth listening too.
Covering tough topics such as the death of a child, domestic abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, breast cancer, and many more, this series tackles them with sensitivity, grace, and strong women.
This fantastic box set covers the stories of three incredible women, Margot, Angela, and Roxanne. Each is a stand alone, but the characters are all connected in some way.
Ms. Hamilton is a master storyteller. She writes with such strong feelings and emotions. I am immediately drawn into her stories.
Ms. Hazen brings these stories to life. She captures the emotions and her performances tug at my heartstrings.

The Summer of Discovery Box Set: Volume Three was a great read by ML Hamilton. This box set consists of the seventh through ninth books; July, August and September. July is the story of Margot; August is the story of Angela, and Septemer is the story of Roxanne. I absolutely love how Kelley Hazen narrates the characters so that you love them and are invested in what happens to them. I can't wait to read more by M.L. Hamilton.
