A full-color graphic novel about dinosaur heroes on a quest to fight for good over evil.
On their own, they are four mild-mannered dinos, but together they are . . . DINOMIGHTY!
Everything is pleasant and good in Dinotown . . . until Teri-Dactyl discovers a cryptic email that says the precious Golden Egglettes are in danger! Dinomighties unite! But can they spring into action fast enough to save these valuable jewels from evil baddies?
Graphic Novel. I received an electronic ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children's Book Group through NetGalley. Elementary grade readers will love the antics in this book. They'll love the humor and the quirky characters. Plus, dinosaurs! The detailed illustrations offer readers the chance to join the action and fun as the Dinomighty foursome solves crimes and saves the day. Amusing ending as the stolen eggs actually hatch and the evil doers have to raise the baby dinosaurs. Parents everywhere will relate to the challenges shown in those few pages. Giant hint for the next book at the end of the story.
This was one of the funniest books I’ve ever read. I don’t remember ever laughing that hard at a book ever. The first part that made me cackle was when they were at the pit stop and the sign’s initials were PP. I’m a grown adult and that had me in a giggle fit. Lol. Then, I died when Doofus had the sofa on his head and said “This is perfect. I look just like a living room.” Like what? That is so random. But like it was such a funny random that it made me laugh. Then it made me crack up again when Diplodocus got angry at Doofus and said “Maybe you’d make better time if you weren’t carrying a sofa on your head!” Then I just died when they roasted marshmallows in the lava. That was absolutely hilarious. The villains, especially Doofus, reminded me more of mischievous five year olds and Doof from Phineas and Ferb than actual villains. But regardless, I LOVED this book. I will definitely be reading the sequels.
This is the first in a new graphic novel series about three dinosaurs and a chicken who are superheroes who are attempting to thwart the Diplodocus brothers from stealing the jeweled egglettes. The plot is not the important part of this book. It is the silly jokes and puns and that no one can understand chicken because all he says is "bok," though he is probably the smartest one in the group. Aaron Blecha's illustrations are colorful and goofy and his style is similar to Dav Pikney of Captain Underpants and Dog Man fame, and that is the primary audience that Paleo and Blecha are aiming their series at. This booked is geared for new chapter book readers who prefer graphic novels to chapter books.
Dinomighty! This is a graphic novel of three dinosaurs and a chicken, each with unique personalities and abilities. They are team that works together to protect there city, from some interesting villains. Two villains in particular, diplodoocus and diplodoofus, are trying to move up the most villainous top ten list. They devise a plan to steal these precious, rare, and expensive eggs. It is up to the Dinomighty Team to stop this from happening. This is a Graphic novel that would appeal to kids who enjoy reading Dog Man.
This is a graphic novel for readers between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. This graphic novel is a must read for young minds who love the sense of adventure. The storyline of this books keeps you on the edge of your seat begging for more. Every words grabs your attention asking you to dare and read further.
Meh. One of the characters is “T-Lex” which is slightly problematic? They spend a lot of time in the middle of the book just running around a castle trying to find each other. There’s some funny one-liners but this one was hard to motivate myself to finish.
3 dinosaurs and a chicken get an email that trouble is afoot. There are two other dinosaurs that are going to steal some jeweled eggs from a castle far away. A chase ensues by the 4 to stop the 2. Things go terribly wrong.
I know this is meant to be funny in the way that DogMan is funny. However it failed. I found the jokes to be pointless, beyond juvenile. Example: one of the "villain" dinosaurs is called Diplodoofus while the other is Diplodocus. I dislike resorting to name calling as a form of humor. It also consistently refers to the chicken as a dinosaur. A chicken is not a dinosaur. Maybe that is supposed to be funny but it is also mis-information. I did like the illustrations. They are vivid and lively.
