Together Forever

Rate this book
Marianne Neumann has one goal in life: to find her lost younger sister, Sophie. When Marianne takes a job as a placing agent with the Children's Aid Society in 1858 in New York, she not only hopes to give children a better life but seeks to discover whether Sophie ended up leaving the city on an orphan train.

Andrew Brady, her fellow agent on her first placing trip, is a former schoolteacher who has an easy way with the children - firm, but tender and funny. Underneath his handsome charm, though, seems to linger a grief that won't go away - and a secret from his past that he keeps hidden. As the two team up placing orphans amid small railroad towns in Illinois, they find themselves growing ever closer . . . until a shocking tragedy threatens to upend all their work and change one of their lives forever.

Hedlund is known for the wonderful romantic threads within her stories, and while that thread is certainly present here, the historical details about the orphan train are where Together Forever truly shines. Readers of the first book will remember that details about the orphans were a bit sparse, because it was based on a different aspect of the same organization, helping women find employment. However, in this novel, the focus is entirely on the experience of the orphans and the placing agents sent with them as they are adopted at the different stops along the journey.

Marianne Neumann made some bad choices in book one, however, in this story, she has grown up and is determined to prove her worth as an employee of Children’s Aid Society. Despite her youth, she has come through some tough times and wants to make up for her past mistakes. Andrew Brady, the Society’s other placing agent, is also dealing with a past mistake that has come to define him. His charm has allowed him to hide his secrets, but, of course, Marianne has a way of getting past it all. Their interactions are sweet and endearing. I was especially struck by the depth of emotion that Marianne’s character portrays, as she struggles with letting go of the orphans that she comes to care for. Her tender heart struggled with letting go, and I really connected to that aspect of the story. In addition to the romance and fascinating historical details, there is a bit of a suspenseful thread. While I was not surprised about the culprit of it all, I enjoyed experiencing the events as they unfold.

The story can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I do recommend reading With You Always first because I think it makes Marianne’s character development more poignant. The whereabouts of the youngest Neumann sister, Sophie, are still unknown at the end of the story, and I’m definitely looking forward to her story in Searching for You.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher; I chose to review it, and the opinions expressed here are my own.

Anytime I pick up a book by Jody Hedlund I know three things for certain:

I will learn something new about history.
My heart will be deeply touched.
I will swoon.

Together Forever met all of the above expectations – and exceeded them. I love that the author does a lot of her research from actual first person historical accounts (letters, diaries, reports, etc.) – it adds an even more personal touch to the characters and allows them to vividly come to life on the pages. Marianne Neumann is just such a character to benefit from the author’s research. I’ve been drawn to her since With You Always and continued to see why as I read her story in Hedlund’s latest book. She is relatably flawed yet her heart is soft and she strives to rise above her past mistakes. At first, her tenderness seems like it might be a detriment as she actively works to place orphans in homes along the train route. These children have captured her heart – how can she possibly let them go to an unknown future? Yet, Hedlund ultimately uses Marianne’s loving spirit as an asset, and it’s this journey that makes the story so poignant.

Hand-in-hand with that journey are the orphans – some precocious, some timid, some brash and arrogant – all afraid in varying degrees of rejection, harm, and abandonment. Prepare for your own heart to be tugged to several children in particular, and know that you will not walk away unchanged after meeting them.

And of course, there’s romance! The chemistry between Marianne and Drew is electric and their kisses are sizzling enough to melt the coldest ice. Read this from the safety of your fainting couch (or properly cushioned floor) and keep a half dozen fans and a sturdy freezer close by as well. The intensity of their attraction adds to the tension that crackles through the last half of the book, and some degree of uncertainty to their fate will keep you frantically turning the pages.

Bottom Line: Together Forever is another incredibly moving and swoonilicious story from Jody Hedlund. With endearing characters that take up residence in your heart and a range of emotions to be experienced as you read, this is a book you won’t want to put down once you’ve begun. A sweet message of courage, love, and God’s steady presence adds to the touching story, giving it meaning as well as entertaining. A must read for historical fiction fans!

I picked it because I enjoyed the first book in the series and I’ve always been fascinated by the orphan trains. I really liked the first half and the interactions with the children. However, around the halfway point, it becomes just another romance with too much physical attraction and too many deep kisses between two who haven’t known each other over a month and who don’t have any real intention of getting married. And then we have a forced love triangle and a flurry of action at the end which completely changes the feel of the book and is mostly melodrama to get them across the finish line.

Marianne should have simply tossed both suitors over her shoulder and gone to find her sister....

Thanks to the publisher for a free reading copy. My review, however, is of a final copy I got off a bargain shelf.

I loved that this second book in the series was directly involved with the placing out of orphans and their experiences along the journey. I've been fascinated by this part of history since reading the Orphan Train Adventures books by Joan Lowrey Nixon as a youth, and now that I've adopted two children of my own it's especially close to my heart. Marianne seems to have grown a bit since the previous book, where desperate circumstances drove her to make questionable choices, the ends justifying the means. She faces challenges while accompanying the children on the train that she handles with grace and strength, and following Andrew's example, allows her caring influence to be a blessing in the lives of the orphans. I appreciated that the author portrayed both the advantages and challenges of the orphan train movement and the perspective of the placing agents and what they felt and experienced.

Marianne and Andrew's romance was impetuous since the rules forbid placing agents from fraternization, but they naturally grew close through the obstacles and unexpected tragedies they faced. Even though there were hardships, Marianne and Andrew's bright personalities brought light and laughter to the story, bringing balance and relief from the anxiety of the circumstances. I enjoyed that they played with the children on breaks and sang songs and told stories to them, even when Marianne was out of her comfort zone. One of my favorite parts that made me laugh out loud was young Jethro's innocent question when he witnessed a kiss between Marianne and Andrew- so funny! I'd hate to spoil it so you'll just have to read the book and keep an eye out for it ;)

Reinhold, Marianne's family friend from New York, is also a part of the story and his perspective provides a lead-in to the next book, which will feature him and the youngest Neumann sister, Sophie. He has overcome so much from his past, and his hard work and determination to succeed are finally coming to fruition in a thriving community. I felt so frustrated for him as his plans to buy his own farm and care for his family are thwarted and he must come up with a solution to his growing problems. I'm thoroughly enjoying this historical series and can't wait to read the next book!

I was so excited to finally join Bethany House reviews and this book's synopsis looked perfect.
Unfortunately, the book did not live up to my expectations at all.
Disclaimer: I did not finish the book. All thoughts are based on the first few chapters and what I skim read. I tried to only base my review on things I had read, not thing I assumed.
First off, I couldn't have cared less for the characters. The main girl believes in God, but believes He doesn't want her anymore because she's sinned. But she'll fake Christianity because the main guy believes it and she wants to impress him. Also we were given convenient little snatches of her background that were supposed to make us feel sorry for her. It did not work on me.
The main guy... was a piece of work. He flirts with the main girl when he doesn't even know her, and doesn't seem to care whether she is a Christian or not. He saves her from some boys though, so he's won her heart.
That's where I stopped. I was done with characters I didn't like and standards lower than my own. I did skim read the rest of the book and stumbled on a very, very passionate kissing scene. I was skimming it and I had way to much detail. I didn't really like what I saw with the rest of the story, but since I did not read it, I won't go into that.
Overall, this was a very disappointing read. I will not be reading anything more by this author.

The author packed a lot of heart into the pages of this novel. It was impossible for me not to feel compassion for some of the sweet orphans who captured Marianne’s love on their journey west. I also really enjoyed the developing relationship between Drew and Marianne. Plenty of sparks there!

Drew and Marianne faced many things on this journey which put their fledgling relationship to the test. Could they let go of the guilt that they each carried around? Could they overcome the hurdles that arose? Would they come out stronger together? Would the truth prevail?

Together Forever was a sweet and emotionally rich story. An enjoyable addition to the Orphan Train series, this story could be read as a stand alone novel, if desired. I believe the reading experience will be enhanced if book one is read first, as well as the free prequel novella. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, in which we find out Sophie’s story.

Another great read by Mrs. Hedlund! The book was about the historical orphan train. It was very well researched. I enjoyed learning from the lovable fictional characters who worked for the Children's Aid Society. I learned about some of the hardships they endured to find homes for these unfortunate children.. This was a sweet romance and I look forward to more in the series.

What a sweet story! I knew, after reading book one With You Always, that I wanted more time with the orphans, and how happy was I to get it. :) Marianne and Drew have quite the journey to their happy ever after and I thoroughly enjoyed all the ups and downs that came!

Starting with Marianne, it was lovely to see how she had grown since the first book. She made some bad choices then, but is now willing to prove that she's changed. And it's clear to see she has! I was wondering if she'd redeem herself for me, so I was happy to begin chapter one thoroughly invested in her journey. Watching as she fell in love with all the orphans and learned to let them go when the time came was sweet. It was easy to see why Drew was so drawn to her!

And oh my, the chemistry between the two of them! Very palpably felt every time they were close, not to mention the way they'd stare at each other. They are so irresistibly attracted and I loved the way neither of them could ever deny it! It was perfectly obvious to everyone around them. Especially little Jethro who I loved dearly from the moment he entered the scene! Such an adorable little matchmaker was he. :D

Yet it's not just the swoony romance which swept me off my feet, it's also the harsh realities that Ms. Hedlund includes. Not that I necessarily liked them, but it kept the story from feeling too sweet and romantic. Life on an orphan train back then could not have been easy at all and I appreciated all the little ways Ms. Hedlund kept my mind grounded, even while making me swoon!

By the final pages, I was happy with where things are left, yet definitely looking forward to book three. It will be interesting to find out where Sophie is and what's been going on with her, since that's one of the biggest overarching mysteries! And if it can contain little glimpses of Marianne and Drew, like this one had glimpses of Elise and Thornton, I will be a very happy reader! :)

The second book in the Orphan Train series focuses on middle sister, Marianne Neumann who is now working for the Children's Aid Society in New York City aiding in the transportation of orphaned children to different parts of the US. In the oldest sister, Elsie's book, With You Always, Marianne had made a few mistakes but she is also about redeeming herself here. Committed to finding out what happened to her youngest sister, Sophie, Marianne hopes that as she drops children off at different villages, she will find her sister. What Marianne does not expect is falling in love with Andrew(Drew) Brady. Drew is a charming Southern man who feels called to the teaching profession much to the disgruntlement of his lawyer father. Their story will have some romance, familial angst, and murder.

As a longtime reader of Jody Hedlund's novels, I am aware of her formula and it works just fine for me. Hedlund writes captivating historical fiction and clean romance. I would love some of her series to be adapted to television but I guess we shall wait and see. Although I will freely admit I enjoyed Elsie and Thornton's romance a bit more, I still felt it was a compelling and heartwarming story.

A wonderful follow-up to the first book. It’s a sweet romance with adorable child characters and a dash of mystery. I enjoyed this one more than the first book due to feeling more connected to these characters. I can not wait to read the third one!!

I really liked this second book in this series more than the first, but I think it is also because it involved more of the orphan train and orphans. There was a steady build in the story and connection to the characters and towards the end, just when you though there would be a happily ever after, major plot twist which made me not want to stop reading (or listening).

Marianne had a lot of character growth in this book. Though I did disagree a bit about how she and Drew handled a certain situation at the end, Marianne developed into a character who unselfishly loved and made sacrificial decisions, not always to her benefit, but definitely for the benefit of the other parties involved.

Drew was a great male lead - his way with the orphans made me love him. He had a lot to learn, especially that you can’t take blame on yourself which is not yours to take - even though he might have felt responsible. He had his faults, especially the way he tried to manipulate a happy ever after ending, but he had a lot of good qualities which made him a lovable lead.

The Orphans stole my heart and I loved the facts the author provided in this fictional story, especially to show that, though the idea of the orphan train was good, again the children were not always better off due to others taking advantage of their situation.

Reynold - oh I so hope that he will also find his happy ever after.

The audiobook was entertaining and well delivered.

Recommended to fans of historical fiction.

Looking forward to the third and final book in this series.

I believe that Jody Hedlund can write well. However, I'm not sure she'll write a story that really compels me. The historical aspect of this story was heartbreaking, but the MCs were too immature for me to enjoy this story. There was a lot of taking responsibility for things over which they had no control. There was also a lot of deception that was dragged out until nearly the end. And I felt really sorry for one of the characters.

An interesting look at what it was like to be a child or chaperone on an Orphan Train.

In Together Forever, main character Marianne is looking for her sister that she believes went on one of the trains. She is able to secure a position as an agent responsible for finding homes for children at different stops in Illinois. Her co-agent is Andrew Brady.

It was a sweet story with a touch of mystery.

I loved this book as much as I did the first one in this series, a part of American history, and we get to see it first-hand.
This is the second Neumann sister’s story, Marianne, and we get to walk in her shoes as she travels with the orphans to find them new homes in Illinois. You watch her do what she isn’t supposed to do, become attached to these precious children, and become attracted to her fellow agent Andrew, another no no.
I really found myself page turning, and not wanting to put the book down, I had to know how things turned out. With some chuckles, some heart break, and life struggles, this story has it all.
Now I can’t wait for the next book for the lost sister Sophie, and maybe the lost orphans, and I still don’t like Rheinhold’s aunt and what she did!

I received this book through Celebrate Lit Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.

I really enjoyed this book. It is really well researched and an in depth look at the operations of the orphan trains.

Marianne sometimes got on my nerves, but she really matures by the end of this book and the romance was adorable.

I really, really can't wait for book 3! I really want to know what happened to Sophie!

'God wasn't about to listen to her prayers, much less answer them."

Marianne Neumann's one priority in life is to find her younger sister Sophie. She hires on with the Children's Aid Society so that to have an insider job and maybe find her sister. The year is 1858 and children are being taken by orphan train across the country to find parents and escape the brutal life on the streets they have been living. But Sophie has seemingly disappeared and Marianne has to find her.

She meets a fellow agent, Andrew Brady, a former schoolteacher who has a way with children and they travel the train together making sure the children are settled. Drew is a handsome and charming man, but he carries a deep burden within his heart. He and Marianne are drawn to one another, but a shocking tragedy threatens to forever separate them and destroy their work.

Jody Hedlund became a favorite with her very first book. She does great research into the subject of her books and writes in such a way that the reader is drawn right into the book. This one warms the heart and breaks it at the same time. I can't imagine a child having to be chosen after traveling cross country on an orphan train. But yet this happened in our nation. Hedlund tells the story and tells it well.

The first book in this series (and these are not stand alone books), was not about the traditional orphan trains as much as I thought it would be. This one was more traditional.  I enjoyed the storyline, and following up on Marianne's story a bit more, getting to know her, as it were.
Ms. Hedlund is talented at pulling out pieces of history that actually happened, real life stories, both the sad and the good. This book was no exception.

It addresses something that many of us face, the ability to blame ourselves for things that we are not responsible for. It often seems easier to blame us as we believe it of ourselves.
This story could be used to demonstrate lessons, but also if you were studying history, a way to learn about some of the orphan trains and their history.
I obtained this book from NetGalley and the publisher. The opinions contained herein are my own.

Another wonderful book by Jody Hedlund. I became immersed in Marianne and Drew's story. There were some pretty adorable children on that orphan train, and it would have been hard to let them go. Some sad situations and great challenges for the main characters but they overcame them well. Excited to finish the series.

I struggled with the decision on what to rate this book. Jody Hedlund is a wonderful and talented author and generally I love her stories and recommend them to who ever I can. This one, however, just didn’t draw me like her other books. I liked Marianne in the first book but couldn’t enjoy her as the heroine this time. Her actions and the thoughts behind them never seemed to show any growth or maturity up until the very last pages of the book, yet it all worked out fine. Everything was wrapped up neatly regardless. I also couldn’t get behind Drew. He was either recklessly doing whatever he felt like or moping. I enjoyed seeing Elise again and getting to know Reinhold better. I am still eagerly waiting to read his and Sophie’s story.

I know many others have greatly enjoyed this book and as I said, Hedlund is an excellent writer. Many of her other stories have earned spots on my favorites shelf. Please don’t let my opinion keep you from seeing for yourself if this book is for you or not.

Together Forever is what I have been waiting for all year. I absolutely loved Jody Hedlund’s beginning of her Orphan Train series, With You Always. The wait for book two was well worth it. I love how the author uses vivid historical details for her stories. She knows how to transport me back in time and be part of the characters’ lives and this one is no different. Love how she brought Marianne and Drew to life. Another reason why she is among my favorite authors.
I give Together Forever a well deserved five plus stars. I will be eagerly waiting for the third installment from the Orphan Train series.
Great piece of sweet, clean and romantic historical fiction. Highly recommended.

Jody Hedlund never disappoints! I can always count on a good read when I pick up one her books and Together Forever was fantastic. This is book two of her Orphan Train series. I loved reading about Marianne's trip on the placing out train trip. Ms. Hedlund did a wonderful job of recreating the atmosphere of New York City and the desperation of people to provide a better life for their children. I loved the plot and the plot twists. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book! So grab your travel mug of tea and ride along with Adam, Marianne, and the children as they travel to new lives.

The trauma and heart-hurting rawness of families torn apart, abandoned, suffering, and being given away to others is poignantly written into the pages of Jody Hedlund's Orphan Train series. She has fleshed out the story of peoples in the mid-1800's who because of poverty found themselves in conditions where there were thousands of children abandoned to the streets of New York.

There are two main story lines or emphasis in Together Forever. The first would be the story of the children being taken from the streets of New York to be resettled with families in the mid-west. It is about them as individuals with fears, troubles, attitudes that make them either considered to be good or poor choices for those willing to take them in. The second story line in the book is a developing romance between the two main characters, Marianne Neumann and Andrew Brady.

The children include many ages from toddlers to teens. When they stop at the towns that have families awaiting the opportunity to choose a child to take in, the children face a gamut of types of families. They are peered at, examined for ability to work, and scrutinized. Siblings are torn apart and some are deemed "unwanted." It was a sad time and socially both a good happening and a terrible blot on humanity.

Being in close proximity for many weeks as agents transporting these children aboard the Orphan Trains, the young adults, Marianne and Andrew, became drawn to one another and it soon their friedship blossomed into a sweet romance.

Together Forever can easily be read as a stand alone story. However, other characters in the book were in book one in the series and the continuity is nice and makes for a more enjoyable read.

The plight of the children in this series touches my heart as my own mother was raised in a orphanage because circumstances prevented her mother keeping her at home. Her situation was not as dire as that of the children consigned to the outbound Orphan Train, but it is a reminder that life can be hard and when hardship comes, the children suffer the most.

I recommend Together Forever.

Together Forever by Jody Hedlund is the second book in the Orphan Train Series.

As usual, Jody Hedlund has woven a terrific tale. She capably turns her research into a realistic story that tugs at your heart. She puts you right in the story through the setting and you feel the plight of the poor orphans who were riding a train out West in hopes of finding a family who could love them.

As agents of the Children’s Aid Society, the job of Marianne Neumann and Andrew Brady is to take thirty-one children on a long train journey from New York City to Illinois. Their purpose is to place them out with people who agree to take them. Not only does Marianne desire to find good homes for the orphans. She is looking for her missing sister, Sophie, who she believes has ended up in a town along the train line. Drew is still trying to find his way in the world — out from under the expectations of his father, who wants him to go into the ministry or law. But Drew would rather help children in a different way, much to his father’s disappointment. As they travel together, Drew and Marianne try to fight their growing attraction.

Will Marianne find her sister? How can Drew and Marianne bear to part with the children they have come to love? Will they be able to place all the children and will they be going to good homes?

This was a very interesting subject, showing the logistics of placing orphans in a hopefully stable environment. It also showed the faith struggles that Drew and Marianne went through in the middle of seemingly insurmountable circumstances that could have crippled them.
This book is for fans of historical Christian fiction. It is filled with hope, forgiveness and redemption.

Together Forever is the second book in Jody Hedlunds Orphan Train series. Though this book can stand alone, I do recommend reading the first. It will help you better understand the characters in this read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It isn’t often, if ever, that I’ve read a book about this historical time period strictly from the point of view of those responsible for placing the orphans. It certainly gives one empathy for the task they chose to perform. It took much sacrificial love and giving of oneself to do it well.

Hedlund once again brings history to life with absolutely wonderful characters, emotionally scenes, vivid detail, and a unique point of view from an interesting historical time of the orphan trains. This book will have a place on my forever shelves.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

I’m going to get straight to the point. I can NOT recommend this as a Christian book. Too much descriptive sexual innuendos. I had hoped Mrs. Hedlund had changed her approach to writing Christian romance books, but she has not.

If my Pastor were to talk like she does in parts of her book, the whole congregation would be shocked, I believe. If you call yourself a Christian, and you can read books like this without the Holy Spirit convicting you, then I suggest you are either a backslider or still lost. I am very serious. Examine yourself, to see if you are actually IN THE FAITH that you profess to others. REPENT, if you are not.
Revelation 3:16

“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
King James Version (KJV)

I didn’t want to finish the book. I didn’t. I scanned here and there, hoping for less garbage and more history, but no, it didn’t happen. This book was a flimsy outline, bare bones, of the Orphan Trains of the Children’s Aid Society. 1858.

I’m also surprised about the review Christian Market gave it: powerful and historically grounded. Not really. It’s not worth your time if you’re a serious Christian, and desire to follow JESUS CHRIST, and not your own flesh. I think I’m done reading any more of Jody Hedlund’s books. Just tired of the false labeling and the inappropriate scenes in many of today’s “Christian” historical fiction books. Be careful what you buy, and what you read. You WILL give an account for everything you did, and didn’t do, on Judgement Day. Be careful, be watchful, and stay on the strait and narrow path that leads to eternal life in Jesus Christ my Lord, and I hope He is yours, too.

" 'Go away!' . . .. . . But the steps grew nearer. 'Don't come around the desk. Please . . .. ' "

Not the most traditional of introductions, but maybe it was just meant to be, that Marianne Neumann and Andrew Brady should happen to meet under such entertaining circumstances. Both were employed as placing agents with the Children's Aid Society of New York, and on the eve of an important cross country trip; chaperoning a train car full of orphans who were anxiously anticipating placements within families through-out small Illinois railroad towns.

Whereas Andrew appears lighthearted and impulsive, Marianne feels cautious and reserved, viewing the trip as an opportunity to search for a much beloved sister, who had virtually disappeared. As the miles disappear behind them, their hours of close proximity forge an invisible bond of attraction, between themselves and the children, making the decisions ahead of them all the more painful. Sometimes loving means letting go and often times "courage takes many forms". Thankfully, there is a God "whose strength is made perfect in weakness".

A lovely historical with plenty of blush rendering romance!

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. The opinions state are entirely my own.

Jody Hedlund does it again. I am blown away by what an amazing author she is. Somehow, within just a few short pages, she can pull you into a story and make you not want to leave until it is finished.
I have to be honest. I did not like Marianne as a character in the first book, With You Always, in this series. She just was not very likeable in my opinion. However, as soon as I started this book, that opinion changed, and she became a favorite character. Andrew was amazing. I love characters like him and I definitely fell in love with him as soon as I met him.
The cover is very wonderful. It fits the story perfectly, with the girl and the boy clinging to the woman, who is meant to be Marianne. Speaking of which, I loved all of the children. They were great little characters whom I grew to love as I “got to know” each one. Therefore, I am going to give the cover 5 stars.
Can you guess how I am going to rate this book? Definitely 5 stars. I am very excited to read the next book in The Orphan Train series. I can’t wait to see how Sophia’s story plays out! If you are looking for a sweet romance mixed with some mystery, intrigue, and history, this is the book for you!

Together Forever was an amazing sequel to With You Always. I loved seeing Marianne get her story and the romance was sweet...even if it moved quickly.

I liked the characters and how the story had some intense moments. There was a little mystery, which was intriguing.

All in all, while the book probably wasn't 100% realistic, it was a fun read that kept me entertained and one I barely wanted to put down. I can't wait to read the next book and see how this series ends.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved a more in depth look at the Orphan Trains. I remember loving the Joan Lowery Nixon books called the Orphan Train Quartet. This book reminded me of that series.

I admit that I didn't care much for Marianne in the first book. She grew on me here. I loved Drew. He was so fun. I'm looking forward to reading Sophie's story when it comes out.

Other tidbits I found fascinating included the House of Refuge and the Newsboys Lodging House. I had always thought that those existed only in Newsies, one of my all time favorite musicals. It was interesting to see that those two places truly did exist in NYC beyond just in Newsies.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher on behalf of the author in order to help promote. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
