Once again Yvonna Harris, DC's favorite villainess, has returned! But is she cured, or is she still reeking havoc on all those who cross her list?
Recently released from the mental institution that held her captive for years, Yvonna returns home with one goal in mind: to take care of her precious daughter, Delilah, and be the mother she herself never had. But the moment she touches down, she comes face to face with old skeletons--skeletons who want their own revenge, and nothing short of Yvonna's life will suffice.
Realizing she's done too much to hide, Yvonna seeks the help of an old friend, Bricks. But she quickly finds out that when death stares you down, there is no escape.
YVONNA TRIES BUT FAILS TO KEEP GABRIELLA AT BAY. I DON'T THINK THAT SHE'S WELL ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF HERSELF LET ALONE A CHILD DELILAH. I WAS AT FIRST SIDE-EYING BRICKS BUT HE MAY ACTUALLY LIKE YVONNA-DESPITE ALL HER PERSONALITIES-MORE THAN I'D GIVEN HIM CREDIT FOR. ONE OF THE THINGS I CAME AWAY FROM THE BOOK & THE SERIES IS: YVONNA, WITH ALL HER SEPARATE PERSONALITIES, MAY VERY WELL BE HER OWN WORST ENEMY.
First I wanna say because of this series, I am not handling my daily duties as I should because I'm so darn wrapped up in this series!!!
Just when I thought I'd have a handle on what was coming next, I was shockingly mistaken. I also continue reading this series and wonder why its not made into a movie yet,🤔
I will not give any details as some do, but I'm standing solid on diving into the next one. Just hope my family forgives my lack of attention while doing so.
This book was good like the other two. In this book, Yvonna has Swoopes come after her hard to try and kill her. Bricks is trying so hard to keep her safe. She is also seeing the real side of Penny also. Yvonna also finds out that one of her personalities is actually a real person! You gotta read this book to find out everything that happens! On to the 4th book!
I'm happy things started to look better for Yvonna. She had calmed dwn a lot in this book but Gabriella came to full front when she had to. Bricks I love him for loving Yvonna. Terrell wwwoooww is all I got to say. Book 4 here I come
It seems like Yvonna has found her calling and is somewhat happy just can’t commit. I’m wondering about what Gabriella had to tell her though and if the baby is going to take a turn for the worst
This book calmed down a lot following the previous two books, but still made for a good read. All the action, excitement and drama in the previous ones had me hooked, however this one just seemed a little too slow and uneventful. Seems like Yvonna just can't seem to get her happy ending, and most likely won't anytime soon! Reign does a great job of connecting each book with the last and preparing the reader for the next. Shyt List 4 is definitely on my upcoming to be read list.
I went between three and four stars on this. I wish I could make my mind up easier but how can I rate this like I want? I probably don't need to mention the state of the "editing" do I? Anyone who reads reviews I write already know my feelings and this one was just as bad. I truly with something would be done about this - how can the world take seriously a book like this when it's basically not even edited properly? How can the publisher, the author, anyone involved with the book. expect to ever find new readers? Or keep old ones? I'm not English major, I use slang, but I also know proper editing apparently, while these folks do not. I'll just put it like this - there is not even one page that I could open the book to where one could claim there is no mistake. Not one page. How truly sad. On to the story... it took off right where 2 left off, from what I remember and this is one of the very few series that I can remember. Mainly because I adore Yvonna. :D No author that I've seen has ever made such a hatable character relatable. (I use the word "relatable" loosely by the way.) As much as I usually don't like sequels, prequels, and series, the opening for part 4 is pretty damn good. I can totally see the story going where Styles is taking it. This is one series I won't be happy to see end. (I'd be downright depressed when it ends if the editing in the next one is up to par.) There isn't much else to say - this is different urban fiction by an author who knows how to portray 'crazy' - unlike Ashley Antoinette in The Prada Plan. I'd recommend going back and reading the two previous books before this - I suppose they can all stand alone but it's definitely a high reading them in order.
Yvonne still at it, but she works hard to charge, but with her past hunting her it makes it harder to change when Gabriella seems to make her way through. With a new character Bricks that's from her past coming to save her makes it harder for him as Swoopes is out of prison and determined to get revenge and Bricks is caught in the middle. Yvonne and Bricks grow close which makes it harder for Yvonne to love and get close. Penny wants Yvonne's baby girl by all means. Terrell, Yvonne's ex is still in love with her and working hard to find out why Yvonne is the way she is. While others out to get Yvonne she's just trying to make a new life for her and her baby girl.
Overall again a great read...few grammar issues where words are missing or writer confuse me when the character is a she and writer says he and vice verse. Overall I enjoy the thrill and excitement of yet another book with Yvonne.
May spoil it if you read this. . . Good read indeed! I usually stop reading a series on about the 3rd or 4th book but I am very interested in how this with Yvonna ends. Yvonna isn't as bad as she was in the 1st 2 books, if I remember right but she still was not to be phucked with! Loved Bricks in here, I didn't like how she was leading both Bricks and Terrell on as if she was going to be with both of them. So now that the Gabriella thing is figured out, does it mean she no longer will have multiple personalities? It seemed liked that is what we are supposed to get out of that, not sure there. There are 2 more books, I'm assuming those will tell us about that and she will have to answer for the wrong she has done, she can't just go on and not have to. Her daughter is turning into her all over again, I hope the story doesn't start to repeat itself, just with her daughter as the character. I really like Reign as an author and look forward to reading more.
I just can't say enough about this book. It is a non-stop read. I read all three books in hours. I just kept hitting download on my Kindle. I was extremely disappointed that the 4th installment to this saga isn't being released until midyear. If you love or enjoy Street-Lit you will definitely find this series to be a winner! Ms. Reign is talented and her words flow smoothly across the pages were your lost in the book like a person in each scene watching as the chaos and mayhem unfolds and feeling the emotions of each distraught, destroyed and psychologically damaged character.
All I can say is wow can't wait until I read part four this stiry is getting more weirder but the second but man Yvonna went through a lot as a child even if this fiction they story about the abuse, mentally, physically, even sexually is true. There are a lot of horible thing children even adult go through it shame that children have to go though it.
i started this serious because my mom gave me the first two and i read them in 2 days so when i found out there was a third book i had to read it and let me tell u it was on point... cant wait until the 4th book
Shyt list 3 by reign 6/8/14 rate 5 stars this book picked up right were book 2 ended Yvonne is still at it but is trying to be a better person for her baby however things don't go as she want them and is forced to do some evil things
Storyline remains intense & interesting as more secrets & background information revealed...Crystal & Swoopes belong together...Bricks is proving to be a great friend & protector for Yvonna--she definitely needs her meds. Good read
