I'm an avid fan of mystery stories. I started reading Agatha Christie novels at an early age. My favourite fiction detective is Poirot, I love his fussy ways and his attention to small details. I love the TV series, 'Murder She Wrote' and have watched every episode. I like working out who the killer is, and what the clues are.

I live near Leeds, Yorkshire, which is in the north of England. My two daughters live with me and they are understanding about my passion for mystery shows! I've now discovered 'Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries'.

I've been wanting to write my own mystery stories for years - and now I finally have.

Once again, really easy, quick and good read with unexpected twists that keep you engaged. particularly enjoyed the portrayal of the close-knit school community and the genuine care between its members. This murder investigation seems to be one of the most challenging for Julia, given her closeness to both the suspects and the eventual murderer. Few times I thought okay then who the hell did it, and my suspicions shifted multiple times, adding to the intrigue. Although I can't say I'm thrilled with the identity of the murderer, I appreciate the explanation provided. Oh, and my heart went out to Cain. I actually missed the dynamic duo, and I hope the next book brings them back together for another thrilling investigation.

Who killed the school head mistress?

Julia offers to assist with the school tombola. However the head mistress dies soon after the event. Who killed her? There is no shortage of suspects. DI Clarke is gruff as ever, and Julia's mom has a large presence in this story. Enjoy.

Gillian's books can not disappoint me at all! Always good characters and just enough twist for a good read. Julia is a walking magnet for dead bodies :) Poor Cain, this time he got really bad punch, so I wanted to go into the book and hug him. Thanks for the new story!

Julia Blake owns a cleaning business. As a last-minute request, she decides to help clean up the school grounds for a fair.

The whole thing was pretty slow. I was just waiting for a dead body to show up. Nothing but proper jibber-jabber.

There were enough red herrings and twists and turns to keep me reading to the end. However, I didn't have any problem putting the book down when my reading time was up.

A Fair Murder is another exciting cozy mystery in the Julia Blake series. Once again, the author gives us a book that does not disappoint! I don't remember how I discovered Gillian Larkin but I am glad that I did. Her writing just keeps getting better with each book.

I enjoy all the characters involved with Julia. She seems to always discover a dead body and likes to solve it much to the dismay of the town detective. Julia has a caring family that you'll also love. They are down to earth people that also add humor to the story.

I definitely recommend this book and the entire series about Julia Blake. This is one that all cozy lovers should not miss!

Characters and storyline make for a great read!

A well-written cozy mystery is a joy to find and this one fits the bill! The characters are fun to get to know and the mystery has just enough twists to make it a challenge. I couldn't wait to read the ending, but I wanted the book to last. Love Gillian Larkin's books! Enjoy!

The obvious editing errors got in the way of the story. She must have set a Guinness Record for the number of times she used the word "towards."

An interesting cozy mystery if you like that sort of thing. Characters are okay - plot is not too hard to figure out early.
