A newborn lamb, curly-tailed piglets, a mother hen and her chicks -- all the barnyard favorites are here in superb close-up photos. Why do pigs play in the mud? Where do milk and wool come from? Simple text and detailed illustrations will satisfy inquisitive preschoolers who are busy learning about the world around them.
I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do so.
I was born in Yorkshire in England, but grew up in Stranraer, a small town in south-west Scotland. I graduated from Edinburgh University and then came down to London, where I have lived ever since. I enjoy reading novels, watching films, and walking in the countryside.
This book is very good for children to get to know what kind of animals live in the farm like cow, sheep, chicken, pig, horse, duck, goat, and farm dog. . The book give excellent information about each animal, for example, a mother sheep is called “ewe” and ewe has her lambs in the spring times. I like when he use real pictures for animals. Content: 1- A baby cow called a calf. 2- When pig gets hot they lie down in wet mud to keep cool. 3- Ducks eat worms, waterweeds, and seeds. 4- The milk from the goat usually turned into cheese.
This book can be used it in circle time and can be put in the children’s library and in the dramatic play area. Also it will be a good chance for children to have a trip to one of the farms so they can see all farm animals or children can watch a movies about farm animals too.
