Donna O'Neeshuck cannot understand why she is being chased by cows, mooses, gooses, and a host of others, until she discovers that her head pats are irresistable
I happened upon this fabulous book in a local indie bookstore when my daughter, who is now 23, was very young. It quickly became one of her favorites to listen to, and one of my favorites to read. (In fact, I can still recite the first several pages for you any time you're interested.) The illustrations are silly and fun and the story is goofy and endearing. I highly, highly recommend it to all parents and kids.
When I was in elementary school the author came and did a book reading followed by a book signing. This was one of the books he read and was by far my very favorite. It's a silly, rhyming story that's fun to read aloud to kids and has some truly fantastic art that fills the entire page. I can't read this without smiling and I'm pretty certain there isn't a single person who could.
"Head pats." They said, "We want pats on our head." I LOVE this book. Probably out of print by now but fortunately I have my own copy and this story WILL be inflicted on my darling grandson! ;-)
This is one of my all-time favorite picture books for children. The verse jumps off the pages as you read it aloud. I love the rhyme, and children love it, too!
