2⭐️ had the unfortunate task of reading this for my walking class. it’s definitely a book. chapter five quite literally calls muffin top “unsightly.” like ok king go off! the first few chapters focus on the benefits of walking, and so many of the statistics are aimed at women losing weight. and of course this has to be written by a middle aged white man. i find it all the more concerning that this book was required reading in a school of public health course. like is this the standard we are comfortable setting for the literature we consume? it is just one of the most poorly written and edited things i’ve ever read. sorry frank. otherwise he makes good points i guess. like if you know nothing about walking, read this i guess?? but also i think you can find better information elsewhere. and while i admire this random guy’s passion for walking, i think it would do him good to learn basic grammar and comma rules. it was actually such a hard read for the errors alone. i would be his editor though if he let me.
I find myself thinking of some of the pointers presented in this suggestion filled book on walking. I am sure everyone could find a few things to inspire greater commitment to walking and incorporate into their walking programs. I am not a fan of statistics or orthodox medicine and their diagnosis, so I skipped over information of that kind, and do not feel less informed as a result.
If you are new to walking for fitness this book will provide all the basics to get you started and keep you motivated. It’s a bit repetitious at times but the author is an enthusiastic proponent of walking and offers numerous tips to keep your walks fun and interesting. It appears he also has a website which I have not visited yet.
Good over all and Great tips. Kinda dragged on things I didn’t need help on like what shoes to wear or clothes but other than that good statistic and very informative. Very good for beginners.
