A good mini series. I think this should have been a 5 issues series as it was a bit rushed towards the end. The first issue was very good and in keeping with Hellchild from the other series. Even issue two was good, issues three and four were a lot slower then the big finale rushed.

The perfect metaphor for this book is Hellchild herself. She is losing her half deity power since the death of her father. This series is less action pack that previous I have read of Hellchild. Though there is unfinished business here and a spark of whe she is capable of.

The plus point of this series is that the lack of action does give a bit more character development of Hellchild. Her loyalty to her friends, and she is more that just a mercenary she does care about people who cannot defend themselves. The us also a bonus story of her using her street smarts, reputation and butt kicking ways. There also a full page cover gallery of covers A, B, C, D and E (for issue 1).

A good volume, not the best, but it keeps me interested in the character, and what happens next.

Hellchild is an interesting character. Daughter of Hades that was bitten by Dracula and now has demigod and vampire powers. She is reminiscent of 1990s bad girl comic characters and this is a very good thing. However, this story and art is average. Hellchild deserves better.

Hellchild, Angelica Blackstone, takes on a kidnapping cartel where humans are auctioned off to the highest bidding supernatural creatures. Plenty of bloody action. Highly recommended.
