This series is amazing. The characters intertwine in each book. This one introduces you to Ariana and John (Riot)..and the adorably stinky Mr. Darcy..Arianas rescue dog. Ariana has made a bad choice in trusting her boyfriend , Paul Chen . She was completely fooled by his charm. When she ends up in jail for something he did, she realizes her life is in jepordy. Refusing to go into the witness protection program until Pauls trial she has a few FBI agents protecting her. Riot comes home from a 3 month deployment as a Seal on the Charlie team. He has met Ariana before he left and couldnt get her off his mind. Finding out about her trouble, his need to protect her becomes his reason for living. I love how these two characters connect with each other. He is strong, sexy, and very confident in his Seal abilities...but is it enough to protect Ariana and keep her alive especially when the FBI falls short? She is stubborn,very sure of keeping everyone around her out of harms way. Then theres Mr. Darcy, the dog she rescues. She loves him with all her heart, even if he is the stinkiest farting machine that ever lived.lol I like how the relationship with all 3 grows. I highly recommend reading this book and the series to meet these amazing characters.

Riot (John) is an active duty SEAL. While recovering from an injury a friend who's also an FBI agent asks him to covertly keep an eye on Ariana (Ari) a key witness who lives in John's apartment building. John who was smitten from the moment he saw her in the gym readily agrees. Ari watches his plant when he deploys. Upon his return he stops by to pick up his plant and invites her to dinner, planning to let he know he wants to date her. After dinner they return to find her apartment ransacked. When the FBI tries to put her in a safe house, John offers his place as a safe alternative. Ari confides in John how she was betrayed by her ex a Chinese spy and why the feds want her to testify. The Chinese spies kidnap her bestie in their desperation to retrieve a drive they believe her ex left with Ari. John calls on his team with help from Eagle Security to find the bad guys and save his girl.

I mean really, I LOVED this story SO..SOOOOO HARD! It is fast paced, action packed suspense, with mind blowing romance that is HOT HOT HOT! This is the perfect re-write of Protecting Ariana and will have newbies clamoring for Miss James's other books. This story here is why I enjoy military romance so much. It makes me crave a sexy hero and some amazing action and suspense that can add some much needed zest to my reading and life.

Another wonderful addition to the Beyond Valor series! John"Riot" Dillon has been keeping an unofficial eye on his neighbor Ariana while recovering from injuries on his last mission. Ariana has refused Witness Protection or a safe house while waiting to testify against her former boyfriend. Even when John is cleared for active duty and deployed with his Seal team, he can't stop thinking about her and worrying about her safety. When he returns home, Ariana is still in danger and it appears that the FBI is dropping the ball. Wanting nothing more than a future with Ariana, keeping her safe will take his entire team, old friends, and, of course, Mr. Darcy!

An excellent read, at first piqued my interest, then kept it immersed with all the plots, espionage and Gov't alphabet soup agencies involved. Thank goodness for neighbors who are seals, eh? John just wanted to keep Ari safe, and realized he'd have to call in his brothers to get to the bottom of this mess.
A well-written journey, fast-paced and easy to follow, it keeps you on the edge quite a bit. There's bits of humor laced in to add some levity, and Mr. Darcy is a funny, lovable, and I swear, empathetic d.o.g. that will grab your heart.

If I needed protection like Ariana did, I would definitely want John and his "brothers" to do it. Even when he was far away from her, his mind was always on her. She chose the wrong person and it landed her in a pickle. Thankfully, Collin did the right thing and asked his college roommate to keep an eye on Ariana. When things start going south, John calls in the troops to save the day. I love that the two pretty much fell each other at first sight...despite the noxious gas emanating from one cute dog.

This is the story of John and Ari. If you've read the other stories then you met John in Chase's story. They were the on the same seal team and mission when both were hurt. John was able to return Chase started ESP. Ask was caught up in a case where her ex boyfriend was involved in espionage and needed protection. Enter the FBI and Collin pulling in John and the sparks start flying. That's just the first chapters. I think you will enjoy this story, I know I did.

The perfect book to end my 2019 reading challenge.
A Soldier's Temptation has been revised and expanded from it's previous release. It's has the perfect mix of tension, romance and light relief in the form of the handsome Mr Darcy. It is an excellent addition to Lynne St. James's Beyond Valor series and I highly recommend to those who enjoy military romance as well as someone looking for something new.

The latest installment of the Beyond Valor series is the best yet! I love this series and Lynne St. James has done it again. Ariana has had to put up with the FBI's presence in her life for a year because she trusted the wrong man. Enter John "Riot" Dillon. He helps protect her until he is sent on a mission. When he gets back, he and Ariana are on the road to their HEA, accompanied by a lot of twists and turns. Nobody ever said the road to love was easy. Get this book ASAP. You won't be sorry

Another interesting book. I love a book with plenty of action. Not any steam, but hey I love a good story line where every other chapter isn't about sex. Ari and her friend went thru a lot, but she always had John on her side. They had to figure out who was after Ari. She didn't want to go to WITSEC, so John is protecting her. Love the dog, stink bombs and all. Excellent story.

John had met Ari and bought a jade plant just so he could ask her to house sit his plant. As neighbors he watched out for her and when she gets a threatening email, he asks if they could go out to dinner. When they returned Air discovers her apartment had been ransacked. Now John becomes the true Navy seal he is.

Action and Romance
Loved this! It has everything that makes a darn good story. A story that catches you from the start and doesn't let go until the end. There's drama with terrorists and kidnapping. How about romance with a SEAL. There's even some lol moments with a furry friend named Mr. Darcy. It's a keeper.

Wow. What can I say. Who wouldn't want a tall, built, handsome man who thinks, first and foremost, of protecting the woman he loves. Loved this expanded story. Look forward to the next one and the one after that.

This story is not up to the level of the previous stories in the series. The insta-love that isn't is not up to the level of either of the author's series. The ending is like a bike rider hitting his brake suddenly to avoid hitting a pedestrian, almost too little too late.

Like this series
Other than a lousy proofreader to fix the mistakes made the story was good. Mr Darcy made me chuckle when least expected, he was a fun character.

Riot had been injured on a mission. His friend and old roommate Colin who is now with the FBI has asked him to keep an eye on the woman who lives in the same apartment building. It's no hardship for him since he has developed feelings for her.
Ariana is under protection with the FBI until she testifies against her ex.
She has a crush on John "Riot" but feels her judgement can't be trusted. As she spends time with him after her apartment was trashed, she wonders if that could change.

I enjoyed the changes to the original story. John falls for Ari while secretly keeping a watch over her while she is under the protection of the FBI from her ex. With the help of his team, John works to protect her. They become closer as the danger to her grows. Great story!
