3 Men: Beneath the bright lights

Rate this book
3 Men is a contemporary literary fiction about a teenage mum who has grown tired of the drug fuelled gang culture which has been her family since she left school but she has trouble picturing what other life there could be for a girl like her. The influences of three male figures lay the foundations for Heidi Connolly’s future and help her to reconcile her past and move forward to leave her beloved London, which is the only constant she has ever known. The book is dark and gritty, although still written with humour and expectation.

A very substantial first novel! Pursues good, strong valid themes and sets them in realistic East London locations on the edges of the metropolis. Strongly written and full of everyday drama, well worth a read.
