A badass combat medic will do anything to save her friend and teammate, but on the run from some very bad guys, she starts to look at her tattooed tech geek friend in a very different way…

Callie’s childhood and career in the Air Force taught her to never risk loving anyone, because losing them leaves you bleeding. She has everything she needs as the medic for Team 52, and when Brooks gets abducted, she’ll do anything to get her friend back. But when they end up on the run together, Callie starts to see the hunky geek in a very different light.

Mission: Her Freedom by Anna Hackett is Book 6 in the Team 52 action-adventure/suspense series which includes standalone romances. And this one might be one of, if not the best entry to the series yet.

Callie Kimura is a former Air Force combat medic whose purpose in life is to save the lives of others; a mission because she couldn't save the lives of the most important people in the world to her after a car accident. She loves her place in Team 52, surrounded by like-minded friends who've become more like family. I'm telling you, I want to be a part of their squad so bad.

But when Brooks Jameson, the team's tech guru, gets kidnapped and tortured for information, Callie makes it her new mission to rescue him and bring him home. The pair escape, but Callie also brings back something surprising during that time... new, confusing, and horny thoughts about Brooks. Her teammate and friend.

Of course Brooks always noticed how gorgeous Callie is. And seriously badass. But he knows a woman like that is way out of his league. He may have grown up from a bullied high school nerd that popular girls could use as a dirty secret into a tattooed and solid man (with glasses still), but he still can't imagine someone like Callie going for a guy like him.

But as the team battles against the clock to find a deadly ancient artifact, Callie and Brooks can't shake off their new awareness of each other, the new fears at seeing the other one run into danger. Because of Callie's past, and in her line of work, she's had to protect her heart against the inevitable loss of the people she loves. But when it comes to Brooks, Callie has to decide if letting him fully in is worth the risk.

If anyone knows my reading habits, you know that friends-to-lovers is something I shy away from, definitely not my preference in reading. But since I'm trying to be a Anna Hackett completionist and read all her works, I picked up Mission: Her Freedom, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I found myself invested in Callie and Brooks. I loved seeing their new awareness of each other, and how they couldn't seem to stay away from each other when the line was inevitably crossed. Having great chemistry and being both likeable characters helped tremendously as well, along with a tight narrative that got to the point with no unneeded fluff. It told the story it wanted to tell, and the end. Loved it.

Can't wait for the next in the series. It's Axel and Nat's story, another teammates-to-lovers type trope, but after this book, I definitely have more hope going in.

I liked the story. The pair was so sexy! A muscled, tattooed genius geek and a badass, former field medic Soldier. The attraction hit them out of nowhere and I enjoyed reading how they navigated through all the danger and found each other and love.
Action sequences and artifacts mystery was also done well.
Loved reading about the former characters.
Excited for Axel’s story next.
Recommended.

Oo it's been a while since this author gave her readers a team 52 book but it was good to be back in Vegas with them. This story start with poor geeky Brooks in serious trouble as he's been attacked and taken by mad men hoping to use a powerful and destructive artefact. Good thing his teammate Callie is suspicious when he doesn't show up but pretty soon she's in just as much trouble as he is !
I have to commend this author on her imagination because she always gives her readers a fast paced and outrageous story. The romance this time is hot and heavy but actually felt pretty believable. Obviously there's the tricky problem of the bad guys to foil but this couple sure do get pulled through the mill along the way. Still with a little ingenuity and a whole lot of mad skills you just know that team 52 will save the day and do so in spectacular style !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I think Callie and Brooks might be my favorite couple of the whole series so I really enjoyed MISSION: HER FREEDOM. Brooks is everything I love in a hero; he's smart and nerdy, sexy, and he has tattoos! *swoons* He has no reason to believe that Callie wouldn't find him attractive but he still sees himself as the dorky teenager who can't keep the girl. There's something really sweet about Brooks but he's also not afraid to kick butt, especially when Callie is in trouble.

I also really loved Callie and I have a girl crush on this tough, take no prisoners woman. She's used to keeping people at a distance after a traumatic loss but Brooks has always been there for her ever since they met. Their friendship is completely solid but when Brooks is kidnapped Callie begins to realize how important he is to her. Callie goes through a lot of self discovery in MISSION: HER FREEDOM as she lets Brooks break through her shell.

My review :

When a kick-@$$ medic falls for the tech head of the team, will she risk their friendship and her heart ...

When I saw in Mission : Her Safety, that Brooks will be featured in this one, despite a crazy reading schedule, I needed to get my hand on this book as soon as possible.
And now even I have not been able to finish it this night, I am walking like a zombie but yes, I loved it.
I am a historical romance reader, so why read this book and this author.
There is one thing I am always assured, it is you ask Mrs Anna Hackett, and she delivers.
I am never disappointed, and her heroes, yummy...
And, even better, the hero this time is a geek, the one always overlooked, in my historical reader’s language a scholar and a wallflower.
Why nothing could have stopped me to read Brooks’ story, not even the promise of walking next to my shoes the day after.
And what a rollercoaster ride it was.
Brooks is everything I love in a hero, he is smart and kind, no alpha but bad@$$ in his own way, he is a magician with his fingers and a keyboard. He saves his team with his brain but can also hold his own if needed in combat.
He is so charming with Callie, never taking anything for granted and full of patience and understanding.
Callie is the Wonder Woman of the team, she fights but looks after the others too. Yet she hides her scars behind a cheerful personality and no real commitment outside her job.
It will need a nice and steadfast man to show her love is not about loss but gain.

5 stars for this adventure full of twists and turns.

"I love you, Brooks Jameson. Your body, your tattoos, your brain, your smile, your glasses."

4.25 stars

This was a nonstop, steamy, and action-packed story! I do wish we could have gotten to see more of a buildup of attraction between Brooks and Callie before they are kidnapped together, but I loved how they complimented each other. Both Brooks and Callie were hesitant to act on their attraction at first not only because they're coworkers but also because they've been hurt by love in the past. However, the more intense their interactions become, the less they are able to fight the building crescendo between them. I really loved their dynamic between the rest of Team 52 as well and look forward to Axel's story🖤

Tropes: opposites attract, workplace romance, tattooed nerdy hero, badass heroine, kidnapped MCs, 'save the world' mission, hurt/comfort, romantic suspense, dirty talk, STEAMY🔥

My favorite of the Team 52 series! (And I loved Smith & Kinsey's story.) Brooks Jameson is physically hotter than any computer geek I've read--but he still had the brilliant intellect, social awkwardness, easily distracted by his tech attention span and geeky soul that made him a wonderful hero. It was that part of him that I, too, would fall in love with and want to protect, just like the team's medic, Callie Kimura.

Callie was a tough chick by training, but a gentle flower by personality and life history. When Brooks gets kidnapped, she is the one who finds her friend and rescues him. Well, they both end up kidnapped and they both rescue each other.

Out of all the Team 52 stories thus far, this one had the emotional feels I wanted.
As always, the action scenes were fantastic, the sex was steamy, the bad guys were all kinds of bad, and the team vibe with the community of characters was what drew me to try the series in the first place.

Mission: Her Freedom (Team 52, #6) has action, suspense, mystery, danger and romance and is just as good the second time reading as the first.

Anna writes sexy and heroic well. You dont want to miss it.

Sexy, alpha men and women who protect and find their someone. When someone evil wants to take over the world and ancient artifacts are involved so is Team 52.

A great read.

Callie and Brooks

He’s the tech guy of Team 52 so why was he kidnapped and facing torcher? What did they want and would Team 52 even know he was missing?

Callie’s instincts were telling her she needed to check on Brooks when he didn’t show up to a team get together. She tracts him to an abandoned building site where she goes in to save him.

Callie and Brooks were hot together. I found the artifact story a little weak this time around.

BEST COVER OF THE SERIES!!!

Geek sure can Dirty Talk.
I was really excited about Brooks Because I love his t-shirts and his sense of humor. But I was just a little disappointed. It may be just that I've read too many of these too close together. Seems like they're all starting to run together.

Two more members of Team 52 take the fall. While I felt the chemistry between Callie and Brooks, I didn’t necessarily feel their connection. This was still an enjoyable read full of action and romance.

Brook and Callie ... finally

He is a tattooed computer genius with a crush a bad ass marine medic, Callie.
He is mobbed and taken by fanatics... but Callie had a bad feeling. So she tries to work out where he was ... then she finds a valued(by Brook) computer part lying on the road and a group of pedestrians tell her of a fight where a guy got taken...
They have to contend with a fanatic who intends to ‘cleanse the world’ for the righteous to create nirvana using an artefact her own father tried to hide from her.
She had created a religion to finance her ambitions and she expects everyone to follow her vision.
They survive escaping into the desert and being marooned on an island and their own demons to do battle in Las Vegas.

Брукс Джеймисън и Кали Кимура

description

Originally published at Reading Reality

This is a very different take on whether the ends justify the means than yesterday’s book. Although there are other similarities.

Both are in the romantic suspense/action adventure vein, so in both stories the romance is fast and adrenaline fueled from the very beginning.

But Brooks Jameson and Callie Kimura’s romance, while it happens fast and furious, doesn’t come out of complete left field. Well, it does to them, but not to the reader. Because these two people know each other, maybe not intimately as the story opens, but certainly well, as both are members of the elite covert black ops Team 52.

So this is a friends-into-lovers story, and very much so. Team 52 is a very tight-knit group of mostly former elite military operatives and by this point in the series its clear that they’ve been working together very successfully for quite a while.

It’s just that Brooks and Callie have rather different roles in the team, roles that mean that they don’t interact as much as Shaw and Claudia do in Hell Squad, for example. Brooks and Callie are not both operatives at the pointy end of the Team 52 spear.

Instead, Brooks is their tech guru and Callie is the team medic. She goes out with the team while Brooks stays back at the bunker and coordinates the ops. Not that he’s not just as ripped as the rest of the guys, but he’s not really trained to take down baddies with a gun – only with a keyboard.

So when Brooks gets kidnapped, Callie is the one who rides to his rescue. When they both end up captured, they each discover new and interesting facets of a person that they thought they knew and already liked. Being forced to depend on each other and only each other changes their relationship in ways that neither expected – and neither is completely sure is a good idea.

But the case that Team 52, and especially Brooks, have been dragged into is one that they can’t ignore – since it keeps reaching out to get them. Whether Brooks and Callie will have a chance to explore the spark between them has to take second place to a crazy woman with an artifact that can draw not just sparks, but thunder and lightning out of the sky on command.

Lightning that she’s aiming straight at Team 52.

Escape Rating B: There were parts of this one that I really liked, and parts that didn’t work quite as well. Overall, I had a good reading time. I just have quibbles. I often have quibbles.

I love a good friends-into-lovers romance, and Mission: Her Freedom is definitely that. (I can’t figure out how this has anything to do with Callie’s freedom exactly but then I generally find the titles in this particular series a bit cheesy.)

I think that where this one drove me a bit batty was in the early stages. That some baddies go after Brooks so that he can hack into his own security to retrieve an artifact makes sense. The baddies in this series are usually very bad so this is a very plausible opening. That the team needs to rescue him because there are just so damn many of them also works.

But when Callie manages to locate where Brooks is being kept, she goes in alone to rescue him. If she’s as good an operative as the Team usually is, that shouldn’t happen unless there’s an imminent threat to Brooks’ life – which there isn’t. All she does is spook the baddies into taking them both away to someplace that the team doesn’t have a bead on – making the rescue take longer and giving those baddies something to threaten Brooks with – and vice versa. She made the situation more dangerous by going in half-arsed and should have been dressed down for it – but wasn’t.

So this one went off the rails for me a bit at that point even though everything that came after worked really well. Your reading mileage may vary.

One of the differences between the Treasure Hunter Security series that spawned Team 52 and Team 52 itself is that the THS baddies were all about the money. Not that there wasn’t plenty of crazy, but money was at the heart. After all, the love of money is the root of all evil and those evildoers had plenty of roots.

This particular entry in Team 52 isn’t about the money at all. It’s about the crazy, which goes back to my comment at the beginning about the ends justifying the means. There’s always an artifact on the loose at the center of a Team 52 story. In this case, the artifact is the wind jewel that can call storms – deadly storms.

It’s the reason – for really, really loose definitions of the word “reason” – that brings the crazy into this particular entry into the series. Because the person who is conjuring storms in the worst possible places is doing it to “cleanse” the world of what she thinks of as unworthy people – so that the rest can live in what she thinks of as utopia. But will undoubtedly be anything but.

She’s convinced that her “ends”, her goal of making the world a “better” place filled with only the “best” people, justifies her means, by which I mean mass murder on a global scale. It could be said that she means well, at least if one squints (a LOT) but she certainly doesn’t do well. Making this a much simpler question about ends and means than yesterday’s book.

She’s crazy, she has to be taken down – and the wind jewel locked away – and there’s no question about it being the right thing for Team 52 to get the job done!

4.5 enthusiastic Stars for MISSION: HER FREEDOM, book#6 in Anna Hackett’s TEAM 52 Action/Adventure Contemporary Romance series. I love the book cover! It is absolutely perfect for Callie & Brooks! ❤️
My rating guide: 1= dnf/What was that?; 2= Nope, not for me; 3= I MOSTLY Enjoyed it; 4= Yes, I LIKED IT A LOT; 5= I Loved it, IT WAS GREAT!

I was delighted with book #6, HER FREEDOM, a Friends to Lovers story that begins with Team members former Air Force combat medic and former Air Force Para rescue Callie Kimura and hunky former Naval Intelligence Officer Brooks Jameson. Brooks/MMC is an extremely talented Communications expert. He turned down lucrative offers from a number of big businesses when choosing Team 52. As their brilliant tech geek, Brooks can hack into any database and quickly obtain detailed information allowing the team to act promptly and effectively in the field. As the team’s medic, Callie/FMC is dedicated and loyal to her team. She’s both competent in field operations and also the person most capable of saving lives if serious injuries occur on a job. When Brooks fails to attend an informal team celebration, Callie’s “trouble” radar begins to Ping. Searching for Brooks, she soon discovers he hadn’t missed the party voluntarily. Someone wants obscure information about an unknown antiquity and knows Brooks is capable of getting it. His life means nothing to them. HER FREEDOM is Brooks and Callie’s story.

HER FREEDOM in Hackett’s TEAM 52, 8 book Action/Adventure Romance series (with a few “unworldly” elements) features a secret Covert Black Ops Team based near Area 51, NV. Recruited from the best soldiers completing service in US military forces, the select members comprising TEAM 52 have accepted the highly classified duty and danger involved while collecting and storing artifacts with para/unusual abilities recently discovered worldwide, originating from unknown ancient civilizations. The TEAM 52 series follows this team as they travel and respond to related global emergencies and situations, safely disposing dangerous antiquities.

HER FREEDOM can be read as a standalone title but since each book in the series features a different TEAM 52 member, the main characters from previous and latter books do overlap. HER FREEDOM was an intense, gripping story featuring a strong, capable woman and a honorable, former military, alpha-guy that appreciates the strength and ability she brings to the fight. I enjoy the occasional Quirky humor and writing that prevents Hackett’s novels from becoming too drama laden or angst-filled. Up til now, books #1 & #2 (Her Protection and Her Rescue) were my favorites in this series but HER FREEDOM ticked all the boxes for me as well. I enjoyed watching and believed the progression of Brooks and Callie’s friendship-camaraderie as it developed into something more. Together, they created a solid unit, strengthening each other with their own talents and perspectives. Perhaps due to the high tension, HER FREEDOM seemed to contain an excess of profanity - my only negative. Sexuality is present as well, but it felt right with Callie and Brooks. I still enjoyed their story very much. I look forward to reading the last 2 books in the series with the remaining members’ stories.

Anna Hackett has written a number of Action-Adventure-Romance series both in Space Opera & Dystopian genres as well. TEAM 52 is the 5th Anna Hackett Action-Adventure series I’ve read so far; they are all among my favorite series in any genre. If you enjoy HER FREEDOM be sure to check out other works by Anna Hackett.

*READER CAUTION - Readers who prefer only Clean fiction will want to look elsewhere. Not recommended for YAs.
VIOLENCE - Yes. Covert Spec Ops action with an abduction , torture scenes (latter mostly off page) and gun fights. High PG-13.
PROFANITY - Yes. Frequent use of strong language.
SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes. The 2 main characters are attracted to each other and their friendship develops into Steamy and Detailed intimate scenes, ending with joint commitment and a HEA.

As with any Anna Hackett book, the reader can expect to be entertained with her vivid imagination; this is true with this book as well.  Brooks Jameson is the computer guru for Team 52.  In this book, Brooks has been kidnapped because some nasty folks want him to break into the Team 52 database and find some information for them on a special artifact.  He refuses, and torture ensues.  Callie Kimura and Brooks are good friends, and when he doesn’t show for an event he had been looking forward to, Callie goes looking for him.  Through a few fortuitous lucky breaks, she learns about the kidnapping and even discovers information about the vehicle used to capture him.  Incredibly, as she drives around the northern parts of Las Vegas, she just happens to see a red car that matches the description of the vehicle for which she is searching.  Sometimes things get resolved ‘conveniently’ in Anna’s books, but if you can see past that slight issue, her books are wildly entertaining and just plain fun!  The characters also occasionally have a few ‘superhero’ abilities:  like walking untold miles to escape after being tortured, beat up, and shocked. Nevertheless, they are designed to be enjoyable adventures, and they succeed admirably.

There is plenty of witty banter, aided by expected as well as unexpected dangerous situations, and several injuries that have to be cleaned up and repaired.  And someone always falls in love.  In this case, it is a friends-to-lovers theme when Callie and Brooks figure out that there is more to their friendship that they want to explore.  These are all elements that readers have come to expect when picking up an Anna Hackett book.  Additionally, there is always someone that the reader loves to hate, because she makes her villains so spectacularly evil--and often very egotistical as well.

Team 52 is an amazing group of folks that work together seamlessly. They are the kind of people that you want to hang around (if only they were real!) and have by your side when things get dangerous. They travel in amazing vehicles, and have incredible weapons and healing protocols to use, and a seemingly unlimited budget.  These are all details that are based on the writer’s prerogative, and rightly so.

That’s what makes these stories so much darn fun!  Don’t expect reality, but delve into each story with the attitude that the reader will be taken on a roller coaster ride: there is lots of fun, a few scary moments, incredible highs and lows, some exciting adventures, and an ending that happens way too soon!

Brooks may be the resident tech geek for Team 52 but he is not your average Geek. He is tall, got muscles in all the right places and the ink...oh the ink that man has!!

He's spent most of his adult life trying to leave the former academically advanced but still naive boy he used to be behind. His family are all kick-ass, especially his mother (who I wanna be whn I grow up!). He;s the token brainaic, always feeling left out even though they are a very close family.

Callie became a pararescueman after the tragedy that tore her family apart left her with an innte need to heal and care for others. But lately the friendly joshing, flirting, seems to be on her mind more and more and she starts to have some very "hot" dreams starring her very own GeekGod.

Brooks still sees himself as the scrawny teenager against all the muscled brawn of his team-mates, even though he has one or two muscles of his own! But when Brooks gets kidnapped Callie leads the charge to get their man back.

Add in a fanatical church, top tier nutters, and an ancient relic capable of whipping up some very non Nevada approved weather and with the added tension between our scared-to-be-more-then-friends
duo and it is an action packed, fast-paced story. I loved hearing about Callie's back story, heartbreaking though it is. Brooks, that boy is hiding all sorts of fun stuff under his bushel! He may read a lot but some of them books must have been...ahem "Educational" if ya know what I mean. He sure knows his way around female anatomy! The team as usual takes everything in their stride but the threats to both Callie and Brooks not to hurt each other was fun!

This book brought me so much joy - I was up at 2am, sitting with a baby who refused to sleep, and when I spotted this was available it made my late night all the more bearable. I have read a LOT of Anna Hackett books this year, and she has a formula. Broadly speaking, the dude will be alpha with a soft centre, and the women will either be smart and feisty, or badass and feisty. So when I found out Brooks, the adorable geek with his never-ending supply of Star Wars t-shirts, was getting his own book, I was super curious to see how it would pan out.

And it panned out DELIGHTFULLY. Brooks definitely occupied the more traditionally female role in these books, stepping back and letting his heroine kick the necessary ass, but this was done so well - he was supportive, confident in his masculinity without needing to go caveman, and just calmly accepting that his heroine was better placed to kick butt, whereas his skills would be more beneficial behind the keyboard. Callie was such a great foil, and if you'd ask me a few weeks ago how I felt about friends to lover stories, I would have shrugged and said "meh", but now, after this and Josh and Hazel, apparently I'm a convert, because watching people move from the solid ground of friendship to mutual respect to lurve was just a pleasure and done particularly well in this book.

And as if I wasn't enjoying this enough, the book ends with a wonderful tease for a certain, long hinted at coupling, finally taking centre stage. I'm so glad Anna Hackett writes so fast.

What I Liked: I enjoyed this instalment. I thought the romance element was particularly strong. It was nice to see a different side to Brooks apart from him being a voice in an earpiece, and I liked that Callie’s character was fleshed out more. I thought the two of them had good chemistry and I really liked watching their relationship develop from friendship to more - it was done very well and I thought Hackett did a good job at setting up two friends beginning to have unexpected feelings for one another. Also, I enjoyed the role reversal - I liked that it was Callie worrying over his safety and not wanting him to be in danger.
What I Didn’t: The suspense plotline didn’t work very well for me, I thought it was a bit silly at parts. I liked the set up - it was interesting to have it be Brooks who was in need of saving - but I found the motivations behind the main villain a bit over the top.
Overall: I had fun reading it, particularly for the romance, but the suspense plotline needed a bit of work.
Would I Recommend It?: Yes, if you want a fun, fast-paced romantic suspense with a friends-to-lovers story.
Would I Read Something By The Author Again?: Yes.

I absolutely love this book! My favorite of the series hands down. The last book I enjoyed this much was Smith & Kinsey’s book. One the things I loved about this one was for one Callie was POC character and not many series have POC heroines as love interests. Callie was smart, caring and brave. She had a genuine friendship with Brooks. There wasn’t this instant list between them. He was gone for her but didn’t think he had a chance because of past experiences which I wish he shared it might have added more. He was sweet, funny and fairy untouched by the horrors of the job.

A tech geek who usually stayed safe at base but he didn’t hesitate to be in the action to help Callie. I love that the roles were reversed and he was the one to be protected. She slowly noticed him through their trials together and it excites me because I’m used to insta lust not friends to lovers. It was sweet. Brooks wasn’t confident that he had her attention romantically and learned to find ways to reach out to her. And boy when he did they were HOT. He’s so confident and sexy when they are together I loved it. I want my own Brooks.

They are easily my favorite pair in the series and I liked the artifact mission and the kind of mystery around it. Head great romance, friendship and action. I hope Anna does more unconventional pairings like this.

Another artifact with the potential to create global destruction in the hands of a psychopath who wants to rid the world od sin. Just another walk in the park for Team 52, right? Brooks Jameson, the Team's resident computer guru and all around nerd, but he's not without skills. When he's suddenly thrust into the action and kidnapped all of Callie Kimura's spidey senses are pinging after Brooks contacts the team to beg off a get together at Griffin's. She's the Team's highly skilled and ever protective medic. Her hyper vigilance in making sure that even the smallest of injuries are treated quickly and thoroughly come some a past devastating experience. One kidnapping leads to two which leads to torture for information. Although Callie and Brooks have never thought of each other as mote than friends, the dual captivity suddenly brings feelings to the surface that hadn't been there before. Or had they? A daring escape and trek through the desert give the two the chance to really connect. Now the hunt is on for the artifact and the crazy who may have it. Brooks insists are being front and center on each step of the quest which gets downright apocalyptic. The final takedown scenes are edge of your seat reading. But the best part is the love that develops between Brooks and Callie.

A whirlwind of action!
Team 52 is at it again. This time, a freak storm catches their attention. I do so love their ability to respond quickly, do in-depth research, and accurately surmise the source of the problems they face. Some of the fun of this series is looking up, for myself, the places and cultures the team is investigating!
I adore Brooks! What a brilliant mind he has. He comes up with some incredible solutions to problems they face, and although he’s not exactly the battling type, he manages well when things get tough. He and Callie really seem meant to be an ‘item.’ Callie is really something! She’s a go-getter, combat trained and rather impulsive. She can take care of herself (and others)- it’s her life’s mission, in fact. Watching their relationship change from friends to lovers is thrilling.
Between learning about each other and facing off the team’s newest enemy, there is never a dull moment. These people are going through he** and back! Whew! Fantastic storytelling, and a very exciting conclusion. Don’t miss it!

Brooks and Callie!!

I adore a friends to lovers trope. Brooks is the sweet, adorable, brilliant tech guy on Team 52 and Callie is the team medic. They have been friends for years until one fateful evening, Brooks is taken off the street by a group wanting a historic and dangerous artifact.

Callie knows something is wrong and goes off on her own to try and track down Brooks. She doesn’t have time to wait for the rest of the team and winds up in a dangerous situation that she and Brooks must work together to find safety. Upon their rescue, they share a new bond and an attraction that isn’t feeling very “friendly.” However, they both have their own personal demons to conquer. Brooks has some self esteem issues, worrying a girl like Callie would never be interested in him, and Callie knows loss and is afraid to open up her heart.

In the face of the team’s newest enemy, Brooks and Callie learn to navigate this growing attraction and find something so beautiful in the face of danger. Adored this book!!!

Omg I lo e Brooks and Callie

As I've said before I love almost everything Anna Hackett! Team 52 is a great series each one is better than the last. I loved Callie and Brooks relationship. True d's turned lovers is one of my favorites. As always this book was filled with intense action, adventure and passion. Watching the team take down another insane villain while passion ignites between two of the team's most Important players. Callie is an awesome badass combat medic who has some tragedy from her past that continues to haunt her and makes her read getting to close to any one. Brooks is the team resident gorgeous tech geek. He has his own issues from his past that makes him believe that he's not good enough. Throw a crazy woman who wants to cleanse the world so I my the worthy will survive and you've got a great action, adventure romance. I highly recommend this it was awesome and I can't wait for the next story. 💖

Medic Callie Kimura’s affection for IT guru Brooks Jameson makes her check that he actually went to the team celebration and didn’t get mesmerized by his new toy. Finding Brooks toy near his car and hearing Brooks was overpowered by a group of thugs, Callie wastes no time telling the team but can’t stand down when they hit a dead end.

Following her instincts, Callie goes to the dead end and searches until she finds Brooks but gets caught before she can rescue him. After being beaten and tortured, Callie and Brooks get back to the team and are able to tell them what their torturers were after. They just happen to be after a powerful artifact the team doesn’t have.

The team tracks and confronts the demented team leader whose people kidnapped Brooks and she cockily admits it. As the team scurries to locate the artifact before the enemy does, Brooks and Callie aren’t as discreet as they think they are.

“I’m feeling the need to save my soul,” Axel said. “Let’s go to church.” "Mission: Her Freedom" has just topped my list of great action-romance. Callie and Brooks were the cutest couple in this series and are now my new favorites. The storyline took a complete turn and had me on the edge of my seat. Taking down an unhinged "religious" fanatic was a twist I did not expect. I enjoyed the history lesson and "friends-to-lovers" story. I know that this type of troupe is nothing new, however, the way it was written in this story made it exciting. Brooks is such a sweetheart with his funny t-shirts. And Callie is really a doll with a heart of gold. They make the perfect couple. The series gets better with each book, and I look forward to reading the last few books in the series. Highly recommend it if you enjoy ass-kicking couples, history, and sexy love scenes. Now, time to find my Brooks!

Kidnapped because of his skills Brooks was in great danger. A powerful an extremely dangerous artifact in the hands of the enemy was causing havoc and threatening them all. Brook was a geek with a story of love disappointment and when his dire situation made him notice Callie, his old doubts resourced. Callie was still struggling with a guilt that she had not overcome despite her strength and skills. With Brook’s security at stake she had to draw strength and courage. Brook was passionate and showed he had more than one skill. Liked his character and how he made things work. Enjoyed the action, the suspense, the detailed narrations that made me visualize the scenes and the adventure that kept the characters moving through different scenarios and using their special weapons.
