Draconian Warriors #6

Draconians Queen

Rate this book

Sold from one species to another, isn't the dream I had when I signed up for an alien husband...

The promise of being electronically matched with a wealthy, handsome alien husband and going from a dying Earth, to a new healthy world, seemed like an impossible dream. After securing a successful match, I left with my meagre possessions and dreams of starting over...

Instead of a better life, our transport ship was raided and was abducted. Everyone else was sold off at various stops, until there was no one left but me. When my turn came, I fought to escape but failed miserably. Every species in the 'verse is bigger, stronger and more dominant than humans. I never stood a chance!

Sold from one species to another, I finally managed to slip away and quickly learn that escaping was the easy part. Actually surviving, turns out to be much more challenging. Only one alien will help me, and we survive by watching each other’s backs!

I attract the notice of a group of Draconian warriors. They speak my language and tell me, in no uncertain terms, what they want to do with me. Four drop dead gorgeous aliens, wanting a mate, would seem like a dream come true, except, each of them, is extremely dominant, and I’m not sure if this is just another way of being owned. I’ve had enough of being considered a possession, to last a lifetime. Bumping into me in the marketplace, doesn't make me a pretty trinket...

The bigger problem is, I’ve got a soft spot for men who make me feel safe and I'm growing more enamoured of them with each interaction. When they call me their Queen, I can’t help fantasising about allowing them to properly worship me. Those thoughts make me a bad, bad girl. Between avoiding my abductors and teasing the Draconian warriors, it's been non-stop action. When the adrenaline rush finally wears off, I realise that I have to end this before I end up enslaved again!

I absolutely loved this series!!! I know many will probably disagree because they don't like the fact that the men's are subservient to women but I find that fact very interesting plus it's all they know to keep themselves save and there children. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I received a free copy via booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

This latest installment is another wonderful addition to the fantastic world created by Juno Wells of smoking hot and infinitely devoted Draconian warriors. I enjoyed how this book takes on the popular reverse harem trope and incorporates it into the Draconian storyline. One of the few reverse harem I can appreciate because it focused on how Latisha connected with each individual Draconian male. Up until now each human female 'queen' (Draconians refer to all females as queens) has chosen one Draconian male to mate with, breaking the Draconian tradition of a queen taking on several breeders. In this book Latisha is rescued from slavery by an alien she fears. She escapes her rescuer doubting his intentions and finds herself on a planet where she does not know and cannot communicate with anyone. It is under these conditions that a clade, or clan, of 4 Draconian warriors find her. Though her adjustment to Draconian customs and traditions is slow, she quickly learns that she will be safe under Draconian care because of the utmost reverence they have towards females. She quickly falls for Hero, the biggest meanest looking warrior, but she hesitates to accept them all at once. Her acclimating to the rest of the clade is an entertaining journey where she gets to spend alone time with each warrior and determine whether to accept them all or not. The story definitely has a reverse harem flare, though not heavy on group sexy time, which I think really worked well. I can't wait for the next book of the series!

This is a reverse harem with one human queen taking her four warrior class to her heart after they rescue her.

She had signed a bride contract almost four years before, was stolen off her transport ship, sold and resold to all kinds of aliens, until a tall white alien found her and took her. But she had never been fitted with a translating device so she did not understand anyone and no one understood her. So she ran the first chance she got, and hid, and stayed hidden, stealing what she could to survive. Until a big , pregnant , tiger like alien found her one night, knocked her over and sniffed and licked her and then left, to come back with fruit to share, The alien took her on her jobs, fed and kept her hydrated. Then a dragon warrior saw her in the market and knee led to her. She ran, with the tiger, who shortly went into labor, with no help to birth her kits. The dragon warriors found them in time to save her friend and the kits, then searched for her until they found her, got her hydrated and gave her a translating devise and let her go. But they watched from afar, and saw she used both, and fell asleep but was having nightmares, so they carefully woke her, when she saw they understood her, and she them they went to their ship to see her friend. Commence big love story, but the tall white alien is a cop who wants her back to return her to Earth. They all travel to Earth on Queen Daddy's ship, which is attacked. They defend their ship and their queens, make it to earth and collect her mother and sisters and brother.

An enjoyable read with a nice build-up! I loved that the book started with a struggle to escape and survive. The situation was dramatic and detailed, but some parts were too detailed or repetitive a little bit, but then it picks up. It was almost like it was two different books fused together. The second half was the whole sexy mating, but even that had drama. I loved all the parts of this book and read through this in just two settings. It's a cool story, a little sluggish in parts, but completely enjoyable to read!

This is an OK sci-fi alien romance, with likable characters, and a good addition to the series. I am glad that this series is continuing, as I am curious about the world the author has created. This book gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.

I like that this series has a different take on the alien men -- even though they are physically strong and powerful, their culture is completely matriarchal. They have been abused and enslaved by their evil queens for centuries, but they still revere and treasure all women. They are alpha males, yet they are still happy to be led by women -- what a refreshing concept!

Some other reviewers didn't like that the men in this series are subservient to women, but I think it makes sense with their history. It is all they have ever known. That doesn't make them weak -- they are just doing what they must to allow them and their children to survive.

I know that the reverse harem idea is popular in paranormal romances these days, but it's just not for me. I prefer romances with just one man and one woman. I don't buy that a group of 4 men and 1 women could all love each other without jealousy. I get that they were all in lust, but love? I just didn't believe it.

There is a mistake on the cover of this book that I find annoying. The same mistake was made on several of the other books in this series, too. Most of the Draconian males are described as not having hair, but the men on the cover all have very long, white hair. It is a pet peeve of mine, but I think the cover pictures should match the character descriptions in the book.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Latisha had signed up for the galactic brides program years ago, but on her way to her husband, her ship got hijacked by pirates and she has been sold a few times. Then a different white alien took her from the most recent ones she had been with and they ended up at a crowded marketplace on a planet, and while he was on his comm unit, she slipped away. On the run, as she doesn’t want to be sold again, she meets an alien female that is pregnant and brings her food and drink. They work together for a while, until they are found by a squad of Draconians. Shocked, the Draconians begin to hunt the human “Queen” that looks malnourished and in very bad shape.

On the Draconian ship, Kane begins his first day as a warrior, as his bloodline had been breeders and some of the warriors still have mixed feelings about breeders. Finding out who his father is made me squee with joy to see him again. Kane is assigned to a four Draconian ‘squad’ to go down to the planet to get supplies on Bracken 5. Commander Hatch is the leader of the team, while a huge warrior named Drac is another, and finally, the medic, Jax. OMG> I love all four of them! Watching their interactions were fascinating as they worked together to find the human Queen which takes over as their primary mission. It seems even in space with a new species we can’t get rid of stereotypes and being mean to each other. However, things change quickly and the book is action packed and I loved it. I fell in love with all four guys. There are loads of funny parts, semi-scary parts, and some awesome fight scenes. I adore Latisha’s alien protectress as even with the language barrier they work well together and are a family. Lady, is what Latisha calls her friend, and Lady can only say part of Latisha’s name which ends up being Lish. I was fascinated finding out about Lady’s species and how soon her pregnancy was going to come to fruition. EEEK. lol. After a LOT of team work on the guys part, they find Lady and Lish and save them from the planet. So many things happen after that. It’s so cool. I don’t want to give anything else away, but woooo it is steamy as all get out and I soooo needed my AC on and I found myself with my eyes huge as I read. lol. The guys are sooo my Heroes. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.

3.75 stars. Latisha, the female human lead, signed up to be an alien’s bride but was abducted from her transport and has been sold many times since then. Escaping from her newest captor, she gratefully accepts assistance from a different, pregnant alien, and spends weeks hiding on a desert planet, working itinerant labour jobs that her friend negotiates for them.

Kane, the male breeder/warrior draconic humanoid lead, is on his first mission as a warrior, fetching spare parts for his ship, when he sees a human “queen” in the marketplace. Unable to detain her, he calls for the rest of his squad to help track her down, because she looks filthy and hungry.

The rest of the draconic humanoid team come to help - Hatch, the squad leader, Jax, the medic, and Drac, the elder warrior. When Drac finds them and saves her friend, Latisha starts to trust him, but only him. She also renames him Hero, not realising she’s claiming him as a permanent fixture in her life.

But there’s also a bounty hunter after her - her mother sent him to find her, and he’s determined to take her “home”.

Latisha is sure four males can’t share a female; surely they will fight over her attention. But the males are sure that only a group can properly satisfy a females needs. Can they come to terms everyone is comfortable with?

This story is quintuple POV, well written, and a fast-paced, sci fi, reverse harem, draconic humanoid/human romance with an equal balance of plot and character development. I enjoyed that Latisha favoured the one male who everyone expected would be overlooked or only grudgingly accepted. I enjoyed that the males ceded ground where Latisha needed them to. I think the story could have been longer by incorporating more of the active relationship development. I enjoyed the intimate moments and the banter between characters. I enjoyed that each person brought different strengths to the relationship.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Escaping Capture . . .

Living on Earth was intolerable. So Latisha had signed up to become part of a galactic brides program, where she would have a new start. But before she could be delivered to her groom, the ship was attacked by pirates looking to sell the women passengers as slaves to whichever species paid the most. It was not a pleasant fate! Because she had no way to understand any of the alien languages, Latisha had difficulty carrying out her plans for escaping. However, she is determined to get away, no matter how many times she is recaptured and sold.

She joins forces with a pregnant Sonarian, Trovena, who is close to giving birth. When they meet up with a Draconian named Drac, however, their situation may become more hopeful if they can eventually trust them. The Draconian males serve and protect their female Queens. Drac and the others of the small clan are determined to help the escaped captives get away from the danger and become their adored Queens. But Latisha is sure the aliens want a mate and Latisha has no intention of becoming someone’s possession ever again. So as Drac is distracted caring for Trovena, Latisha escapes again. These males are dominant warriors and she is afraid to risk being under their control, no matter who they are and what they promise. Will Drac be able to track her and take her to safety? Or will she continue to avoid him until some other dangerous species becomes her next challenge to survive?

There is much more to her adventure, so be sure to grab your copy of this exciting book to find out if Latisha will ever find the happiness she deserves.

4 1/2 stars! New Draconian Warriors story with a reverse harem

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

Latisha and her potential clan of Draconian warriors was able to capture my attention right away. It is a good continuation of how things developed after their arrival in the Naxis system. There are a few grammatical errors, but fortunately I was able to quickly determine the author’s intention.

Here is a high-level overview of how it begins:

Latisha is a human female that was kidnapped from another ship after she left earth to become an alien bride. Since then she has been sold several times. She is struggling to find the fire she had to truly fight back against her captures, but decides she is going to look for another opportunity despite her most recent captors being the best she has had so far.

When she is removed from the ship by the “talls”, as she thinks of them, and is being led through a marketplace on some kind of desert planet, she sees an opportunity to slip away.

Latisha gets away but now she has to find a place to rest, food to eat, and she doesn’t understand a word anyone is saying. Then as she finds a place to rest for a little while, a large greenish dark looking alien cat smells her and is coming her way ... uh oh.

A really fascinating Sci-Fi alien reverse harem romance & a splendid addition to the “Draconian Warriors” series. The plot is intriguing with suspenseful events & situations with good world building & scene descriptions. This book is a delight to read, it really is, i loved that it took one human womens love to change any attitude and doubts that the men may have had. And i loved Latisha for who she was, a women who has been though a lot, but runs away once they land on a planet. Only to come across another animal that is heavily pregant. Together they stick together until they are discovered by Kane who is part of a group of Dracon warriors on the planet for an assignment.
Drac, Hatch Jax make up this Clan, and know that Latisha is their queen. But Latisha has her own ideas and one by one each of the men fall in love with this wonderful women.
I have only just touched on a small bit of this book, but honestly it really is worth while reading and i thoroughly recommend you one click now to read a book that will keep you glued to this story right to the very end.

I love this book. Wasn't too hard to follow along. The characters are well written and the plot is good. Some of the back and forth stuff where the one Draconian is worried about the Queen's attitude could be left out. He worried wayyy to much. The action was great and the romance scenes were awesome.
Latisha is trapped on a planet and being human on top of it will be her downfall if she is caught. Having to escaped the worst of it. She is happy but wishes she was elsewhere. With the help of a woman she met along the way. They become friends who work together to get the job done. Then all that changes the day a group of Draconian males give chase. What do they want and why are they chasing her and her friend?

I really think this is the only book that has RH elements, and honestly, why pick just one when you can enjoy all four? Each member of the clade adds their own special touch, which makes it so much fun!

I also totally agree with our FMC’s observation that “Draconians start out so subservient, but if you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile.” It’s interesting how, no matter what, their main focus is always to please and protect their chosen queen. I’m really curious about what’s in store for their clade in the future!.

Latisha has signed up for an alien husband but all does not go to plan. The ship she is on is ambushed and she finds herself from alien to alien then when on the latest planet she escapes. She is befriended by another female cat like alien who is pregnant and they work together to help each other survive. But on their latest outing she runs into a Draconian. They try to help but she runs to escape being captured. But along with his three friends they manage to capture her and her friend. So begins her adventure with her four draconian warriors. Loved this one and enjoyed how it played out. Ending up with not one mate but four.

one of my first alien romance books. love subservient men. mc didn't really have that much personality, but she was also traumatized, so it was ok. there r 4 dragon men that want her. women r a scarce resource, so men get tgthr in groups of 4 or so j t have 1 woman. men serve, they get pregnant, they provide. women get to do fuqall. I like that. there's tail stuff going on once they smash. I'm not against that. short read, not much character building, but it's OK if u j wanna use this as a gateway to the rest of the books in the series. but if you do read the series, j know that there's political sht going on, and u'll have to focus on that too, instead of just the goonology.

I always enjoy when we get another chapter in this world. Latisha has been a slave sold to multiple masters. She sees a chance to escape and seizes it. Fortunately she makes a friend who teaches her how to survive on this world even if it is a meager living.

Kane is a young Draconian on his first mission when he discovers a queen. She and her friend run from him, though, and it takes a time to convince them to trust the Draconians. Time the friend does not have.

This story is a sweet, exciting, poignant story that doesn't turn out quite how you expect!

Revidian is apparently a word created by author to indicate cunnilinguis there is also reverse revidian. This should have been explained by the author in beginning. Of book 1. But was not till book 3 so I was confused. I do like that the author made up words for alien species to describe things both recognizable and not. great series. Read all 11 books too bad 11th book ended abruptly and did not bring all happy families & couples together quite well. It ended so abruptly I kept trying to find a missing page or two. Or will there a 12th book?

On the run!!

Latisha is a human with a bounty on her head. She thought she was going to be a bride to an alien. Before she could be delivered to him, she was kidnapped by other aliens. She met a pregnant mother and they joined forces.
Drac is a Draconian warrior who discovers that the person who bumped into him is a human woman. To the Dracons, all females are Queens, regardless of species. He and his fellow warriors are determined to find and help her.
They get more than they bargained for, but they are determined to help.

She will be their Queen...
Latisha signed up for the galactic brides program but never made it to her intended. Her ship was attacked by pirates and the females onboard were sold off to various species. Without a language chip, she is at a distinct disadvantage. It’s hard to tell friend from foe. Once the Draconians catch a glimpse of her, they are determined to rescue and treasure her.

Reading this story reminds me of a fable told long ago about how a man was surrowful when he won the lottery but happy when he lost his job. Someone then asked him why he is happy when bad things happen and sad when good thing happen to which he reply, well one should not rejoice when good things happen or he will be prepared when his good fortune takes a turn for the worse.

Slave to queen

One would think some of these groups would get better at protecting against space pirates, especially when women are scarce.
But then, that’s a part of good story telling, twisting a trope to get a good plot.
This was an exciting and fun read. I really like Trovena and hope she finds her HEA also.
I liked how Latisha and her guys were able to work through everything, it wasn’t just a “oh, you found me, now it’s hunky dory”.

If you, like me, have been following this series, you will know that this book goes out of the norm. While the rest of the series is Hh, this book is an (RH) reverse harem. Let me tell you that if you have any doubts about this book because of it, rest assure that this book is fantastic!!
The storyline is refreshing and brings a new twist to the series that I was not expecting.
I will recommend 100%

Miranda Martin’s Draconians Queen delivers a huge delight. Latisha has escaped her slavers and is surviving with the help of a heavily pregnant alien female she calls Lady. The two can’t communicate but work together. Then a huge winged alien attempts to save her along with his three buddies. Turns out they all want to please their queen. What a conundrum. Who should she choose when she likes them all? Good thing Draconians like a harem!

Book six of the Draconian Warriors series a well written story that held my interest throughout. This is Latisha/Lish and all the things she has to go through before her, and Trovena a Sonarian are rescued by Drac/Hero as she comes to call him and Hatch, Jax, and Kane. I want to read the next book. I read a copy through both Booksprout and K.U. and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Terrible

This book ends the series for me. I made it half way and found it a waste of time. The main female Latisha is the worst main female character of all the book so far. she is A total idiot and selfish. The male mates were also very boring. Just a terrible and not enjoyable book to read.

Incredible series the males are also dragon-men but just about everything else is new. If you are a fan of The Red Planet of Tajss series you will definitely love this series too. There’s over 18 books, I believe, and I’m almost finished. I haven’t done much of anything else since I started reading this! Highly recommend reading this book and series.

Fun read

5 stars as book was fun and interesting. This was the first I read of this series. Thinking I should have started at book one as I usually do, yet it turned out fine. Just a tiny bit of back storey to make sense and to let the main character know what was going on.

So a little RH but worth every moment. Pern makes a wonderful appearance as does Roan. Love the guys so hard. I eagerly await more. Juno Wells has done it again and I am so grateful.
