If you are new to the series, it’s a spinoff of the author’s HERO FORCE series. This new group, based in New York, is made up of men who while serving their country suffered physical and/or psychological injuries and are given a second chance to excel in what they do best.
This story belongs to Zach/Moto Sato, the computer wiz of the group and one of the best in the business. His world is turned upside down when, Davina, the only woman he ever loved and the one he believes betrayed him with his brother, calls him to tell him his brother Ben, needs his help. Though at first he refuses to help, when he discovers whom he unknowingly left behind, he will go back home not only to help his brother but also for that person.
To complicate matters, Ben’s associate is none other than Archie DeRegina, one of Interpol’s most wanted criminals and a drug cartel leader.
In the midst of all the danger , the story is also about family. The relationship or lack there of between Ben with Moto. The relationship between Moto and Danica with a past and secrets that were kept for 10 years. Can they have a second chance in love or will more heartbreaks continue in their lives?
As we come to the end, the author leaves us with clues of the next story. that of Mac. He was the original leader of this shattered HERO FORCE group . Mac left the group in search of his estranged wife and children and now needs Moto’s help.
I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

ENGAGING HIS ENEMY is an action packed, steamy, & second-chance romance. Zach “Mato” Sato is a retired Navy Seal. He now is a member of New York's HERO Force with other “Shattered” Seals. He is working on an important case when Mato receives an unexpected phone call. It is from his ex-girlfriend, Davina Murphy, who he had caught in bed with his brother, and shattered his trust. Now she is asking him for help to save that same brother. He refuses, but than she tells him her teenage son is really Zach's son. His brother is not even with her and never was. It was all a big mistake. If there is a chance Davina's son is his, than that is the only reason he would return home.

When Zach returns to find nothing is the way he thought. He wants to meet his son desperately, and make up for all the time & years together they were cheated out of. He thought Davina was still so beautiful, but betrayal has a way of turning things sour. Just maybe he should have stuck around to hear both sides of the story! He'd missed out on knowing his son, being a part of his life. It hurt more than anything he'd ever felt before. It boiled down to if Zach truly wanted a relationship with his son, he needed to save his brother. As for Davina, he wanted to kiss her & had the need to brand her as his own. His brother is in so much danger & unfortunately he has brought all of them into it with him. It won't be so easy to find a happy ending.

Another engaging and exciting suspense from Amy Gamet. I love all the attention to detail in her books but this one was a little confusing when ten year old Wyatt came across as closer to fifteen.

Zach and Davina grew up together, dated through high school and were each others first. But after a huge misunderstanding Zach left town and joined the Navy. Now a part of the misfit team of HERO Force, a phone call from his past sets his nerves on edge and has him heading home after ten years away.

Calling Zach was the only option Davina could think of when his brother is suddenly framed for murder. After all he's done for her, Davina will do whatever it takes to help Zach's brother, even though the two can't be in the same room without fighting.

But Zach quickly finds out that the brother that always found trouble may need the kind of help that only HERO Force can provide.

Zach "Moto" and Davina were sweethearts for years. When Zach's parents are buried, they both lose their virginity. Later that same night, he finds Davina and his brother, Ben, in bed together. Zach was devasted and his brother kept telling him that Davina picked him and they were getting married. Zach left immediately for the Navy. When Ben is arrested for murder, Davina calls Zach and asks for help, and she has to confess Zach is Wyatt's father. Zach works tirelessly to help Ben and realizes Ben's been working for a Mafia Cartel. HERO is behind him and the 1st shipment ends up blowing up. A DEA agent was the mole, not Ben. Both Ben and Davina were being held hostage so the drug shipment could be off-loaded with no interference from HERO. Yeah Right - not going to happen. Zach and Davina are loving characters.

Engaging his Enemy

Wow Moto finally got his happily ever after! I absolutely LOVED second chance stories. Especially ones where the hero saves the day. I have been a fan of military/ex-military love stories for a long time. My very favorites are the ones that have a lot of action in them. Amy Gamet is one of very few one click authors for me and is also an author that I reread all the time. I'm equal parts excited and sad for Mac's book to be released in April. I'm sad for the series to end. But with Moto living in Texas now maybe we will get another spin off series! Fingers crossed 🤞

Surprised HERO

Moto Receives a big surprise! I should say he receives more than one. A phone call turns this life upside dow andd it also brings back painful memories. He really doesn't want to deal with this right now, but then a bombshell is dropped on him and he has no other choice than to return to Houston. There is a lot of action in this story. And we also see that Mac makes some decisions for himself as well. This story definitely had a great plot. I look forward to the next story hopefully soon.

Zach Davina Ben Wyatt

Out of the blue Davina calls to say he is only one that can save his is brother. When he refuses she tells him that her son Wyatt was really his not Ben's.Being in trouble was nothing new but Wyatt was a different story. He needed the truth about him. While talking to Ben he found out that Ben was working for a large drug dealer. Zach called the Heros in because of the drugs.
A very good story of young love, brotherhood and it's never too late to change.

Hmmm

Really liked this series but seems a long wait for the next two books. Ok, so issue I have with this book is Davina she was the one who hide his son but she keeps treating him like the bad guy and she has little temper fits showing she still can't be upfront with Zack/Moto. On the whole it's a good story.

I’m so frustrated after reading Zach and Davina’s story because of a serious lack of character development and a realistic love story that would have made these characters appealing. In previous books Zach is a computer whiz but the case of s actually solved by a pair of 10 year old kids. Zach’s analytical mind is his strength but his violence toward his brother and his inability to express his thoughts and feelings with Davina drove me nuts. At crucial relationship points in the story he just walks away without a conversation like he did 10 years before. He’s definitely not my version of a romantic hero I can admire. I wanted to like Davina too but her mercurial mood swings, insecurities, and the lack of backstory about her life for the past 10 years or her current life left little to go on. Not revealing the existence of her son to his father is cruel and unforgivable though Zach never even confronts her about it. The action part of the story has merit though it wasn’t up to this author’s usual standards either. There were plenty of opportunities for the author to make me connect with these characters but it was wasn’t a priority and that’s vital for me. In the end I couldn’t care less about them and tossing in an instant happily ever after without the story and emotions to back it up is absolutely ridiculous.
