36-year-old chiropractor Cara Mann was doing just fine running her own practice and raising her young daughter-alone. When she hires Jack Dennis-the nerdy kid she used to babysit-for computer help in her office, he's nothing like she remembers. But he certainly hasn't forgotten her. Even if Cara can accept the help and support Jack is eager to offer, can she learn to love a much younger man?

The cover and synopsis is what interested me in this book. Once I started reading it. Right away I could tell something was up. It felt like an older person wrote this book. Some of that word choices were something no guy in his twenty’s would say. It just all felt dated.
“A swell of embarrassment courses through me.“
“don’t need to walk in misty-eyed. I cried once after the funeral, allowed myself to get it all out in one manic deluge.“
“I had memorized her coconut scent and light touch. It was a silly, virginal crush. A schoolboy fantasy. So why do I feel like I can’t move my legs?“
“I swivel one-hundred-eighty degrees in the barstool. I dig this place. Everyone looks friendly and happy. There’s a lively game of pool to my right, tables of two and three patrons talking comfortably over drinks and standard American fare, and to my left, a group of three deliberating over a game of darts. Three: a guy I’ve never seen before, a doe-eyed brunette I’d swear looks exactly like Paris,“
-Dig, lively, standard American fare, doe-eyed.- I have a 22 year old daughter and her boyfriend is 24. I can tell you for sure. They don’t talk like that. No 27 year old man would talk like that.
All that is only 23% in... I can’t get over this. I catch myself reading in an English accent! lol It was hard to get past that. Because as I read on. I just kept catching more and more of these dated words.
“I think I get it now. The wall she’s built. That stiff upper lip. Half of me feels sort of…bad…for Evan.“
“We finish our beers in cordial silence,“
“I’ve dreamed of ravishing you.”
“My lower regions rebel, pulsating with desire as his hard length still presses against me, but my mind is set, and my eyes feel heavy.“
-Lower regions, pulsating with desire, Ravishing.- I definitely felt at time I was reading a historical romance.
This book was ok. But not for me. I’m sorry. But I like my twenty something year olds to be a little more current with our times.

This was an entertaining novella. I easily read it during my daughter’s two-hour dance class. Michelle Morgan does a great job of detailing Cara’s struggles as a divorcee, and her hesitation to get involved with Jackson, whom she used to babysit. The age gap isn’t really that big in the grand scheme of things, and Jack is very mature, so I felt he was an equal match for her.

Engaging 4 stars - For a novella, Cara and Jack’s story is very engaging. Cara’s character pulls you in right away. You empathize with her being a single mom, her determination to have a successful practice, her resolve to be civil to her controlling ex and her guilt over Jack’s attraction to her. It’s a good love story and it certainly helps that Jack’s character is mature, helpful and attractive. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
This is a steamy older woman, younger man tale. It is interesting that she used to babysit said man 15 years prior. They make a great team in and out of the bedroom. Yum!
I love Michelle's work and I can't wait for more from her.

This was my first read from this author. It was an okay read, I will read more in the future. It's about Cara, who is divorced, business woman and lives with her daughter, when one day she hires Jack to help her with her business. The problem is, that Jack remembers her from the past.
