I'm Jonathan, a husband, father, and writer. I write because that's what I was born to do and I love doing it. Because of the support from awesome people like you, I get to do it full-time.
“Always get back up, that’s who you are.” I was so looking forward to reading this premise, and finally I got it! It’s as exciting, thrilling and fun as I expected it to be, and more! So much intrigue, unsuspecting events and action filled, packed in a tumultuous and astounding plot. Just when I think it ends well, it gets more complicated by the minute! The story is set in a SciFi world teeming with a monster manual’s worth of beasties, strange out of this world beings..a high octane universe! Can’t wait for Rivals #7 to come out!
Nemesis: A Near Future Thriller (Forsaken Mercenary Book 6) - a review by Rosemary Kenny
A riveting new episode in the Forsaken Mercenary series is Nemesis: A Near Future Thriller created by the amazing Jonathan Yanez' imagination, which boldly goes where no author's imagination has gone before. The eponymous Forsaken Mercenary is Daniel Hunt, abandoned, betrayed and amnesiac in a Jason Bourne-like fashion, he's determined to discover the truth about his enhancements and what he's been manipulated into doing while in his brainwashed state. An exciting near-future military space opera, Nemesis (or Fate), will entrance and entertain you in an out-of-this-world way...grab your copy today and buckle up for a wild ride!
Well, that was exciting! If it weren’t for bad luck I suspect poor Daniel Hunt would have no luck at all. Another edge of the seat instalment from Jonathan Yanez delivers way beyond expectations. I look forward to the next instalment with eager anticipation.
The action fun continues in this one. Daniel and his friends in Dragon Hold were looking for some relaxing time on earth after the battle against the Voy when Nemesis appears and disrupts their hopes. And then it only gets worse....
Dang it! These guys can't catch a break! That female alien still messing with Daniel, the gangs, his allies falling away, New aliens-shifters,New genetically modified creatures, mutant creatures, the GG, more artifacts, and the worst...reporters chasing down Daniel for interviews...yikes! The ending had me shaking my fist at the sky and scaring my cats! Noooooo!!!!!!!! It's that feeling you get during you're favorite tv series when you have to wait a while week to find out how it ends, only here, we have to wait 12 times!
I'm with Larry on this one - the end of book 6 did it for me. What a piece of crock!
The storyline has become a 'fight-almost die-survive-heal' rinse and repeat nonsense in the style of J.N. Chaney and the likes. This has turned into a fantasy children story and has no place in the pure Sci-Fi genre.
The one star is only for the first-person writing style, since there are rather few about.
Daniel seems to attract issues everywhere he goes and although some things are going the way he wants some are keeping the action nearly non stop and making for a great read.
Still fast moving with lots of action. Only 4 stars this time, because in the middle of the story it reads like "Filler" was added just to lengthen book. I still highly recommend the entire series. I'm hooked, reading 1 every day. Skipping chores to get it done.
I have grown tired of reading this series. Seems that anything that can be imagined shows up in this story line, and the story in each book always ends as an enticement to get you to purchase the next book in the series. Man wearing soundproof helmet, cannot hear anything on or speak to any one magically gets out of electronic handcuffed that are behind his back to escape. This happens without any mention because the author wants to entice you into purchasing his next book. If you enjoy SF, this is not your book. If you enjoy a book where anything can happened from shift shapers to walking alligators, this is your book. This was my last purchase in this series.
A new company for the Pack, Rival Mercer and now a dragon? Woohoo! The relic revelation and maybe new allies. This just keeps getting better and better!
Not sure how Daniel does it but I enjoy seeing him and his team dominate, even though Al is a bit much at times. This IS going to have to end at some point but not sure I want it to since it is epic! Check it out and see 😃
