It has been one of my goals as a preschool teacher to help children learn about Being Careless and help them see why we have rules to make them safe when they are careful. A Children's Book About Being Careless is an excellent book to lead to a discussion on how to be careful in our classroom and at home and avoid Being Careless. I have owned and used this book many times over the years as a preschool teacher.
This book teaches why it is so important to be careful so that you don't end up getting run over by a car or having someone else get hurt. It is important to always be alert in what you are doing and where you are going and what you are saying.
Great for early readers showing why its important we pay attention to our surroundings and be thoughtful for others. While the cover shows a boy running in front of a car rest assured that in the book the child makes it out ok. The boy learns why being careless could result in injury to himself, to others, and to his things(bicycle).
My daughter loves all of the Help Me Be Good books by Joy Berry and this one was no different. She found this one particularly helpful as she takes after me in that she isn't always very careful in action or speech. I think sometimes these books are great little reminders for us adults too.
Much better than the Being Messy book. It starts out with an emphasis on how being careless shows that you don't care for YOURSELF. I wish it would have reiterated that point throughout. The scenarios and examples are easily relateable.
I grew up on these books and absolutely love them! The Help Me Be Good books are great for young children. My children also loved them when they were young.
I love all the Help me Be Good Books by Joy Berry. I had a couple handed down to me from my mom and I found a bunch of the series at a used book store and bought them all! My kids love reading them just for story night, but I also find them very helpful to read when we are having a problem with a certain trait.
Each book focuses on defining what the action is, how it makes people feel and what to do about it. It helps show the dangers and destructive being careless can be. It's simple and quick and my kids love the little mouse or bunny character that pops up. The beginning shows what can happen when you do certain things, and in the end shows a much happier outcome if you try something different.
A Book About Being Careless helps show children how being more careful and paying attention can keep them safe.
Such a great book for kids and adults to read together!! Joy Berry has a wonderful way of bringing things to a kids level to help them understand things better. Sometimes as an adult we forget kids see and process the world differently than us.
Beautifully illustrated to help kids pay attention while learning valuable life lessons!
This series is wonderful for any home or classroom! I want them for he community center where I work!! I am also thrilled they are being made available as ebooks!!
