Darcy Ford is coming off an ill-advised relationship that ended in disaster. When she's at her lowest point, she meets a woman who takes her back ten years to a night of wild passion. A night when she met-and lost-someone who opened new worlds to her. A night where her heart was stolen. A night which was the beginning of this most recent disastrous affair.
Only by re-telling these tales can she find her way back to her lost love and the return of her heart.
H.A. Blackwood’s “Tell-Tale Hearts” is so hot that you should think twice about reading it in public! As much heat as it packs, though, this book also has a plot! Of equal importance, all of the characters are well-drawn and compelling.
There is an expectation to find steamy sex in a work of erotic fiction, and “Tell-Tale Hearts” delivers. What’s more remarkable, though, is Blackwood’s ability to create a compelling and convincing story surrounding the sex.
Factor in Blackwood’s stellar grammar and punctuation, and the result is an erotica book that will leave you stimulated on multiple levels.
Erotica books are hit and miss. Ok, a whole lotta miss in my experience. This book is a definite hit! There’s a plot with a lot of heat. It’s worth every star I gave it. Can’t wait for more from this author!
There's no doubt that H.A. Blackwood's "Tell-Tale Hearts" is one of the hottest novels ever written! This book is not just full of heat -- it's also packed with a plot! In addition to their well-drawn and compelling personalities, all the characters are well-rounded and human. It is expected that an erotic fiction work will include steamy sex, and "Tell-Tale Hearts" exceeds this expectation. Nevertheless, Blackwood has a knack for creating an enjoyable and convincing sex story. The story described the good, the bad, and the ugly of what someone can experience. It was beautifully constructed and astonishingly written. Whether they are walk-ons or main characters, all of the characters are full-bodied. The author had me gripped on the edge of my seat in heat. My jaw dropped to the point I wanted to know more of Darcy's story and they didn't let me down. I like how the author gave the character a coming of age where the main character comes to terms with her sexuality.
First, I got a free copy of this book from a contest of sorts and I did not receive a copy in exchange for a review. That being said, I'm mad at myself for not reviewing this book sooner.
I love romance and erotica stories and read a LOT of them. The biggest problem I have with them is that there's not much of a background story. Granted, you don't need much of the story, just enough to get you to the moment the characters meet and that's fine. I was expecting that with this book. I was oh so thankfully wrong.
This author didn't just write an erotica novel, they wrote a STORY. It was a beautifully built up and amazingly written story of the good the bad and the ugly that can happen to someone. Every character is full-bodied, even the walk-ons. The author had me gripped on the edge of my seat from the first few pages desperate to know Darcy's story and they didn't let me down. This was no one-off where you get a quick story and then the rest of the book is nothing but sex. It's almost a coming of age where the main character comes to terms with her sexuality.
The other thing that made me love this book is that at no point in time does the author make you believe there is anything wrong about the way Darcy behaves. This is one of the best written sex-positive stories I have ever read. Bravo.
I classify Tell-Tale Hearts as erotic romance rather than erotica because there is an actual story here. A well-developed plot that will capture you right from the start and leave you wanting more. From the very beginning, I had an interest in the characters. There is a mystery to solve and a story that needs to be told, both of which Blackwood executed perfectly.
Darcy and Gemma are likable and relatable and the plot unfolds with excellent timing, every piece of the puzzle given at just the right moment. And when Darcy says, "Wait...there's more" and you're thinking, "How could there be more?" Wait...'cause there's more! It is a very fast-paced read with a whole lotta story packed in, but with that, Blackwood manages to leave no stone unturned. In the end, I felt like I had all the answers I needed and everything was wrapped up neatly with a pretty bow.
Now, for the erotic side of the story. Lesfic isn't normally my thing, but I took a chance on this because I was curious about the plot itself. I fully expected to skate past the sex without a reaction, but with the way this author writes erotic scenes, it's nearly impossible to do that. The writing is vivid and the description is spot on.
I completely agree with the reviewer who called this a "sex-positive" story. As a woman who has always gone after what I wanted, even at the risk of being shamed by society for being too forward, I very much appreciated Darcy's take charge personality. An experience in college was an induction into the world of kink and from there she didn't let anything, or anyone, stop her from what taking what satisfied her. It is a huge thing to me for women to feel empowered by their desires and an understanding of what makes them tick without shame, and Tell-Tale Hearts fully grants this to the main characters.
This is a fantastic story with arousal for the reader coming (pun intended!) in all the right places. I couldn't put it down and it turned out to be one of those "one more page" books for me. As a reader, you can't ask for anything more than that.
Twists, turns and surprises around every corner in this delicious & devious drama from HA Blackwood. Don't let the page count fool you. This is an epic ride that jumps between different timelines taking a deep dive into the sexual adventures and emotional core of the main character, Darcy. The sex scenes are hot but are character-driven in a way that makes them feel natural and unforced. The dialogue also flows naturally and a reader can be made to wonder if events like this are going on behind closed doors with people they know! Great for fans of erotica with three-dimensional characters, voyeurism and public sex. Plenty of steamy girl-girl action so this a must for fans of that as well xo.
This is a well written and incredibly sexy love story. Told as a story within the story, it is a well crafted, skillfully told tale that is a joy to read. Just perfect for curling up to in these scary times. It's an excellent escape, and a great escape valve, single handed or otherwise. Hopefully otherwise!
this may be the most erotic book I’ve ever read! on top of that, it makes me think that there’s a whole world of people indulging in forbidden delights that I have no idea about. not to mention the movie references like Kill Bill, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and how Peter got the nickname “Mills” from the movie Se7en make this a must read!
I liked this book. It was really hot to read and I really enjoyed reading about what Darcy went thru. It was also great that the first woman she was with came back to be with her again.
Well. This is super sexy, super smutty and has an underlying romantic plot. Lots of erotic story that reads a bit like a therapy session and at points I skimmed but it's still a great read. But definitely NSFW or reading in public.
Starting reading and found the story a bit horrible. One woman putting ecstasy in her friends drink at a frat party is more than enough to make me put the book down and erase it from my kindle.

I've read a lot of mlm romance lately, and I thought I'd give the wlw side a shot. At first, I thought this was an okay book, but there's a pivotal scene that I think should have been more of a bad thing than a good thing, and it sort of left a bad taste in my mouth for the whole rest of the book.
I won't lie; the sex is pretty damn hot all around, so if you're looking for everyone banging everyone else, then this will definitely fit the bill.
I found out the author was male, which...I don't know. Women write mlm fiction all the time. Is it just me who feels like the reverse is a little...creepy? That being said, there were no glaring errors (no 'she breasted boobily' or any ignorance of real female biology) so I have to give the author props for that. It's a wlw book; why did I automatically assume the author was female? Not sure. There's got to be some major psychology and sociology behind that.
Anyway. I'm sure it wasn't meant to be a real deep novel, and it's full to the brim with people getting it on. There was a bit where the MC is waist-deep in a scorching affair, and I can appreciate the 'flying by the seat of your pants' feeling of a relationship so hot that you're down to screw 24/7, doing dumb stuff that later you look back on and go "what the heck was I thinking??" That part was pretty freaking hot, I will admit.
Trigger warning: The MC gets shanghaied into a drunken orgy/gangbang early on in the story and is portrayed as enjoying some pretty rough treatment, so be careful.
