Oh, look, some new characters show up and set off yet another round of diplomatic negotiations. There is a tease that the wyvern infestation storyline that has been sidelined for a while may actually bring some action to a future volume, but I have a dreadful feeling the marauding reptiles will just be invited in for a state dinner where their poor table manners will draw many subtle looks of disapproval from members of the royal court before our hero intervenes with an earnest act or speech that will greatly benefit the standing of his wife, Queen Aura.
I'm really starting to get deeply drawn in to this story.
It started out interesting enough, & has gotten better with each successive volume. Queen Arus ia a knockout. However, this new Princess Freya of the North is quite attractive, too (as also is Princess Bona of the Twin Kingdoms). I wonder if Freya will make an attempt to get down with Zinjaro? He certainly seems to be popular, so I wouldn't be surprised if this new princess makes a move. Or will she take him away with her as she sails back north? It seems that big changes are coming, if you follow the hints. As someone who has not read the previous light novel series of the same name, I don't know what's in store for our man Zinjaro, Aura, Carlos, etc. I certainly look forward to finding out!
When a Princess from the far north suddenly arrives, new characters are entered and new political chess matches are started. Zenjiro is forced into a tough spot as Queen Aura is occupied elsewhere. More adventures and beautiful art fill this book. More battle scenes then some of the previous books and are well rendered in another fun volume.
Plots continue within the Twin Kingdoms and Prince Francesco and rampaging wyverns and a new plot with the Northern kingdom of Uppasala. Zenjiro will need to get even better with the political intrigue.
