I think that as I approach that milestone that is fifty, I must be one of the oldest gamers on the face of this earth. Many a day you will find me lashed to my PS4 enjoying a good session of Skyrim. Who doesn’t love a good session of Skyrim? I love writing—I have done it since I was a child when I would happily write about the latest episode of Doctor Who (Tom Baker in those days) in my schoolbooks. Growing up and becoming a business owner with my friend Jayne left little time to pursue my dream of publication, but of late the desire and the compulsion to put words onto paper have once again dominated my life so that now, my laptop has become surgically fused to my fingertips. There is something desperately satisfying about telling a story. My fascination with History, Religion and Conspiracy theories have, in this instance, gone hand-in-hand with my love of all things vampire, fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I drove my parents nuts when I was young because that was all I would read about in books, all I would watch on television, but they have held me in good stead, and long may my obsession with the subjects continue, at least, that is, until the day they put me in my own wooden box. And imagination is such a wonderful thing. I once had a rather vivid dream about David Tennant and the Tardis console, but I could not possibly go into details about that here. Let’s just say that my polarity was well and truly reversed. Dead Camp is just the beginning. I have to check my knickers every day at the thought that this book is now in the public domain. My first book, and I hope the first of many. And to those out there who love to write, who love to transport us to new worlds, or old worlds with a twisted perspective, I say to you keep going. I never thought I would ever see my work available to download, and thanks to eXtasy Books, the dream that I always thought unobtainable has finally come true. So thank you all at eXtasy, I am one happy homosexual thanks to you, and thank you the reader for taking the time to read this strange tale and allowing Eli and the incomparable Malachi into your lives. And now I really need Skyrim.
The story of how it all came to be continues, with each monsters tale being revealed. Instead of feeling somewhat relieved at that information, you are instead heading even further into the darkness, when it is revealed that there is something even more evil and monstrous out there, and heading straight for James. Fear, terror, paranoia, confusion, purpose, reluctance, attraction are James' life in this second book. In turn, with each page, you travel with him as he navigates this unbelievable world and asks 'why him?' If there are only 3 books in this series, then the next one is going to be something else. Buckle up readers
♫ Sean Kerr was working on his book late one night… and suddenly to my surprise… he did the MONSTER MASH! ♫
A superb interweaving of classic monster favorites blended with historical facts, personas, and places. Kerr, as usual, did his research and with a surgeon’s precision splices credible details with expert storytelling to create a descriptive tale filled with intrigue and poetic prose.
Kerr is a mad genius to concoct a love story of monsters that reflect the human condition we all suffer from: trying to make it through life to achieve an acceptance and requited love. Because of their monstrous physical attributes, we would deign ourselves above these creatures. Yet, Kerr dares to show that despite our lack of physical scars, it’s our emotions that rule us and our actions that define us all. Are we no different than monsters? Where does the man and the monster end or begin? Is there really any true distinction at all?
Despite the deep emotions running at the core of this story, this is just a great read as more mystery unfolds in this next installment of the ALIVE saga and interesting characters keep you wondering what Sean has in store for them and us. This is a page turner that keeps you hooked until the startling end, leaving you gasping for more. Sean Kerr writes with passion. “I too have loved. I have tasted of the forbidden apple and felt its flames lick around my soul.”
A UNIVERSAL MONSTER MASH wrapped in forbidden love.
What I love about this and the others similar to this by Sean is how easily he takes an old classic tale and gives it a modern-ish twist. How he is able to give such intricate details, not just about each character, but also the settings for each scene and the descriptiveness of what is happening. I've read each book in this particular set/series of Sean's and they truly do get better with each story. I love how in this book, all the characters from his previous books in this set/series, appear, and it's as if they've all been in each book anyway! Honestly, so much happens again in this, and there is, in my opinion, still so much to happen! Gyro DEFINITELY needs his story telling, as does Griffin's, too! Absolutely amazing!!} Loved it!!
