This is another entertaining addition to the Ethan Jericho books, in fact I think it might be my favourite, so far. Each book has had action, mystery and a large dose of the supernatural, or the odd monster, and Nightcrawler has all that too. If you’ve read the other books featuring Jericho there’s a pay-off for knowing the characters and their stories, as well as the background too, but I think this book works perfectly fine alone if you haven’t. What I most like about it is the mix of world-class-assassin/hired-gun Ethan Jericho and the out of this world supernatural monster. This time he’s up against something darker than he’s faced before. Something that can corrupt anyone and bend them to its will. Something he has a history with. JD Oliva writes us a fun entertaining tale with all the hallmarks of great action thrillers but what sets it apart is the supernatural elements. This isn’t your usual bad guy fight good guy, shooting and fighting fun, although there’s plenty of that too, but it’s great in its originality. For those tired of the same old formula wanting to change things up, I recommend this book and the others featuring Jericho. Start at the beginning and enjoy the fantasy.
This suspenseful plot grabs you from start to finish, bringing back Ethan Jericho, the many-sided character. After moving back to Chicago and healing from his last encounter with antagonist, Erik Zion, Jericho receives a call for help, taking you back to a murder that occurred several years ago in St. Louis, where Alyse Casten, a complex character, hires Jericho to find the person who took part in the killing of her father. With more complex players coming on the scene, the storyline moves in various directions, exposing some secrets, lies, bigotry, payback, betrayal, deception, supernatural happenings, and manipulation. The page-turning plot with its terrifying scenarios, cryptic turns, and historical events slowly builds up to a jaw-dropping ending, which will have you asking, “Are there genetically formed killers walking among us?” I enjoyed the back and forth friction between Jericho and Jamie Casten, a strong-minded young woman who does not take no for an answer or back down from threats and thought Christopher Jackson Shane had a future in helping people. I can see Jericho, Jamie, and Chris working together soon.
An exciting and unusual thriller with Ethan Jericho caught in the middle. This book kept me awake and creeped out. It will make you question everything you don't want to know about. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys tales of the supernatural. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
Nightcrawler is the third book in The Books of Jericho series and is a fantastic supernatural thriller.
Jericho's past comes back to haunt him as the Nightcrawler possesses him. This is an eerie book that captured my attention from start to finish with chills, thrills, and action. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
this book was full of suspence and action but I would not like to read it at night. Supernatural is correct and I would hate to be on the losing side. But Jericho accepted the case and challenge. well worth reading
Another great book in this series. Fantastic characters and the story line is amazing. What an imagination this author has. I stayed up way too late reading this. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
