“Does Tatiana know she’s here?” Jack asks, finishing off his smoothie even as the cup Superior is holding crushes in his hold. “Yeah, I figured that was it,” he says.

“It’s going to blow up in our faces,” Superior admits. “So… want to help me kidnap her and leave her on an island in the Pacific Ocean?”

“Tatiana?” Jack asks.

“Sparky. If we did that to Tatiana she’d never stop yelling at us,” Superior says. Jack bursts out laughing, only to put his cup on the bar and shrug when he’s done.

“Sure, sounds like fun,” he says. “I’ll go find some rubber gloves.”

“That’s my grandson-in-law,” Superior says with a brilliant smile.

“And these two are the ones I REALLY wanted to introduce last, Grandpa,” Aubrey says, tugging her grandfather over to them with a severely irritated expression on her face, “but I have to do it now because they’re planning to do something stupid and need to be stopped.”

Two of my favorite characters get to lead their stories once again in one of my favorite series.  Jack and Aubrey are just the sweetest couple, and even if it seems crazy, the most mature.  I love how much Jack has grown from book one, he is still the same, but at the same time is a much better version of himself.  Aubrey has always been very focused and mature girl, that hasn't change, but I still love her, and especially her interactions with Jack, she is a good part of his growth, because she is the kind of person who will give someone a chance, and bring the best of them to the surface.

We see them both as they are getting closer to graduation, their plans for the future and their adventures, and I have to say, it was great.  It was so cool and refreshing reading about them, and how good they are to each other, how understanding, but at the same time willing to do what they can for one another.

There's not much I can say about the book, there was drama, adventures, characters from the past, new characters, some sweet moments, some hard moments.  It is a book worth reading, and if you haven't, you should read it now.

Steel Life wasn't as good as America's Firewall, but it was still a fun read. Liz's mom comes back and provides an interesting dynamic amongst the Superior family that I like seeing it. Once again the entire book was in third pov, which has me wondering if that's the way the series is headed.

Part of what bothered me about the book is the insistence on shoving the women that aren't in relationships into a relationship with a man, like Missy and Skye. Another part was the planning of marriage among the young couples like Jack/Aubrey and Zoe/Max when they hadn't even graduated. To be honest, the romance part frequently plays a part in my lessened joy in the book.

There were several cameos that were interesting to see, and Jack's interaction with his "lackeys" was wonderful to see.

A worthy entry in a fun series

This is another fun read in the Cape High series. The book has several sub plots and include the long awaited wedding of Taurus and Firefly. Another is the "final" for Jack "Cold Steel" and his future plans with Aubrey "Life Light".

The book does seem to suffer a bit due to the number of subplots and the number "speaking" parts, but still highly recommended.

Another great Cape High novel!

Cape High, still going strong! It’s nice to see she is “aging up” the plot a bit. The kids can’t stay teens forever! And so many plot hooks for further books!
