What a journey. I laughed. I cried. But most of all, my second read-through has made me all the more grateful that in an era of ambivalence toward expert opinion unlike any other, Kumar and colleagues have toiled to make an accessible overview of pathology that is nonetheless a distillation of expert insight and research. I wish more of the giants in medical textbooks put forth an effort like this one to support learners.
