Open is a magic show with no magic. A woman called The Magician seems to pantomime a myriad of tricks, but her act reveals she is attempting the impossible—to save the life of her lover, Jenny. And yet, is it possible that the more we believe in their love, the more The Magician's illusions are actually becoming real? The clock is ticking, the show must go on, and as impossible as it may seem, this Magician’s magic act may be our last hope against a world filled with intolerance and hate.

A beautiful play about imagination, love, and the suspension of disbelief when one is bargaining for the life of a beloved. I’d so enjoy seeing this performed.

A unique and interesting piece, this one woman show highlights the struggle for a magician to convince the audience of her tricks while convincing herself where she stands with her girlfriend Jenny. A queer exploration of loss, of illusion and dissolution, this show is so bare bones in the technicality that it allows for so much interpretation. I absolutely adore it, and am strongly considering this pitch for a future production, especially during our current uncertain times for performing arts.
