Wow. This was a really phenomenal read. It feels like a breath of fresh air to read a book about the employee/employer relationship within the workplace that places a high value on communication and emotional intelligence. It doesn't feel like a coincidence that the author is a woman who has worked long and hard around understanding and thus being able to successfully execute the lessons she's learned. Her tone and presence were very reminiscent of Brene Brown.

This is a successful read, too, in the sense that her language is accessible and easy to grasp. None of the lessons in this book are hard to understand. Anyone who doesn't want to utilize these tactics and tools within their workplaces after reading this would have to try really hard to willfully not engage with more positive and productive dialogue and work environment atmospheres.

Everyone who works in our capitalistic society in a hierarchal position that holds power should read this book and share it with everyone they know, above and below.

Sometimes the right book shows up at the right time! I’m not hiring anyone right now, but the messages found in Ambition apply to many situations—including my two adult children. This short, smart and concise book takes into consideration workplace success, for not only employers—but on the flip side, anyone seeking employment. The book is a reminder about learning from mistakes and viewing failure as a catalyst to success. There is a very interesting take on communication across the generations—and the different styles of learning from Baby Boomers (here!) through Millennials, and how frustration is a natural part of learning.

Upbeat, interesting and inspiring: IQ plus EQ (emotional quotient) plus the secret sauce of Ambition adds up to success. This book highlights the power of persevering. Loved the Salvador Dali quote: “Intelligence without ambition is like a bird without wings!”

When I first thought to read this book I thought it would be dry and boring like most advice books, but happily I found a conversational and very engaging. Although there were no personalize stories or examples it’s still held my attention and I thought this would be great for those who work in big companies as well as small offices. I recommend this to anyone looking to go into the workforce and those who are in the leader ship position already in the workforce. This is awesome and a lot of these suggestions would go far and social situations as well.

I really enjoyed this book. The author presented a lot of fascinating points about ambition and how it factors into your performance at a job and in life really.
One of the authors key points, The AQ or Ambition Quotent, makes perfect sense and I agree its not something that is taught in schools anymore and it should be. I know it's something I will be teaching to my daughter.
While this is especially helpful for employers I think it could be useful for anyone who wants to improve themselves and how they work.
