John Constantine is back in London, back to his old tricks-and just in time, as things have become very dark indeed in his old stomping grounds. A small-time gang lord has found himself dealing with a big-time outbreak of supernatural weirdness...and without any allies to call on and nothing left to call his own, John doesn’t have much choice about taking a paycheck from one of London’s worst, or accepting the help of one of the gang lord’s would-be foot soldiers. But what should be an open-and-shut exorcism turns out to be nothing but...and the author of this madness may just be getting started on their terrible masterpiece! The original Constantine is back in this series from Si Spurrier (The Dreaming) and Aaron Campbell (Infidel), with nothing to his name but decades of bad memories and an unearned second chance. How, exactly, will he squander it? There’s only one way to find out...
Superb art and a cracking story arc beginning. Keeps in line with the Constantine look and feel. Looking forward to the next one . Must read for JC and HB fans!
looks great, feels good, closest to a John Constantine that wandered away after 300 issues in a while. rounding down to 4 because i feel there is still room for this to grow and improve. Glad to have him away from the capes and DC universe though, a series to support and add to your monthly pull list.
Simon Spurrier continues the return to form of John Constantine Hellblazer that he started in the special issue, and it's beautiful and fantastic. Just like one of John's many ghosts, Hellblazer is back to haunt you and I can't wait for more.
Second of the reboot issues just as true Constantine
Glad to see Boris mocked. Amusing to hear Constantine's 1990's patter struggling to comprehend today's yoof, and his off-colour jokes getting him in trouble with hipsters.
Currently this hellblazer and immortal hulk are on my list, this pips Hulk though, excellent art, and a nice contained short story to kick it off, an excellent starting point which concludes satisfyingly and is potentially shaping up to be the best Constantine since his debut in Swamp Thing.
I just read some of the shadow series illustrated by Aaron Campbell. It's great to see him here as he is an artist who excels at old world architecture.
Cualquier cosa de Constantine, a nada que se haga con un poco de cara y ojos, es una delicia. La crítica a la ultraderecha de esta serie me ha encantado, aunque, por desgracia, todo suene a ya visto.
