Rachel Westbrook has it all: looks, money, prestige. What she doesn't have is a good reputation.

She's tired of being the rebound girl.

When her friend Vicky proposes a blind-ish date with Adam Marshall, Rachel thinks she might actually have a chance to turn things around. Then she sees Adam checking out his ex-girlfriend Heather. She knows how to play this game. She’s played it before.

But Adam doesn't want Rachel to be just his ruse to get over his ex, he wants to help Rachel change her reputation. They make a deal to fake a relationship until they can both move on.

Now Rachel’s falling for an unavailable guy. She focuses on her three-person basketball team to keep her sane as they prepare for a tournament they need to win. Except Adam’s on her mind more than he should be.

Adam opens up to her, and she’s not sure if it’s authentic or all part of the game. When tragedy strikes, can she turn to him for a shoulder to cry on? Or would that only lead to more heartache?

As Rachel discovers things aren’t always what they seem, she has to figure out if what she has with Adam is legit or if she really is just another rebound.

What an amazing story of love, loss and basketball. The title for this story really fits it very well.

The characters in this story were remarkable. I loved falling in love with Rachel and Adam's story. Awe, mi amor, my heart....Just so very romantic.

The story-line was amazing. Though I have to admit that I wish that the story was a bit more about basketball like the first book was about baseball, but I still loved reading about Rachel and her family. This was a good wholesome read that pulled at my heartstrings and left me with many feelers at the end. It is a tissue worthy and romantic read and I still highly recommend it.

I had really high hopes for this one, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. It was still good, but it definitely wasn't a favorite. Books with the concept of fake dating has always fascinated me, so I was really excited for this book. I love seeing the characters in the fake relationship slowly starting to fall for each other, so I loved that aspect.

My main issue with the book was the characters. Rachel was extremely obnoxious in the beginning. Her self-obsessed attitude was a bit frustrating at times, so much so that I considered giving the book up. Adam was a bit toxic despite the relationship being fake, so for a while I was also annoyed with him. He was extremely controlling and the jealous behavior he exhibited was extremely irritating.

However, the character development was pretty decent. By the end of the book, both Rachel and Adam had calmed down and were more tolerable. Adam wasn't nearly as controlling as he was, and Rachel wasn't a self-absorbed.

Overall, if you like fake relationships, you might like this book - if you can ignore the conceited attitudes. The characters did eventually become more bearable, but I personally did find it hard to get to that point. The story itself is unique and interesting and well-written.

Rachel Westbrook has it all, money, designer clothes huge house. The bad thing, she is known a the rebound girl. If you break up, or get dumped and want to make a girl jealous, you date Rachel.

Rachel doesn't date for real. She has a good reason to be careful with guys.

When she goes on a date with Adam, she takes it as a chance to change her reputation. He gets a rebound and she loses the title of rebound girl. So they have to make it look very real. The more real they make it, the more feelings arise. And soon she is falling for him.

Her father owns a pharmaceutical company works long hours. She is often led to her own devices and is OK with it. And then there is his horrible assistant. Her life goal seems to be getting into every aspect of his life. Rachel hates her and keeps warning his father. Her mother left a few years ago and what's worst, she never kept in touch.

When her maternal grandfather comes to tells them the horrible news, the web of lies starts to unfold.

When I picked up the book, I was sure it's going to be a light and quick read.

It's so much more.

There is a lot of depth to the story, with family issues, difficult pasts, complicated friendships, and love. I love the way charters evolve with each chapter, especially Rachel.

Highly recommend it!

This is book #2, in the Girls Of Summer series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to completely understand the series, I recommend reading these in order.

Rachel is ok with being set up on a blind date. She is used to coming in second. She is used to being the backup. When she explains this to Adam, however, he proposes something different that she knows will end up the same.

Adam is ready for a change. Or is he? His ex is always near and he needs to really be done with her. Maybe being with Rachel is the answer. Can he be who she needs when it is a critical time for her?

This book felt like a slow burn. It took a bit for me to feel like it got started. I was patient since I really loved the first book in this amazing series, There were little cameos of the characters I had already come to love. I cannot wait for the next installment. I like the way this author hits the hard times head on.

This is Book 2 in the Girls of Summer Series by this author. It is a young adult sports romance between Rachel and Adam. There is no denying the sizzling chemistry and strong connection between these two likeable souls. What starts out as a fake relationship turns into something more. It is a romantic adventure with drama, steam, humor, surprises, twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. An engaging page turner. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.

I wanted to like this book more because I loved the first one but I just couldn't. Rachel was so annoying sometimes, like I understand her reasoning and the way she thinks but at the same time, everytime Adam made an effort or something that wasn't in the fake relationship realm, she shut him down. How is he supposed to know how she feels when she gives me negative signs? I would have liked to see more effort from her part

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Rachel and Adam. She's a young girl trying to make it in school. She hides behind her persona so she doesn't get hurt. Adam is a friend of a friend and is not like the guys she dates. When they agree to fake date neither plan to develop real feelings. Like basketball, every shot matters.

The second book in the Girls of Summer series, I would say this is a series to be read in order. A YA Sports Romance story. Rachel Westbrook and Adam Marshall will have their ups and downs and misunderstandings in this cute story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book 2 in the series and I loved Rachel and Adam as much as Vic and Daniel from book 1.
This time the couple revolve around Rachel’s basketball team and her ‘rebound girl’ rep.
A fake relationship to help them both becomes more but can she rely on him.
A sweet, fun, YA page-turner that has engaging, realistic characters, plenty of action and a HEA.

I must say Adam had me right from the start, the relationship both Rachel and he had needed more communication. I felt for both of them, but I just liked my cutie Adam more. The storyline was nice, although there were times I wished we could have more, but Stevens did a good job making it all flow together nicely. There was drama, romance, and pulling of the heartstrings in this book. It was a good read, and I do wish we'd get to see Rachel and Adam again in the future.

What an absolutely riveting read. Rachel wants to change her reputation from the rebound girl. Soon her and Adam are starting a fake relationship, but their feelings soon turn real... There's family issues, difficult pasts, friendship difficulties, teenage drama, characters grow and evolve throughout and so much more! Will Rachel and Adam both get what they truly deserve in the end?...

I really enjoyed The Rebound by Lynn Stevens . It was very well written kept me reading to the very last page. Rachel and Adam were great together. Once I began reading I just kept reading to the end to see what would happen. What started as pretend between them becomes all too real when Rachel falls hard for Adam. Will Rachel get her heart broken?

Adam, Rachel, basketball, and their story of growing up. They initially suffer from a lack of communication. This is an easy read, and I love the sports theme. It's not my favorite from the author, but still worth the time to read it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a great read about a rich teenager figuring out so and what she wanted. The struggle of losing her mother and finding love with Adam. Bridgette book and read it.

3.5 stars

In the beginning, we meet a seemingly self-absorbed, indifferent Rachel who seems to care more about appearances than anything else. As the book continues, however, we see that Rachel has issues stemming from a lack of parental attention. She's not a typical rich girl, yet in some ways, she is a typical rich girl, as she tends to use her money and influence to move things along, even when it makes others uncomfortable. Rachel hasn't made many serious efforts to make friends, as she's afraid of letting people in if they only plan to leave. Adam, she figures, is only a means to an end. She comforts herself with the fact that he's also using her. As feelings enter their arrangement, she attempts to shut down, which is her modus operandi. When a personal tragedy upends her world, she's forced to admit that life without feelings - especially love - would be a waste of time.

So, this book was a little hard to follow at some parts. It was obvious before the first chapter was through that you needed to have read book 1 (I didn't) to be able to make the necessary connections in book 2. Otherwise, it was a typical teenage/YA novel, with a rocky romantic relationship and adult/child tensions as well as peer issues and rivalries.

I loved that there was a consistent sports theme throughout. I only wished we had gotten inside Adam's head even if only for a couple chapters, or an extended epilogue. We discover a lot about Rachel, but we never really got to know Adam. Otherwise, the book wasn't a terrible read at all. It just took a while for the plot to move.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Rachel is fed up with being known as a rebound girl and only having guys stick around untill they have move onto something better. Adam wants to get over his ex Heather but isn't sure how. Together they come up with a plan to help both of them out of the ruts they are in. They decide to fake date untill Adam is over Heather and this is turn will bring Rachels status up from just being known as a rebound girl. This book is all about love, loss and drama.
I love a good fake dating story but this fell short for me. For me it started off on the wrong foot as you are instantly dragged into the fake dating plot. I usually like a bit of background and build up before this point to suck me in. This just felt like something was missing. Rachel comes from a totally different background from Adam. She's from a rich family and he's not. She wasn't really that likeable she came across as a right snotty rich brat. She was constantly thinking in her head about how much she wanted her relationship with Adam to be more yet she treated him like dirt. I did enjoy the whole drama around Rachels family. It was a good side plot. Unfortunately this one didn't knock my socks off it was an OK read but not quite what I was expecting

The Rebound by Lynn Stevens was a fake relationship, unrequited love YA romance. Rachel and Adam agree to pretend they're in a relationship so that Rachel can stop being seen as the rebound to guys and Adam can show his ex Heather that he's over her. Rachel spent the majority of the novel arguing with herself about actually falling for Adam and having real feelings for him. This book just jumped right into them fake dating, and it was so sudden it felt like I was missing part of the story. There were a lot of Rachel's inner thoughts going back and forth about liking Adam seriously, which wasn't really shown. The time they spent together was fine, but she constantly pushed him away and Adam was kind of a doormat. All of the characters, friends and main characters, were unlikeable to some extent. I didn't connect with anyone and everyone seemed to have petty issues with others. I think the premise of the book was a good idea, it just wasn't executed too well.

*This book was sent to me in exchange for an honest review*

While the ending did have me in a pretty emotional state, I feel like the rest of the book was less than. I did not relate to our main character and didn't have any feelings towards her other than pity. I felt like the pacing of the romantic relationship was pretty good until it turned insta-love at the end. We literally know nothing about Adam even by the end. I also felt like Rachel really wanted to be a better person, but her sudden personality change at the end felt less than genuine and I doubt it would last very long. I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't do much for me. I was interested enough to make it to the end and there was a point near the end that had me in tears so I decided to bump my original 2-star rating to 3.

The plot was quite slow sometimes. I felt like the author was forcely pushing the drama between Rachel and Alex.
It was, after all, a cute romance with drawbacks to it. So, I guess I shouldn't have been that judgey towards it. I mean, it's not everyday you see a sport-related romance theme going on.
It was quite interesting to be honest.
It just had some small flaws.
