Everyday, little ones depend on big people for everything they need, from love to a warm bed; and sometimes the little ones come into our lives in unexpected ways.Evalina's Egg is a beautifully written story, with charming illustrations, of a selfless, caring, young mouse who gives her all to take in an orphaned egg and lovingly care for it, in spite of risks and struggles for herself. When her community comes around her to support her, she is enveloped in the same care as she gives her egg, and the task becomes much more do-able. This story of love, community, and sacrifice teaches us about the value of caring for one another in our need, and is sure to appeal to anyone who has ever depended on someone bigger and stronger than them. Families of all different shapes and sizes, biological, adoptive, foster, etc, and the communities that surround them will appreciate this sweet story of what it means to risk and sacrifice yourself for someone you love, and come out the other side the one who was rewarded.
Handmade mice adorn the pages of this charming story told in photographs and words. Lots of fun details in the background to discover. Cute story about taking care of others.
This little story is short and sweet. The illustrations are very thought provoking and set the stage for many meaning discussions. Anyone who is fortunate enough to interact with small children should want to have this book in their library.
This is one of the best children's books I've read in a long time. The story is fresh and interesting and the pictures are amazing. The pictures have a lot of set and add to the story. I enjoyed the book immensely. Great job.
Evalina’s quest to protect and keep an egg company is such a dear story! It fosters that when we care for others— we need to be patient and consistent— and good things will come of our efforts. I loved the photos and help from numerous friends! Simply adorable!
I liked the adorable illustrations of stuffed mice posed in different scenes. Very different and in a good way. Story is a bit wordy but message of kindness is clear.
I loved the cute illustrations but I was reading this on my Kindle app on the phone and the layout made this difficult to read. There is yellow text on a colorful background and it was rather hard on the eyes.
Only recommended for sharper eyes or larger screens.
