i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Adam and Maya. Adam is a lone wolf who was banished from his pack after his mate died and he lost the position of alpha. Adam was given money and told to leave Chicago and he moved to a small town where he was drinking his time away until he could kill himself. Maya has spent the last year travelling around and settled into town and was now working at a waitress at a bar. Maya had caught her boyfriend cheating and now she vows never to get involved with another man. When Adam stepped in to help Maya with a rude customer, she told him she could have handled it herself, but she feels drawn to Adam, even if everyone told her to stay away from him. When the customer attacked Maya, a wolf came to her rescue and saved her. Adam feels like Maya could be his future, but his brother threatens her if he doesn't stay away from her. I liked this book, i feel like Maya and Adam had a connection and i think Maya was really his mate. Good one.

Maya’s boyfriend is having sex in the next room with her best friend and roommate they call her the ice queen well Maya is going to show them all how much of an ice queen she really is. Adam is watching a waitress she’s a curvy girl and there’s an instant reaction in Adam then a loudmouth guy starts harassing the waitress so Adam steps in but the waitress said that it’s fine let him go so Adam did. It’s closing time Adam goes outside the guy that was harassing Maya the waitress is there so Adam waits in the shadows for Maya, when Maya comes outside the guy grabs her and starts choking her so Adam shifts into his wolf and attacks. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but this is a fantastic curvy short story with a wolf shifter this is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

A thousand dollar tip on a forty dollar bill, I'd notice that. Adam Madera's wife, Leila was murdered by his brother, Alex. He lost pack Alpha, his two daughters and his business, then was told to leave town. He was sliding downhill fast and totally depressed. Maya was the walking wounded. Michael, her last boyfriend consorts with her friend and next door neighbor, Jill. She believes the problem is her. She has been hurt so many times, she swore off men. Adam felt an instant attraction. She felt he was only one who got her. Alex returned for some closure. Do he and Adam make up? What do the Sheriff and Mayor have to do with Adam? There is a bit of conflict between Adam and the town.Interesting story but a bit stilted. The characters are not very well developed. Maya has had her heart broken more times than she can count. And Adam is in town licking his wounds until he can decide how he wants to kill himself. They are two broken hearts that were somehow destined to be one, Adam just has to figure out how to keep his "shifting" to himself. When trouble comes looking for them in the form of Adam's younger brother Alexander, Adam will do anything to keep Maya safe. This was a quick and easy read. It had some suspense, but felt like there was a little something missing. Overall, I really enjoyed this novella. And it had plenty of steam topped off with a great HEA.

His pack kicked him out but he sees something in Maya. He shouldn’t want her but he does even if the past is trying to keep them apart. I did like that Maya stood strong but then for some reason, she turned into a weak woman. I wanted to see more fight in her. I guess I was looking for the chase but it didn’t go that way. Some parts were good. Adams protectiveness and the conflict with his brother and his pack. I sex is always hot.

A love story about Maya, our curvy heroine, and Adam, our lone wolf. Maya is a strong willed woman with an unsuccessful dating history. Adam is a loner but has an eye for Maya. This is an interesting shifter story that packs a punch. Normally, this is not my type of romance but. having read her books, I knew Ms. Hazel would write it so I could enjoy it. She did not disappoint me. If you enjoy a good story about a curvy woman who recognizes her worth, you will like this book.

An absolutely compelling paranormal romance that is well written, well developed, and enjoyable. It is an engaging fast pace page-turner that is emotionally deep with danger, family drama, suspense, and twists and turns. The characters – fated mates – are likeable with sizzling and instant chemistry between them. Definitely recommended.

I once read that every person has like 3 great loves, but I do wonder how many people have soulmates, because if you get 3 great loves, then is there really such a thing as a soulmate? Adam comes to find out after losing his wife that sometimes love is love and love can come back to you.

A well-written Shifter romance story where a shifter has lost his mate and finds a new one. This story visits emotional aspects of finding love again with action and intrigue. I am looking forward to more books in this series by this author. A must read

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Maya has sworn of men after the bad experience. Adam is a shifter. The two have so much in common, they both have had bad things happen to each other.

I could not find a good page to truly sink myself into, during the beginning stages of this novel. I like to imagine it in my mind as a movie as the pages turn; however, I never could find footing to actually get that started here with this story. I would possibly like to try again later, hopefully it might be a better fit.

Oh my!!!

I truly did enjoy this one, I gave it four stars because there were a couple of trigger points for me personally.

Adam needed to find his way back to living and Maya needed to just find a path back to herself worth. Together, they found a way forward and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the pack gets up to.

Ok read

This was ok. I just felt that everything happened really fast between Adam & Maya. I didn't really feel the connection between them.
