The author had me after the first chapter. I’m a huge fan of Nelson DeMille and found the writing style similar, but less machismo- which honestly was refreshing for this genre.
Is the cover art bad? Absolutely. However, don’t judge this book by its cover; it was filled with unexpected twists, romance, and action.
There were confusing parts towards the end and a lot of grammatical errors that pained me, but overall every character pulled at my heartstrings and kept me invested.

It’s not just because I know the author - but the book had a little bit of everything suspense. Romance and short chapters. I do have to say that if the coin toss went the other way I would not have been happy. He did get me at the end. I was a little confused but then satisfied
