It’s been seven long years since my wife died. I know it’s time to move on, but I still hold on to her days before the anniversary of her tragic Christmas death. While I usually like to stay buried in my work, I am forced to go to a mandatory company dinner. I was just ready to leave when a hardworking, curvy, waitress walked by and, suddenly, I knew I’d give anything to talk to her.
Sarah Ivywood
Insults from a Navy officer named Aaron sent me rushing out for a cigarette, in the middle of my shift. Suddenly, I turn to find a sexy admiral has followed me out and asks for a date, sealing it with a hot kiss! After what I've been through with my ex-boyfriend, I can't trust so easily. But, the admiral quickly proves that he will protect me.
I like stories like this that does not look at age, size and status in life. Love that helps one to move on from a lost love to a new beginning. Ben and Sarah's story touched me. Its happened fast but because both have good and clean intentions.....the enjoyed the HEA! Thanks Autumn Summers
Protecting His Curvy Girl is the second book in Autumn Summer’s Nay SEAL and BBW Romance series. In this delightful romance, readers meet two diverse lead characters—Sarah Ivywood and Vice Admiral Benjamin Cooper. She is a plus-size beauty. She is an artist down on her luck forced to work as a waitress. Her ex-boyfriend, Jared, was a douche bag. He stole from her to get funds to buy drugs and verbally abused her. Benjamin is a widower. Since his wife died seven years ago in a tragic car accident, Benjamin became a workaholic. Destiny brings these two together through a mandatory holiday celebration dinner. Once he sees Sarah he is smitten. On a whim he asks her out on a date. Will a simple date turn into some lasting? What obstacles fall in their path? You must read this book to see what unfolds. This book was a quick and enjoyable read. I liked Ms. Summer’s character-driven plot. We get to witness Sarah and Benjamin’s romantic journey. Ms. Summer’s use of dialog was well done. The banter between Sarah and Benjamin had me smile. Her descriptive scenes drawing readers into the story making it seem as if they are first-hand witnesses. This is a delightful read and a perfect way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.
I can’t believe anyone enjoyed that! In places it wasn’t terrible, so two stars.
Firstly, this is partly my fault. As I didn’t see that it was only 52 pages long! I wouldn’t have read it if I’d known. Apart from that there weren’t many spelling mistakes on a positive note.
Can I just ask all writers something important?
If you’re going to write about women being curvy. STOP WRITING ABOUT THEM AS THOUGH THEY ARE UGLY!!! Yes us women are hard on ourselves when we’re overweight. But I would never, ever grab my belly and jiggle it. To prove to a man asking me out that I’m not worth it!! He obviously loved what he saw.
Apart from that it was ok. Pretty much what you would expect in 52 pages! He saw her, he liked her, she saw him and liked him. They went on a date and had sex on the first night and told each other that they they loved them.
I personally hate these type of books. Personal opinion I know. But it’s just pointless!
Touching, heart felt, endearing. I tested up a bit while reading.
It takes a very sensitive soul to be able to get a reader to have such strong emotions while reading a really good book. Bravo Autum I have read a few of your books and you consistently surprise me with each one. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Sometimes you just want an easy quick entertaining read and this hit the spot. It's nice to read something that isn't too deep with quick story development and characters that you know just enough about to either like or dislike. I did find some of the dialogue a bit stilted but still an enjoyable read.
Benjamin should have knocked Aaron down a notch or two for his offhanded remarks to Sarah. He probably deserved everything coming to him for being a bastard to everyone. I'm glad Ben got Sarah's painting back.
I really enjoyed Protecting His Curvy Girl: By Autumn Summers. I wouldn't change anything at all about this book I really loved it .I recommend 18 and up .
A very short, fast read. Would been a great story line if it was longer and more drawn out. You don’t really get to connect with the characters really. Ends with a HEA.
This is a fast paced read. Been and Sarah both get a second chance at love. Been had lost his wife years before. Sarah was dating a horrible person who stole one of her paintings.
Ben lost his wife several years ago at Christmas and the holiday has never been the same until he meets and falls for Sarah. This book was just ok, it didn't have the same spark the first book did in the series for me.
When Ben sees Sarah across the room somehow she makes him feel at ease. He has been lonely for a long time and feels the right time to move on is now. He just hopes Sarah gives him a chance.
Really love this storyline. Great strong characters and sporting one too. Wanted to punch Arron in the face when he made his stupid comments. Can’t wait to read the next book.
I enjoyed this story and the hope it gave that it's never too late for new beginnings. We all wish to find love, even if it is our first love or second chance at new love. Definitely will recommend and rate this five stars!
Nothing like a good curvy girl story to bring a smile to your face!! Sarah and Benjamin have a great beginning that just got better through the book. Great story with awesome characters!!
A sweet short story easily read before bedtime. Keeping in mind that it is a short story the characters do seem to fall in love very quickly, but your sense of romance will be satisfied.
