- Jake - When my dreams of going pro are crushed by a career-ending knee injury, I have to figure out how to use brains over brawn for the first time to graduate college. Enter Eden, my new Biology tutor. Except she doesn't want to be paid in the usual way. She wants me to give her relationship tutoring to attract a guy she likes. But this shy, awkward brainiac is turning out to be so much more than I expected. In the words of a scientist, will this equal exchange turn out to be more than the sum of its parts?- Eden - Hot guys don't fall for nerds like me. It's just a fact of life—one I've come to accept like gravity or thermodynamics. So even though others think Jake's interested in me, I know it's just this tutoring deal we have going on. I show him the electron transport system and he shows me how to kiss. Simple as that. There's no sense in getting my hopes up, even as I realize this ex-jock and I fit together in a way I never thought possible. Rarely does an equal exchange turn out to be more than the sum of its parts. Even when I desperately want it to.

Like I said, HE BOUGHT ANIMAL CROSSING SO THEY COULD PLAY TOGETHER. That's it- they win.
I thought that Eden could be maybe too naive at times- but then again, her dad took being overprotective to a whole new level- and some of her views about people made me go :/ but I loved the romance!!! The transition of Eden and Jake from strangers to friends (best friends!) to lovers was really nice and, I felt, very natural. They were so sweet with each other- Jake so understanding and Eden so supportive- and...IDK THEY WERE JUST SO CUTE?! I kinda hoped that Michael (the guy Eden was crushing on) was dealt with earlier than it was, but other than that I really adored their relationship.

Jake and Eden are EVERYTHING! I'm a huge fan of the Suncoast University series and First and Only did not disappoint. Winters paints her characters beautifully and thoughtfully. After having his baseball dreams derailed Jake struggles to focus on his college classes and maintaining his grades. He is in the process of reinventing himself in a sense. Where do you go when you no longer have the camaraderie of the sports team that dominated the vast majority of your life? Eden's issues are different in the minutia but generally the same as Jake's. She is book smart but not street smart. Socially awkward would be a good way to describe her. I really appreciated their struggles with personal identity. How do you present yourself to others when you don't even really know who you are yourself? This was a wonderful new adult contemporary romance, with elements of opposites attract and friends to lovers. I hate to see the series end but I think First and Only provided a fitting conclusion to the series.

Oh my sweetness! This books was by far the most sweetest and loving book I have read in awhile.
I have a special part in my heart for Eden. She reminded me so much of myself it was crazy.

The little bits we get of Eden in the first 3 books, she was such a sweet mystery. I was always wondering more about her at times like who is she really? Did something happen to her that made her the shy person she is? So to get the chance to read her story, I was excited but she broke my heart! And like I said, she reminded me of myself in so many ways it is insane.

Jake was a totally unexpected character for me. I was not thinking he was going to be this sweet and caring guys. I thought, like Samantha, that he was the typical jock. Gonna be cocky and not the nicest person to Eden because of how different she is from most girls. But to see him with her, oh man I swooned for not my normal reasons for swooning for a hero. I loved how he turned out to be.

By far my favorite book of the series!!!

This is the fourth book in the Suncoast University series by Allie Winters. This book is about two students Jake (ex-athlete) and Eden (brainiac). In first instance they seem to have nothing in common, but need each other’s help nonetheless. Along The way they see they have more in common than they thought or is it just that opposites attract? This duo is so cute and relatable that you get sucked into This story. Every book in the series I tell myself This is the cutest couple I have ever read about, but at this moment Jake and Eden are my absolute favorite. Absolutely read this series. All four books are amazing.

Heat Factor: So, so steamy it’ll be a hazard for the glasses-wearing folks

Character Chemistry: They didn’t stand a chance…just the way we like it!

Plot: Jake needs a tutor after his athletic career goes down the toilet after an injury and Eden needs to learn how to be a young adult, basically. A sexy, coming-of-age, teach-me-how-to-do-sexy-things type book that unfolds deliciously slow.

Overall: This whole series is just itching to be read in one long weekend.

This was a really nice and sweet book. I loved the whole concept of the jock being tutored by the nerd and then falling for each other. Jake is such a sweetheart and he is so caring towards Eden and he sees right through her always. He tries his best to bring her out of her shell and make her feel confident and just be the friend she needs at this point. The pace of this story was on point and I really enjoyed the writing style.

This was such a cute, sweet, wonderful love story. From Friends to more with such sweetness, it melted my heat. I was a little frustrated with Eden that she couldn’t see how amazing and beautiful she was, but I’m glad she was able to see through jakes eyes. I was swooning the whole time. I especially loved the ending “Jake” till the very end never overwhelmed Eden and that had me tearing up. I’m glad I was able to read this book is was worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Allie Winters.

Loved!

I absolutely loved this book. An opposites attract between the shy nerdy girl and the ex-baseball player. It was sweet, tender, funny and steamy when it got steamy.
