Writing is something that was a hobby for me. CSS Lewis, and JRR Tolkien is what was a major inspiration for me to love reading about fantasy, and adventure. Leading to me writing my very first book about a boy who rescued a dragon egg. More stories are to come.
This book reads just like a movie! It had me gripped from the start to the end and I can't wait to read the next one. It's an emotional roller-coaster ride that will make you not want to put the book down until it's over and even then you want more!
Ella - A captivating fantasy tale. Believable, lively characters that combine to form an exciting, twisty adventure. It's all about dragons. Should they be slayed? Or are they creatures that should be revered? A beautiful, tender story that is suitable for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
Prince Liam has rescued a dragon and is trying to save it from the world. He is the next king of his kingdom but has been framed for his father's murder, so has to escape and hide. What follows next is something you should read and find.
If you love dragons then you are going to love this story.
"Ella" is the first book of the series, 'The land of the four' put down by author Samantha Evan It's a fantasy book that revolves around the lives of protagonist prince Liam, his lady love Anna, his brother Cullen and the silvery, fire emitting dragon, Ella.
Liam, prince of Darzeli is a shy and sensitive personality who doesn't believe in his father's thought of hunting beautiful creatures to exhibit his power and honour
He decided to take the responsibility of Ella after the death of her mother because of insensitive believes of Liam's father. His sweetheart, Anna was always by his side supporting and motivating him.
It is an adventurous story of a reserved and soft-hearted prince becoming a more courageous, responsible amd valorous king who believes in peace, positivity and happiness
Author has written the story in such an intelligible manner that it grabbed my attention from the very beginning. Also, the characters were described so beautifully and in detail that i could actually imagine all of them while reading the book. The experience was nothing less than watching a fantasy movie or a play
All the emotions of love, hatred, sorrow, grief, fear and friendship were penned down very elegantly. Because of the lucid language used by the author, it was very easy to stay connected with each part of the book. Can't wait to read other books of the series too.
I would highly recommend this book if :- _You are a fantasy book lover _ You are looking for a small and happy read _You are beginner and want to start with exciting yet easy book to connect with _You love dragons, of course ;)
This book is easily available on Amazon, go check it out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The story revolves around Prince Liam and Cullen. One in line for the throne, the other barely acknowledged by the king. Royal family goes on a little hunting trip to kill a dragon. It's tradition and honor for kings to slay a dragon, something Liam's father had yet to achieve. Liam is against killing the mythical creatures, so he feels that it's his duty to steal a dragon egg and raise it, somehow. Murder has Liam fleeing the kingdom when is accused of killing his father. There's plenty of drama, action and several surprising twists that will keep you turning the pages just to see what happens next! I highly recommend this one!
A great storyline between kingdoms and one prince who had endured tragedy and loss to bring his kingdom to a new beginning. I loved the characters including the baby dragon, Ella, who assisted the protagonist, Liam, in gaining his kingdom back from an evil advisor. Look forward to reading the continuing saga of Ella and Liam.
I enjoyed this fantasy book! I love stories with dragons and kings... definitely right up my alley! Can't wait to read the next book. Great story...highly recommended!
I read this book in about three days, between my pauses at work, and taking all the chances to see what would have happened next. The book is bringing you into a magical land where you almost want to have a dragon, like Ella as your companion and friend. The tender passion between Prince Liam and Anna will transport your heart to a feeling able to overcome the struggles, betrayals, and distances.
I really enjoyed reading this and I wholeheartedly recommend it, it was impossible to put it down.
I really enjoyed this story. Prince Liam is the main character who disagrees with his father’s practice of killing dragons. He secretly safeguards a dragon egg from a slain dragon, that later becomes Ella. The story was interesting throughout and kept me turning the page. I would definitely recommend it.
Fantasy is not a genre that I normally read, so Ella was a real treat. Once started, I could not put it down and read it all in one sitting. There is a real humour, reading between the lines, and a unique writing style. Along side the fantasy is a coming of age story and maybe a contemporary tale that follows the life and death of one real English princess, recently (you know who I refer to and that is not a spoiler). Well done Sam!
This is an exciting, powerful, wonderful story, filled with action, many tense and exciting moments, romance and love, and a beautiful touch of fantasy with a magnificent, sweet dragon. Liam, who is kind, humble, loves all life, and is next in line to be king, rescues and saves a dragon egg after his father, the king, killed the baby dragon’s mother. After the dragon hatches, Liam develops a loving and protective relationship with the new dragon, who grows up and helps him, as Liam struggles to face his past and difficulties at home in hopes of bringing peace to the land and reclaim his role as rightful king. Beautiful and touching story, with moments of action, fear, tenderness, love, friendship, and sensitivity. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because it needs some editing, which would then make this truly outstanding. However, this is a wonderful story that is exciting and fun to read.
Ella by Samantha Evans is a fast-paced fantasy, filled with dragons and adventure that will keep you captivated till the end. Read on to know more about this book and about why I think you should give it a try.
𝗠𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 Ella by Samantha Evans is a fast-paced fantasy novel with a super engrossing plot. While reading this book, I never felt the urge to put down and eventually, I ended up completing in one go. In its own way, this novel addresses topics like self-doubt, friendship, family and kindness. This book is written in a fashion that makes a pleasant read for children and adults alike. However, while reading this book, at a few points I felt that a little more effort should have been done while the research. That would have made this book a terrific read.
𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 The writing style is simple so that children can follow the story. There are a few errors in the writing, which I think are corrected in the second edited version. One of the characters, Liam, narrates the story. The narrative is very plain, it's the plot that holds you onto this book. I felt that the author hurriedly finished the book.
𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 The characters are beautiful and lively. Each character exhibits strong personality traits. This book’s characters will interest you but will not stay with you after the compilation of this book, because the characters lacked description. Although Liam’s character is portrayed as a strong and kind person.
𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗳: ➊ You like fast-paced fantasy books. ➋ You are looking for a good book for your child. This is not a book for you if you like descriptive books or you look for an influential character arc.
Lastly, This book is fairly a good and engrossing read that will keep you absorbed into it. With simple language and straightforward plot, this book makes a great read for children. Ella by Samantha Evans is available on Amazon, go check it out.
"It is our choice to follow, not as a group. We should do it all on our own!! They make sure, adverse decisions that will lead to their end! Fear is an ingredient of what is needed."
Food for thought:
It is a story packed with fantasy fiction, adventure, and thrill in the plot and amusingly delightful characters. It isn't a run-of-the-mill story but is hugely engaging and successful. Neither is it an arcane read, nor is it a complex concept.
The legendary, serpent-like dragon has been a feature of stories for centuries, the star of folklore from cultures worldwide. Here is one such star- Ella.
Rarely has a character played such a range of roles, from fearsome, fire-breathing foe to the gentle giant protecting friends in danger. The storyline whisks you off to the center of the plot with a tale of mythical creatures like this fantastical installment.
The book can be appreciated by the young and the old as a testament of loyalty and friendship and familial bonds. The narrator is one of the characters named Liam and keeps you engrossed through the fast-paced narrative. There's no dull moment in the story, and you've continuously found turning pages to know what's next.
Disclaimer:
For a beginner like me who hasn't explored much of the fantasy fiction genre, this was an easy and delightful read. Dragon lovers will be ogling at the book's contents as it's filled with charm and edge. Waiting in anticipation for the sequel.
ELLA by Samantha Evans, is the fantastic story of memorable Prince Liam, his sweetheart Anna, and the talking flame-throwing and gentle, silver-winged dragon Ella, who Liam saved from birth after Liam’s father, the King, and his brother Cullen, rival in love and competitor to the throne of the Derzeli kingdom, slaughtered her dragon-mother under the evil guidance of Atlin. The age-old honor ritual of killing dragons is challenged by the young Liam, a personable, kind-hearted prince. From forts and soldiers, to citadels, myths, dark forests and caves, you are accompanying Prince Liam on his journey from defying his father and the habit of the land in killing dragons, to being wrongly accused of murder, and in his perilous journey to the enchanting lands away from his home. Liam meets new friends and reconciles with old friends who become his allies. He learns how to fight using the sword, and how to lead people. From a young adult in love, Liam grows into this brave soldier who takes risks, straightens the wrongs of his family, finds his long-lost bride Anna, and wins the battle between good and evil. I enjoyed the first book of the series. I strongly recommend reading it – a nice read, entertaining, and with characters that stick with you. Looking forward to the next three books.
The story is about a young Prince Liam who is next to become the king. The story starts with Prince Liam introducing his family and kingdom. Where he talks about his father the king, his advisor who looks 30 but was actually almost 500 years old, his younger brother Cullen, his loving mother who died.
So the story continues to a feast in honor of Liam and Cullen's mother's death anniversary. There is a family ritual that Liam's family has to follow in order to become the man, which is to slay a Dragon's head with the only sword with the Ruby attached in the middle. The ritual that has done by his family from generations and everyone expects him to support this idea but young Liam doesn't want to harm the beautiful creature.
During the feast and in his mother's memory he sat on a beach where is father joins him and invites him to the ritual to slay the Dragon. To which he agrees with the condition to bring his brother Cullen along and soon he prepared on a journey with his own agenda to save the Dragon.
The New Adventure begins from magical Dragons to family drama, from surprise company of an Anna to his brother Cullen, the story continues into an unforgettable journey of Liam and the Magical Dragon.
So will Liam slay the Dragon in order to become the man as their kingdom believe? Or he will do something unexpected?
My Take:
Ella is the 1st book in the series The Land of the Four written by Samantha Evans and I just enjoyed reading this adventurous book.
The book is filled with impressive creativity that amazed me from the very first chapter.
The characters are defined in a detailed manner, the emotions are expressed impressively done also, the storyline is adventurous and filled with magical creatures and mythologies.
The book contains adventure, love, friendship, passion, courage, and kindness which the author Samantha Evans has written beautifully.
The author Samantha Evans has penned this book in a lucid language that made the book easy to imagine and explore the adventure.
I love reading dragon stories and I feel great to add this book to my dragon story collection. So can't wait to read the next book on the series and what new adventure Samantha Evans will bring and what will happen with the rescued dragon’s egg
Overall a very magical and adventure book filled with Dragons. If you are looking for a book that will take you far away from the land to a dragon then read now.
If you love to read fantasy, this book is certainly for you. Titled as Ella, the story is actually about Prince Liam. His father and brother Cullen take pride in slaying Dragons but he thinks otherwise. He likes mystical Dragons and feels that Dragons should be saved. On one such Dragon slaying expedition he ends up saving a Dragon egg. Ella, the dragon born out of that egg becomes Liam’s friend and this begin a journey of friendship between Liam and Ella that is full of adventure. I loved the creativity of the plot. The characterisation is amazing. The author has penned down the characters with precision, spending time even on the not so important ones. The narration is flawless and you can imagine characters playing in front of you. The language is lucid and easy to comprehend. Overall the book is a treat for fantasy readers.
Prince Liam is different than most royalty in the kingdom of Derzeli. He believes honor isn’t defined by the size of the kill you bring home. Intent on proving his worth as more than a killer, he rescues a dragon egg during one of his father’s hunts.
When tragedy strikes, forcing Liam to flee from his home, he and the young dragon Ella bond in unexpected ways and meet new friends that help them along their journey. If Liam wants his kingdom and friends back, he’s going to have to do things that are very un-Liam-like.
I really enjoyed this story. It has a very solid foundation and the premise itself is wonderfully done. It does have some issues with grammar and typos, but I still really enjoyed it! The characters are well-written and rounded off; the romance is sweet and fresh. I would most definitely recommend this.
A fast-paced fairy tale, this book is filled with intrigue and adventure. It will pull you in to the story from beginning to end. Plan plenty of time to read because you will not want to put it down! Told from the perspective of Liam, son of the king, as he saves a dragon egg, naming the hatchling Ella. The story recalls a time of honor, chivalry, and grace, using beautiful words that harken us back to a bygone era. Minor curse words, making it best for older children, teens, and adults. My son was an avid reader of dragon stories, and I would have given this book to him around 11 or 12 years old.
Samantha Evans has written a tale with a powerful psychological reverberations. Prince Liam saves a baby dragon from his father, the King. Saving the dragon takes Liam on a grand adventure through citadels, forests, and unpeopled places. The enchanted lands that Liam journeys through reflects the interiority of his own emotions and psychology and so too does the dangerous dragon. The danger of the outside world is always rivaled by the treacherous nature of our own being. Liam grows strong, both inside and out, gaining skill with a sword and with wielding his own charisma as he grows into a natural leader. This is a great book filled with love and steel.
I have given this a star rating with a few qualifications. This is an entirely engaging and thoroughly enjoyable story with a moral message that makes it perfect for young adults to read. With the central storyline being one of love, family and non-violence. It put me in mind of 'The Dragon Charmer' by Douglas Hill. The plot and characters befit a fantasy of this nature and I was won over by their 'heroic journey'. The prose style is unusual but charming in itself - a stylistic twist on an alternative universe. However, it is the first book in a series and I am almost put off reading more by the numerous grammatical and punctuation errors. This storyteller has a huge potential but really needs an editor!
This is fantasy done right, with just the right amount of intrigue, action and romance to keep me turning the pages. I liked the fact that the dragon in the story could talk, which brought mind a favorite movie of mine: Dragonheart. The main character was forced to relinquish a right, but he meets new allies that help him fulfill his destiny, which happens at the epic finale. The book says it's only part 1, definitely going to book 2 immediately.
Dragons, love, murder, brotherly rivalry, survival… What’s not to like! Prince Liam rescues an orphaned dragon egg and rears baby dragon Ella into a beautiful and loyal companion. When he’s forced from his kingdom, the two go into hiding with an unlikely mentor that helps them gain the courage and truth to return. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because it needs some editing, but the story is wonderful.
I have to be honest, I didn't actually read this book - my 12yr old daughter did! So I guess I'm reviewing by proxy :)! She really enjoyed the book and in particular the relationship between Prince Liam and the dragon. My daughter is quite the little critic, so if she enjoyed this you will too. https://www.goodreads.com/review/new/...#
This fantasy story is ok! I am sorry, but this Author needs to have help from someone to read the story and correcting the grammar and construction of sentences! It is a good storyline, but so much more could have been done with different emotions to help the reader connect with the different characters!
Ella : it was my first fantasy read and i really enjoyed it... Loved the character of Prince Liam and Jon, his childhood friend. The storyline is so perfect that kept me hooked and i could not stop myself from flipping through the pages... Waiting for many more from you Samantha 😊😊
What an amazing story❤️ Liam, Anna, Ella! All well written characters with truth, love and friendship. I highly recommend the book. I can’t wait to read the number 2! Thank you for this beautiful book Samantha!
This fantastic, fast-paced fantasy novel kept me turning pages to the end. It's filled with action, thrills, and adventure. The writing is superb, and the author developed the characters so well that by the time the book was finished, they felt like old friends. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. Highly recommended!
great story!! I really enjoyed Liam's character and how he progressed in the story. I really love this writer and will continue to read her other books
