Any fan of these books will tell you that this is THE book we all have been waiting for. There were so many mysteries and hints along the way that things regarding Soni (the Muir witch who played the biggest role in all the books) were amiss. As this book developed, there were many times that I was worried and at the edge of my seat. I was thrilled to see that things worked out the way they did. The Reckoning turned out to be even better than I hoped it would be! All the hype and built up was well worth it. I can't wait to see how things move forward from this point. After all, there are 32 more highlanders whose stories are still to be told! :)

The Reckoning is upon us
In the middle of one of the worst storms to hit San Francisco, a storm that make any highlander proud. I began a literary journey- I read this book.This story came from the extraordinary imagination, heart and soul of the talented L.L.Muir. As the thunder roared and candles flickered, all through the night I read, until the dawn 's light signaled that The Reckoning was done. As I saw the fog roll in, like the highlands's mist, I came to realize that Simon and Soni 's story transcends time and space because of true love. Their kind of love lasts through the ages. To L.L.Muir, your series is a gift in and of itself- but the greatest gift is The Reckoning.

WOWOW!!! There is a TON of info in this one that I'd like to have known in book 1. LUCKILY, I skipped from book 3 to this one and got an info overload and it is GOOD!!! OMG!! I LOVE this series and author!! what a creative mind she has. The characters are so well "fleshed out"--hahahaha EVEN THE GHOSTS!! ahaha I feel like I know them ALL. I felt like I was standing out on the Moor watching the battle of Culloden. I've also learned a LOT about that horrible battle.
NOW, I am going back and reading ALL of the rest of the books in order--but you can read them in any order really, I just like to stay in order so I don't miss any, that would be a shame.
OH before I forget AGAIN, I DESPERATELY wish there was a pronunciation guide and dictionary. I CAN figure out a lot of the wording and accents but there are several words I still can't find and it is TOO MUCH EFFORT to stop reading and go to Google and see if it knows the words I need to know . It is incredibly difficult to drag myself away from the story once I dive in.
NOW, I am going back and reading ALL of the rest of the books in order--but you can read them in any order really, I just like to stay in order so I don't miss any, that would be a shame.

The Reckoning: Finally - This is the one book I’ve been waiting for. It is not a conclusion to the Culloden Ghosts series, but so much more. Muir takes you on a journey with Soni and her love Simon, Wickham (if you’re a fan) and Walter, their ongoing battle and why. Why is Soni not raised by the Muir clan? Answered. ”What About Wickham?” And where’s he been since we first read his story? Answered (maybe). What will happen with Muir Clan and the ”Ghosties?” Not Answered.
I loved this book. I think this was supposed to be Soni’s story. It was a love story full of adventure but this book gave us more Wickham. In my opinion, Wickham steals the storyline and kept me turning the pages. He appears in many of the Culloden Ghosts books but if you haven’t read his own story you really don’t know the Highlander.
I think L .L. Muir has a soft spot for the Wickham’s character and so do I. I hope there is more Wickham to come.

EXCELLENT!
Excellent doesn't come close to how good this book is! I love all of L.L. Muir 's books and this is the big cherry on the top of an enormous sundae... with a side of Pepsi.
Lose ends tied up, filling in and explains parts of previous stories (which are wonderful stories without the extra tidbits in the Reckoning) ...... plus who wouldn't love the long awaited story of Soni and Simon????
HUGE kudo's to Lesli !!!! You are an amazing woman and author! Thank you once again for bringing such warmth, light, caring and love to the pages of your stories AND sharing them with everyone!

This was an excellent story. A sitting on the edge of your seat type and that surprised me and earns 5 stars. However, I felt incomplete for some reason at the end. It wasn't due to Soni and Simon relationship but I did feel that Soni lost. I was disappointed for Wickham as well, although he wasn't. I can't explain any further without giving away the entire plot and I won't do that. In fact I never do a synopsis of book in a review as a lot of readers do. I'll tell you it's good and this one is very good. It's worth buying and reading and adding to your collection as I have and will continue to do. Looking forward to reading more of this series and seeing where it goes now.

The story of the mysterious attraction between Soni and Simon is at the center of this novel: time shifts, romance, adventure, a battle between good and evil and so many twists and turns, it's difficult to anticipate how things will turn out.
I read it as slowly as I could because I hated to leave those worlds and characters.
Uncle Wickham is revealed to be a much more complex person than the dark force he appears in prior novelettes. I am going to go back and read "What About Wickham" to learn more about his past. I am lookiing forward to Book 51.
Ms. Muir said it: The Reckoning" changes everything. It is well worth the wait. Read it and enjoy the ride!

Loved this story!
I've been reading the ghosties from the beginning, waiting not so patiently for each new story. Every time I finish one, I'm convinced it's my favorite. This one is hands down the best and while I'm sure to love all that follow, I doubt Simon McLaren can be replaced as my favorite ( and not just because we share a clan name ) :) If I could give more than 5 stars, I certainly would. I 1st read it on Kindle Unlimited but I went back and purchased it to have in my collection

The Reckoning
Wow! 🤩 and Wow! Again. I don’t know why the film makers haven’t snapped this series of Stories up. It way better than Harry Potter, and I think even better that Outlander. It’s time travel after all. These stories just get better and better, no two are the same, so I don’t think I’ll ever get to choose a favourite. With just 30 plus to go, it will be amazing to see where their individual stories take us. One thing for sure, it will be just as wonderful and exciting as these previous ones. Bring them on. Adored this.m

This the fiftieth book in the Culloden Moor series tells the background story of Soni, the witch who is freeing all 79 of the ghosts of Culloden. Soni is kidnapped by her grandfather, long believed to have died long ago. He plans to have her gift him with all her powers so he can take revenge against his twin brother, Whickham who he believed had stolen the woman he loved. Simon, who loves Soni and to whom she returns her love chooses to haunt Whickham so he can help search for Soni. All ends well which as I always say is the only correct way to end a love story.

Awesome book!!
This is a great book! I loved all the characters in it! I loved it so much that I am going to start with Book one and read all 49 of the others in a marathon! You are now officially one of my favorite authors!! I'm excited to start with the beginning book! This will be a great way to spend my time while being on "stay at home" orders due to the Covid 19 Corona Virus we are now going through in 2020! I recommend this series to any readers who like time travel stories!!

Soni has been coming to Culloden since she was a wee thing. 14 years she has spent making friends with th 79 ghosties, and not quite knowing why Simon kept calling her "Harry."
As a Muir, she has those special powers to help those 79 men (oh, and a dog!) fulfill their lives. But will she have enough time to fulfill her own, and Simon's too?
The Reckoning is a powerful piece in this litany of stories. ❤❤❤❤❤

Love this series
I've followed 5th Culloden series from the beginning as well as clan Ross. Some authors that have contributed to this project I've liked more than others but I'm a huge fan of the storyline. The biggest advise I can give another fan is to either re read Whickem before you read the reckoning. It would have allowed the storyline to flow easier if his story was fresh in my mind

A love worth waiting for
This was such a wonderful read. The course of events seemed natural and the ending was as it should be. The Reckoning focuses on Soni and Simon. The backstory is more developed here and you get to see just what waiting for Soni was like for Simon, as well as the toll on Soni. Read all the way through to the dedication as it explains about the real Soncerae. It makes that character all the more special.

Another wonderful story by this author and in this series of books. This one was longer and like many others, I plan to read again. Love the characters, the humor, the adventures. Anxious to see what happens from here, but may go back and reread a few while I anticipate the next adventure and love story. I loved all the wonderful characters! Well, not Walter, of course! This book was so well written you find yourself cheering for Soni, Simon, and Wyndham!!! So many twists and turns, and fast pace made this a truly wonderful read, and left me wanting more!

Soni & Simon
This book is a jewel. I loved learning about the history of Soni & her family. It made not only her but all her family come to life, so to speak. Prior to this I thought of Soni as just a powerful, yet tenderhearted, underaged witch with a crush on a ghost. This showed she is so much more.
This story will stay with me for a very long time. I look forward to reading the rest of the series with even more enthusiasm.

Gorgeous Highlanders, witches, time travel, evil bad guys.
This is an amazing book. There is so much happening. So much excitement and suspense. The author paints a wonderful picture for us. She brings her characters to life in away that draws us in and doesn’t let go. I have read this story three limes so far. Each time I am awed by everything she brings to life. There are places in the book that bring me to laughter or tears each time I read it.

Excellent!
I could hardly put the book down. I wanted to get to the end so I would finally understand how everything turned out but was sad that I got to the end because that was the end. I really enjoyed this book as well as all the others. I will definitely re-read the whole series.

This is the very satisfying story of Soni and Simon, and so much more. This story provides some background, explains how Soni does what she does and provides insight into Wickham and Ivy’s story. If you haven’t read the
Curse of the clan series, I highly recommend it. There is a full length book just for Wickham and Ivy (and Walter).

A delightful ghost adventure
We have been waiting for Soni's story. I'd figured out #79 was the one she favored some time ago. I am so happy that I didn't have to wait for 79 books. It was exciting and filled with action and mystery. Simon was a worthy match for her. It was interesting to learn more about the Muirs and remember past series they were in.

The Reckoning A Highlander Travel Romance book 50
This was another winner. I just love this series and this author. She writes wonderful characters and great storylines. All the different authors are great too. My favorite books are time travel and Scotland. I highly recommend all their books and this series. Diana Romano

This was one of the best stories ever written! I was laughing, crying and every other emotion in between throughout the book. L. L. Muir has the greatest imagination to bring these stories to life so well. If you want something that has everything to offer then saddle up cause this series will take you on a wild yet wonderful ride!

I can't wait to read the next book This is one of my favorite series to read.
The ghosts of Culloden Moor makes me think of my Scottish heritage and what was done not to just the Scottish but every country that England took over.

Another great story
I love this book series! Having been enthralled with all things Scotland for many years, I was finally able to visit in 2017. Now when I read about clans, places, names and myths, I think to myself... "I know that! I've been there! I've seen it!" And it makes reading these stories even more enjoyable .

How much is a life worth when it comes to love
What an amazing story. The young witch, Soni, was determined to give the ghosts at Culloden Moor a chance at life and she wanted to be with her love, who was one of the ghosts. Sacrifices had to be made by a few witches before things could happen for everyone’s benefit.

WOW....worth the wait
There was quite a bit of excitement leading up to this part of the series. I enjoyed the journey and so glad that all the rest of the ghosties didn't just disappear. So glad Soni received her HEA, love the character.

Worth the wait!
I gave up part of my Thanksgiving to start reading this long awaited story, and I was not disappointed! To finally read how Soni came about her quest was gratifying. I can’t wait to read about the remaining “ghost’s” adventures. If you haven’t read The Ghosts of Culloden Moor books, go do so now! You’ll fall in love with all of the characters, just like I did!!

Beautifully crafted storyline.
The Culloden Moor Series is beyond an addiction it is one of my favorite obsessions. The story is beautifully crafted and fraught with much excitement and sweet romance. L L Muir is immensely talented and a truly gifted storyteller!
