Rate this book
Alex, ship’s captain, and historical artifact acquisitions expert enlists the help of her crew to go on an unsanctioned mission to steal a fabled dragon egg—an artifact worth a fortune. All they need to do is fly to Xagrar, a planet infested with beastly reptiles. But Alex finds much more than the egg in the dragons’ treasure vault. She sets her sight on a beautiful ring—the perfect Christmas gift for her mother. Caught red-handed, Alex must face the wrath of the sexiest hunk she has ever laid eyes on, but she sure as hell does not want anything to do with the bossy beast, nor their gods’ crazy prophecy. All she wants is to get rid of the infernal ring and return home to Shalanka… Before the holidays are over.

Alex and her crew went to their table at The Glowing Shamrock. The crew consisted of Carmen, the engineer, Ashvira, her navigator, Leah, and her historian, Iteria, who was invaluable on their expeditions. Alex had purchased her own ship and signed a contract to work for The Shalanka Museum of Historical Space Objects as historical artifact acquisitions expert. They had been doing very well and her ship was about to be paid off. At the table next to them were 10 men, possibly pirates, talking about an invaluable dragon’s egg. Being half Fey with enhanced hearing, she listened in as they talked. Five of the pirates volunteered to steal the egg. But Alex and her crew have no assignment for the holidays and she wants to check out the egg. She convinces her crew to go with her on an unsanctioned mission to Xagrar, a planet with unintelligent over-sized lizards, to steal the legendary dragon egg. The museum would pay a fortune for it!

When they approached the planet, they scanned different animal life signs – some very large – as well as humanoid life signs. As they descended, there appeared to be a forcefield around the planet, holding them back. Alex activated the cloaking device and tried again, and this time the forcefield let them through.

Entering a large dome, which was actually a sort of museum, she finally saw the egg – but it was enormous in size and could not be carried. Instead, she found jewelry and saw a lovely gold ring with red gems that would be perfect for her mother. She picked it up and it started to enlarge and float above her head. Suddenly it dropped over her head and onto her neck, tightening like a collar so she could not remove it. Her feet would not move and she was about to try her magic when a deep voice said, “So the gods have finally decided to reveal my destined mate.”

The man was very tall. He introduced himself as Prince Daran, heir to the throne of Xagrar. He seemed amused that she was trying to steal the jewelry. She had to warn her crew, so she mind-linked with the two Fey members and told them to round up Carmen and Leah and return to the ship. In the meantime, Daran ordered the guards who arrived to take her to the dungeons. When they arrived at a castle, she heard Daran arguing with his father about the ring around her neck and the prophecy which he insisted has to be wrong! She was shoved into the throne room and met King Narado of the dragons, ruler of Xagrar, and Queen Jalania. All of them had tiny scales on their foreheads, down their temples, and on their necks. Was their DNA linked to the dragons? Did the dragons serve the royals? All she wanted now was to get the ring off her neck and go home before the holidays ended!

This was a wonderful story, incorporating Christmas into the well-paced story line. The characters were very realistic, easy to imagine as real friends, snarky and feisty when needed. I loved the dialog where Alex drove poor Daran crazy. This was a fun book that put me right in the Christmas spirit, laughing all the way!

I've read several books written by Gabriella Bradley; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This is an alien/dragon romance
It’s got action, romance, fated mates, a prophecy and a happily ever after ending. Alex and her crew hear about a fabled dragons egg on another planet that is supposed to be full of dragons, so they decide to go and try to find it. Once there they find everything is not what they were told, when Alex finds a ring, it brings about a millennia old prophecy. She is captured and told by Duran that she is his fated mate. She’s ordered to spend a month by his side, with the royal family hoping that they learn to love each other.

Part Fantasy, Part Sci-Fi, All Romance!

What happens when a thief meets a dragon prince? Sparks fly! I loved how spunky Alex was, sticking to her guns about marrying Prince Daran, until her inevitable fall into love. It’s short, it’s sweet, and it’s a great mix of fantasy and sci-fi holiday romance.

This is a mix between paranormal and aliens. Shes a captain who goes on one last run looking for the mysterious dragon egg. Things get crazy and she is stuck in more ways then one. Good read would recommend to read.

This book surprised me with how much I liked it. The story was interesting, and moved fairly quickly. (Maybe a bit too quickly towards the end.) I enjoyed the characters, and liked the world the author created.
