For a better understanding, you should read/listen the Twist Me Trilogy and the Capture Me Trilogy before this one.
This is the first boxed set in the Tormentor Mine Series, a dark romance. The book 1 (Tormentor Mine), and book 2 (Obsession Mine) are included in this set. Peter and Sara's story is suspenseful, captivating, intriguing and fast-paced. Peter is an intriguing character, dark, possessive, and dominant. His past is heartbreaking. Sara is a beautiful and strong character. Each story ended with a cliffhanger. Sebastian York and Tracy Marks did an outstanding job with the narration. Now, I can't wait for the next boxed set in this amazing Series.
The interconnected Series reading order: I love Julian, Lucas, and Peter's stories! 1) The Twist Me Trilogy (Julian and Nora's story) 2) The Capture Me Trilogy (Lucas and Yulia's story) 3) The Tormentor Mine Series (Peter and Sara's story)
What's better than having the Tormentor Mine individual books? Having them in a bundle. Thank you Anna Zaires, you continually surprise and spoil your fans.
Peter and Sara are the stars of this series. I should say Peter, Sara and Peter's inner dialogue. Peter is without a doubt one of my favorite characters ever and his inner dialogue is absolutely hilarious.
But I certainly do not want to sell Sara short, Sara is fascinating, interesting and compelling in her own right. And when you put the two of them together, you get the Tormentor Mine Series. A freaking fabulous five star series.
Well I am clearly in the minority on this read and am honest enough to admit this isn't my style of read. There are parts of this that I find really good and worth the read but other parts that clearly mess with me on all kinds of levels to the point that I found myself skimming lots of the second book. The action is good as well as the story of the guy and his team but when it gets to the crazy of their "relationship", the obsession and the wrongness of everything he did to "possess" her and justify his actions I came to a hard no. And her going back and forth all of their repetitive inner dialogue going over and over why they couldn't and why they could and the wrongness of it all. The back and forth made me tired it didn't make me want more for them or even care I just wanted it done. That's when I realized it wasn't for me. Then to find that at the end of these two books I still had to endure more to find one of them had come to their senses. Nope no more for me. As I said when I began my tyrant this isn't a bad book it's just not for me.
This series is one of those rare ones which I am gonna give a 5 stars. It has become my own obsession since the last couple of months. There is absolutely no fault that I can find with this entire series. I spent sleepless nights completing the four books. Peter Sokolov is my favorite hero in the entire Twist Me- Capture Me- Obsession Mine series. There is absolutely nothing wishy washy about his character. He wasn't driven by lust like Julian in Twist Me neither was he consumed by revenge like Lukas in Capture Me. He was very clear about his feelings for Sara right from the start. I've read reviews where people are slamming the hero for capturing a doctor, but, guys! there are people like that in real life too. I thought it was very realistic that Sara took so long to actually admit to herself that she did indeed love Peter. I wish the author had written a piece about Sara visiting her parents' after everything was said and done. I recommend this story to every lover of Action-Thriller- Romance genre. Oh.... and lots and lots of sex!
Not sure what to write for this review. My feelings for it are as complicated as plot in both books.
I devoured the first book and was so pulled in I couldn’t put it down. Peter is such a twist and it’s so odd how his feelings for Sara came around. His life has been so devastating that I can see how his feelings get twisted into obsession with her. I really think he truly loves her and he really cares for her. He does force his will on her, but he only knows one way to get what he wants. I liked Sara at first, then she just got very annoying. Yes her feelings are twisted up to about Peter. I understand that and maybe my thinking is off, but come on get over yourself! You worry about his safety and if he is coming back or not, moan about being alone yet you tell him you hate him and call his a monster.
By the time I started the second book I was so put of with Sara I was starting not to want to read anymore of the book. She realizes she has feelings for him, but then is plotting to escape. Like her life was so much better when Peter wasn’t there. Like she wasn’t having problems with her marriage and all she did was work, yeah great life. Peter took care of her and gave her some meaning. Ugh I get so frustrated with it all. Maybe my thinking is off because Peter did go along it all wrong but I think of the motivation behind it all and I just can’t hate him. Like Lucas said to Yulia. Can’t you see how he looks at her?
I don’t think I can last another two books with Sara and her back and forth. I just want to choke her and get it over with. So I just might pass on the rest that seems like a huge circle jerk and waste of time.
Well this was an interesting one. We have Sarah who is tortured by her husband's killer (technically he wasn't at the time.. hence him torturing her to get his whereabouts) who eventually falls for her in an obsessive, twisted infatuated way. They develop a bizarre relationship with their sexual chemistry tipping off the scale. Sarah is mainly in denial and doesn't want to admit her feelings for Peter whose behaviour is possessive and domineering. My heart breaks when you hear about Peter's childhood and then what happened to his family.. it's no wonder the man is a killing machine!
The cat and mouse chase they have with passionate sex in between when she's not running and he's not chasing is palpable. I can't believe there are two more books in this.. I've been told to read the twist me trilogy first so I'll switch to that. These books were good enough for me to switch no questions ask.
I have to admit intially in this series I found it odd that a woman would sleep, eat and generally hang out with her husband's killer. But as the story progresses you realise that not everything was as it seems with her husband.. would that lead me to sleep with his killer? Probably not, but then if the chemistry is as electric and primal as theirs then you never know!!
Well this book got me out of my reading slump! I’ve never read this author before and it was a freebie from another author.
Wow! Fast paced and intense. Twisted. I guess even the most evil of criminals can still fall in love. Killing, obsession, stalking, kidnapping. All of this with friends who have your back and a woman who is truly good. She’s the light to his dark. She’s brings in life and he takes it away. He makes no apologies for it but he cherishes the very ground she walks on. She’s his no matter how he has to accomplish it.
It’s so confusing to find yourself succumbing to the man who murdered your husband, but there’s something undeniable about him. He takes care of everything, provides for her every need. But she’s lost everything. How can one find balance in this?
This book held my interest from page one to the very end and I’ve already ordered books three and four. I’m addicted to Peter and Sadie.
I know this is a bundle of the first two stories of the series and that there is more to come.
I just .... don't care.
Tormentor Mine ended on a cliffhanger that demanded my attention. But Obsession Mine's cliffhanger was just eh.
Sara is pretty annoying with her indecision but it's Peter's indecision that really made this a no go for me. I'm not particularly interested in reading about how a hardened fugitive can't handle the unhappiness of the woman he stole. It just doesn't fit the story. I mean, how the hell did he stay alive this long if he is so easily distracted by an obsession. Just doesn't mesh with the narrative of him being a badass criminal. She clearly is a weakness and impairs his judgment. Why is he so okay with it?
I get the whole "he wanted her so he took her" idea but now what? What is supposed to make me care?
I don't know but I'm disappointed that this was a dud for me.

4*Personally this book held my attention through alternating POV’s of Sara and Peter. A few things did bother me that Peter did so read the TW…I tend to skim these parts when I’m reading them in a book. I like this author’s writing style and know this one really tops obsession compared to others I’ve read. This combo is 1-2 and overall while the writing kept me reading,I felt the plot was repetitive. We’re waiting to see what happens with these two and there’s two more books before we get their ending. Their issues are the same which did got old and mainly why I knocked off a star. I didn’t realize I should read Twist Me/Capture Me before this series which I also have so stopping to start those then will finish out this one.
My first read by this author and it won't be my last. These two books captured me from the first page, destruction of lives and vengeance being sought. Peter is finishing a list of people that killed his family and he confronts Sara one night to get information on her husband. His fascination begins and the weave of her destruction begins. "We live in a world of contrasts, not absolutes." It's a long read but utterly fascinating. There is a cliffhanger so you need to keep reading, which I will do.
While this was indeed a twisted, suspenseful, even arousing at times, I really had a hard time with the back and forth turmoil and indecisive nature of both Peter and Sara. Much of the books could've been cut out, lots of inner dialog not needed. Then, to get to the end only to find out I must purchase books 3 and 4 as it stops suddenly. I'm a little disappointed.
If you love sexy black romances, this bundle is for you! My favorite from Anna Zaire. Anger, passion, fear, hatred, tenderness, confusion, sorrow, so many emotions so well described in Peter and Anna. Their journey is full of intrigue and twists, the pace is sustained but not speeded and the dialogues interesting and full of (black) humor.
I don't know what to say about this book but WOW. Peter is such a dark character and Sara is his kryptonite. At times i love these two together and other times i wish Peter would let Sara go. I can't see this story having a HEA but i hope it does.
Audible Escapes borrow. Audiobook review. Dual POV. Great story (5 stars), terrible narration (1 star for TM).
This is the first book narrated by Tracy Marks I've borrowed, her robotic tones and weird pace completely ruin this as an audiobook. Not worth purchasing, sorry. JP
Very torn on this taboo romance 2 books in one bundle. Nonetheless l gobbled it up in 4 days and nights and immediately bought the 2 books bundle continuation. Blame it on my infatuation with the author's latest book, Wall Street Titan. Despite me not liking millionaire romance tropes.
J'ai commencé la lecture de ce livre juste parce que le personage principal avait le même nom que moi. Est-ce que c'était une raison valable ? Franchement oui, j'ai aimé.
