There was a lot to like about this story. Billy managed to drag himself up from the gutters of life with a lot of love and encouragement, only to end up worse than he started. I really felt for him in places and other times I wanted to shake him. Wrong decisions with relationships right through out. Sometimes uncomfortably so. My one disappointment with the book was so many parts of his life were glossed over and missing.

As I pondered this book, I realized that so many of the situations were the result of infidelity. It is not a victimless act. Billy was faced with one life challenge after another. A lesser person would have checked out but he persevered. God does not give you more than you can handle.
