Yikes! After reading Brock and Lily’s story (which was drama free and almost too sweet!) I wasn’t prepared for Mason and Blair.
Blair is having a rough time adjusting to her best friend’s OTT happiness. In the face of her own broken heart, she’s not really in the right head space to deal with any more drama. Definitely could have done without witnessing a drug deal right outside the hospital. Blabbing to her friend doesn’t help when it brings Mason to her doorstep.
She might need help but she’s not convinced Mason is the answer. The guy charmed her in less than 3 dates and while she was falling head over heels, Mason apparently wasn’t. Not when he made it so obvious that she was just one of many fish in the sea. Seeing him disregard her so completely on their last date Blair lashes out to protect herself. And now she’s supposed to trust he’ll keep her safe? Yeah …
I had a few problems with the way this one was executed.
As a second chance romance, I needed some closure and expected both Blair and Mason to confront their past mistakes – Blair’s OTT aggression because of her hurt feelings and Mason’s complete lack of understanding and obliviousness to said feelings. They both just ended up brushing all the hurt and anger aside with nothing really resolved.
I also didn’t really like how Blair was portrayed as the bratty and overly dramatic one or that Mason didn’t show any regret over how things ended between them.
And even Lily, Blair’s supposed best friend didn’t seem to have her back.
Call me insane but I’d be pretty hurt and pissed off if the guy I’m on a date with flirts with another woman. I don’t care if it’s date #1 or date #100. It’s just common curtesy that you don’t pursue other women in front of your date. Just. No.
9/10 times, I side with the heroine when I read romance and although I understand Blair completely, I kind of hated the fact that she so easily caves to Mason. He doesn’t apologize – let alone grovel! – and instead of pursuing her, Blair is the first one to make a move and reach for that second chance *smh*
I think this one was my least favorite of the series. Not even happy Blair could save this one. It just seemed too easy how she accepts his complete about face. With his track record and no sign of remorse or regret, I wasn’t convinced he’s actually be a one woman man from here on out. #sorryblair

I’d written Blair off as a lost cause. Who needed that kind of drama?

This i s a fantastic book! I couldn't put it down. I love this latest book in the Bourne Bodyguards series. I love reading anything by Mandy Morgan.
Blair's life is a mess. She is not dealing with things well. After she saw something bad at the hospital. She has to turn to Bourne Protective Services and Mason. Mason is a player and she went out with him a couple of times. They now have to be in close quarters. Will he be able to keep her safe?

I enjoyed reading this book from beginning to the end. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly.

Will he ever be able to dislodge his foot from his mouth around her
Mason is a man that just cannot stop his mouth from opening before he engages his brain..........or maybe it is below the belt brain that keeps stepping out first. We first met Mason in the previous book, Brock, as he is Brock's second in command at the Bourne Protective Services (BPS). He is a total womanizer and we found that out when he hooked up with Lily's best friend/roommate/co-worker Blair. Things did not last beyond a few dates as he just could not help himself from chatting up a brunette one night when he was out with Blair. She did not take it so well, as she secretly liked him a lot and they did connect and get along, and since then has really been down and out instead of her usual bubbly and loving self.
However, due to something she saw, and someone who saw her, she is in need of some protection and is told by Lily to go and see Brock. She is okay with that just as long as she does not have to deal with Mason at all. The only problem is that he is the only one available who can watch over her, which she is just not having anything to do with. But she just may need more help than she ever imagined, but only if Mason can stop putting his foot completely in his mouth every time he opens it around her.
This is a fun and fast-paced short story with drama, danger, one very stupid man, one firecracker woman and a lot of heat. Mason and Blair are like oil and vinegar. They do not mix but once you shake them up a lot they blend together really well. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, Hunter, to see what he and Amelia's story is going to be about.

Story: 3/5 stars. Even for an instant love story, they go from disliking each other to love in too quickly. Chapters 1–8, they don’t like each other. Chapter 9 they’re having sex. Chapter 11 it’s HEA.
Heat level: 2/5 stars.

Blair sees something she shouldn’t have now she has no choice but to turn to the one man she never wanted to see again. Mason is a womanizer and hurt Blair but now he has no choice but to protect her. Will these 2 get over the hurt before something happens to Blair? This book was really good. I loved the cameos by Lily and Brock from book 1. I loved how they both changed for the other person. Sometimes you need a little push to find what’s been in front of you all along. I am really enjoying this series and can’t wait for Hunter’s book. This book was super steamy and had a hint of suspense. I highly recommend this series.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Bourne Bodyguards series. In this book, Mason is asked to protect Blair after she witnesses a man being dumped behind the hospital where she works and is threatened not to say anything. Blair and Mason dated a few times, but Blair thought Mason will never give up his playboy ways, so she doesn't want anything to do with him. Mason regrets what happened with Blair, but he vows to protect her, even if she doesn't want him to. I liked this quick story. I liked how Mason was protective of Blair and still wanted her safe. I think Blair hated that she still had feelings for Mason. Good one.

I really enjoyed this book. This was from a new to me author. I The characters were great and I enjoyed the story. Mason and Blair were awesome. Enjoyed Lily and Brock as well. I will have to look at the authors other works. There is angst, lots of feels and steam. Loved the happy ever after. Definitely recommend reading this book.

A compelling book two in the Bourne Bodyguards series! The story line is well-developed, emotionally deep, well written, and relatable. There are twists and turns, suspense, danger, and more that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Amazing and strong characters with off the charts chemistry between them. Definitely recommended!

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Blair has the hots for Mason, Mason is a womanizer, he went out with Blair a few times and while out with her he chats up another female. Blair needs protection but does not want Mason to do it. Hot and steamy with emotions that makes you want more.

Wow...where do I start? Garbage. I haven't read a book that bad in a long time. He is a man whore through the WHOLE book until the end when she out of the blue after hating him the whole time, tells him she loves him. Then he's all like "I love you my heart". This was not too long after he went to t he bar to bang some chick. Just wow. I think I will shelf this author.

Sweet hard head romance
I have to say this...Blair is an idiot! I wanted to smack her so hard. She made some very stupid decisions in this book. Mason was an idiot for looking at other girls and talking to them when he was on a date with Blair. The ending made me like them both again.

Connection between h & H was forced and rushed to the end. And Blair, jeez what a bitchy & selfish h. Lily from Book 1 was only slightly better so I gave this one a go but shouldn't have. Not bothering with book 3 or 4.

I suspected Blair was in love with Mason, that's why she was so hurt by him flirting with other women. Mason was just fighting how Blair made him feel. She was crazy to go out without Mason, knowing someone was threatening her life.

I liked this book as it was the exactly kind of sweet, small book I was looking for. I just wished they had a proper patch up conversation. Otherwise I enjoyed the book thoroughly.

This well-written standalone love story has wonderfully well-crafted multi-dimensional characters. The stories are well-crafted to take you away and let you visit with these characters as they find love while feeling all their great emotions. A must read
