I read this biography shortly after hearing General Powell speak in person. I was so impressed with him as he was speaking, and became more impressed with him as I read about his childhood, young adult life, and his personal and professional accomplishments as an adult. I rarely use the term "hero," but I consider General Colin Powell to be a modern-day hero. This book is an excellent read for any child (probably 9 or 10 and older), young adult, or adult.
