More history than stories

What I mean is, the book spends a lot of time detailed the events that lead to the beginning of WWII and then the Holocaust. The survivor stories were short and didn’t have as much detail as I would have liked to hear. Afterwards, the book detailed what happened to the survivors as a whole. I found this interesting because it contained information I didn’t know. I wish there were more tales of survivors.

An account of the different aspects of the war including the allies beach landings, which I found very interesting. The main body of the book is heart breaking, it gives you truth and facts as they are with regards to the Holocaust and of the time when it occured.

It was not what I expected and I think that was reflected in more scoring. It was more like a text book read. It went into the back story of Hitler. I thought it would be only survivor stories.
