Después de su caso en aquel pequeño pueblo, Blacksad se va a hacia las Vegas para cumplir la promesa que le hizo a un amigo. A su vuelta se encuentra con un antiguo compañero y profesor, Otto Liebber, el cual se ha convertido en un defensor de la energía atómica. Junto a él se encuentra una serie de compañeros intelectuales de izquierdas que se hacen llamar “los doce apóstoles”. Cuando asesinan a otro de los apóstoles , Blacksad decide investigar el suceso.
Sinceramente , en comparación con el tomo anterior, éste se queda un poco atrás. Sin embargo, he de decir que la historia me parece bastante buena por no decir de las reflexiones de algunos de los personajes. Además el dibujo cada vez es mejor. De verdad quiero seguir leyendo cosas de estos autores.

En esta ocasión la aventura de blacksad se ambienta en los EEUU de la época de McCarthy y su caza de brujas... seguimos la pista de un grupo de personajes relacionados con el mundo del arte y la literatura que se ven perseguidos por sospechas de comunismo, con la amenaza nuclear como telón de fondo.

Докато издадеш последните томове, току виж читателската аудитория, която се е запалила по първите вече е надраснала въпросното четиво или нещо друго е грабнало вниманието й. „Студио Арт Лайн” пуснаха „Блексед 1: Някъде сред сенките” рпез далечната 2007 година. Чакахме почти десетилетие за „Блексед 2: Арктическа нация”. Днес, близо 13 години след дебюта на детектив Джон Блексед у нас, третият му случай най-накрая е на български. Има ли някой, който да го е забравил? На някого да му е минало времето за ноар комикси с говорещи животни? Blacksad maceraları bildiğimiz tatta devam ediyor. Çizimler şahane (bu ciltte de bazı karelerde netlik sorunu olduğunu düşünüyorum… yerli baskılarda bu az çok oluyor sanki)
Bu defa nükleer yarışın olduğu zamanlara gidiyoruz. Komünistler, Rusya, ulusalcı Amerikalılar… Yine tarihi gerçeklere kurgusal atıfların sağlam olduğu bir hikaye. Öyle ki okurken aklıma ikinci savaş sonrası Avrupa’sından muhtelif “değerli” insanların geçmişlerine pek de özenle bakılmadan pragmatik şekilde Birleşik Devletlerce devşirilmesini hatırlıyorum. Nazi mi? Suça iştirak etmiş mi? Fark etmez. İşimize yararsa tamamdır. Etik tarafı tartışmalara açık ama somut sonuçlar verdiği kesin. Aklıma Reinhard Gehlen, Operation Paperclip gibi bazı anahtar kelimeler geliyor.
Konun gerçeklere teması falan tamam ama yine yoğun bir konu yeterince derinleşmeden başlayıp bitiyor. Belli bir genel kültürle akışa kapılmak mümkün fakat biraz daha hacim kazandırarak derinlik katılabileceğine dair fikrim bir kez daha pekişiyor. Seri sanatıyla ve farklılığıyla benim için özel. Okumaya devam.

Доста бира изтече, откакто разлиствах първите две книжки Някъде сред сенките и Арктическа нация, но чакането си заслужаваше. В "Червена душа" котаракът-детектив Джон Блексед попада във вихъра на политическите интриги около кръг от интелектуалци комунисти, разследва убийство, предотвратява атентат и шпионска афера, открива любовта и всичко това на по-малко от пет дузини страници. Диас Каналес и Гуарнидо са изключителен тандем!

Firs time I've read this, I wasn't familiar with witch hunt for communist in the USA. Now after few years, it makes more sense, and I was more pulled into the story. It's sad, little bit melancholic, with good guys not winning exactly, and that's what I liked about it.

If second album was kind of light weight political commentary, this one is full blown. First half is a little bit chaotic, but ending is better. And bitter...

4 stars for the graphics, 2 stars for the story. I still love love love the visual side of these stories, the details are incredible and the graphics drive the story forward. Sadly the story in this one was paper thin. Which, given how much potential there was with communism and attitudes and past choices, is such a wasted opportunity. While there was an attempt to get more shades in a black and white story, it didn't work. And I'm bummed, because you could have gotten so much good out of the premise here.

So beautiful art, so pointless and thin story.
But the art is really gorgeous, looking at the pictures justifies buying this book.
But the story.... if the story would be even half as good as art, this would be better. Now it is just pointless.

Йес бейби, знаех си, че ако взема и другите части на Блексед няма да съжалявам! Супер приятно приключение, като в тази част са включени малко случайни прилики с известни лица, както и изконната тема за войната.

Трета история и все така класна! Развива се по времето на анти-комунистическите брожения, които отразяват същите, развили се в щатите по време на студената война. Замесенi са атомната бомба, шпионаж, и една сексапилна поетеса, на която Блексед не успява да устои. :)

At this point I'm sure that the artwork of this series will always be flawless, but the story not so much. After the phenomenal Arctic-Nation I was expecting much from the follow up. Although the story is not bad, I can't say that it was as interesting as the previous two.

Blacksad... Makus talihli dedektif kara kedi. Doğru olduğuna inandığı şeyi yapmak, masumları korumak için gerektiğinde kanunları bile hiçe sayan bir anti-kahraman. Yakışıklı, güçlü, yumrukları kadar çenesini de konuşturmayı bilen, iyi bir dedektif o. Ama bir o kadar da şanssız, bahtsız bir zavallı. Ne yaparsa yapsın sonunda hep kaybedenlerden.
Ne ilginçtir ki çizgi roman serisi de (en azından benim için) aynı çizgiyi izliyor. Serinin ilk cildini çok beğenmiş, hem çizimlerine hem ana karakterlere hem de hikâyesine vurulmuştum. İkinci cildi çizim ve karakter anlamında aynı seviyeyi korusa da hikâyesi bu sefer o kadar iyi değildi. Ne yazık ki üçüncü ciltte de benzer bir durum yaşandı kendi adıma.
Bu seferki hikâyeyi öncekinden bile daha az sevdim. Her şey çok hızlı ve çok karışık bir şekilde gelişiyor. Cildin ortalarına kadar ne oldu, ne bitti anlamakta güçlük çekiyorsunuz. Çok fazla karakter olması, hiçbiri doğru dürüst tanıtılmadan bir anda kendinizi hepsinin ortasında bulmanız, isimlerini bir türlü tam olarak kafanızda tutamamanız da cabası. Bazılarının aralarında bir düşmanlık olduğunu anlıyor ama sebebini bilmiyorsunuz. Blacksad ile Baykuş Profesör'ün eski dost olduğunu öğreniyor ama geçmişlerini bilmiyorsunuz. Hep böyle bir şeyleri anlamaya ramak kala okuyorsunuz sayfaları. Hani biraz daha açıklansa anlayacaksınız fakat sayfa sayısı kısıtlaması nedeniyle anlatılmadan geçilmiş çoğu şey. Çizgi romanın sonu da beni pek tatmin etmedi. Evet, yine tahmin edilmezdi. Ama ikinci ciltteki kadar iyi değildi.
Bu seferki çeviriyi de öncekilere nazaran biraz zayıf buldum. Birkaç sayfa önce birbirleriyle senli benli konuşan karakterlerin birdenbire sizli bizli oluşu; -miş'li geçmişle anlatılması gereken yerlerde -di'li geçmiş kullanılması; birkaç tane çok bariz, okuduğunuzda burada aslında böyle denmek istenmiş dedirten türden çeviri hataları ilk aklıma gelenler. Bu da zaten karışık olan hikâyeyi anlamayı daha da zorlaştırmış.
Güzel şeyler de var tabii. Blacksad'e iyice ısınıyorsunuz bu ciltte. Yaptıkları, düşünceleri sizi kendisine iyice çekiyor. Aksiyon sahneleri az ama epey doyurucu. Çizimlerse her ciltte giderek daha da muhteşem bir hâl alıyor. Bazen bazı sayfalara durup dakikalarca baktığım, kare kare bütün detayları incelediğim oldu. Çizimler kesinlikle muazzam. Dedektif Smirnov ve Sansar Weekly'yi tekrar görmek de güzeldi.
Velhasılkelam serinin en zayıf hikâyesi oldu bu cilt benim için. Yine de bunca sene sonra iyi kötü bir Blacksad macerası okuyabilmek her zamanki gibi bir nimet.

Primera lectura del año, algo sencillo para ir abriendo camino, y si además es terreno conocido, mejor todavía. Sigo con esta saga acompañando al detective John Blacksad, un minino a ratos divertido, a ratos enfadado, a menudo con malas pulgas, pero siempre interesante.
Tras acabar un caso, al bueno de John no le queda otra que buscar trabajo como puede. Y no es otro que hacer de guardaespaldas para un ricachón, al que acompaña a Las Vegas (preciosa viñeta la que hace una panorámica de la ciudad con "algo" de fondo) Mientras esta aventura sucede, se topa con un antiguo conocido, el profesor Otto Liebber. Y mientras están poniéndose al día...todo se va al traste como no puede ser de otra manera.
Para no desvelar mucho, decir que me ha gustado mucho la trama, y la mezcla de géneros. Además hay nuevos personajes (faltaría más, sino poco podemos rascar) que son muy interesantes, y que creo que saldrán de nuevo en el futuro, o eso espero. Y si bien la trama puede variar un poco, la forma de escribir sigue siendo muy buena, como también lo es el dibujo. No por decirlo más me cansaré: el arte de estos tomos es soberbio, no le veo ningún fallo ni cosa que no me guste. Me encantaría tener alguna página a tamaño grande para decorar la casa.
Sin ánimo de parecer un fanboy, recomiendo la lectura de estos cómics a todo aquel que le guste el género negro, aunque no le gusten los cómics. Seguro que nadie se arrepiente.

Blacksad: Red Soul is written by Juan Díaz Canales and illustrated by Juanjo Guarnido. It was originally published as Blacksad 3, Âme rouge by Europe Comics.
Facing financial and workplace hardships, Blacksad finds himself work as a bodyguard and confidant to a wealthy businessman. A chance encounter at a science convention puts him back in touch with an old friend, scientist Otto Lieber. When fellow scientists around Otto start dying, Blacksad starts to investigate in order to protect his friend's life.
From the beginning of this book, I wouldn't have imagined that the book would take the story developments it does. All of the Blacksad comics revolve around a dark story, but this is the darkest explored so far. The art continues to be absolutely beautiful.

J'ai adoré ce troisième tome, les personnages sont toujours aussi complexes, les dessins magnifiques.
On en prend pas de pincettes avec nous, les histoires même si elles ne sont pas approfondies (c'est une bd), traites de sujets durs, c'est aussi sombre que les dessins et à la fois tout aussi intense et profond.

Trzeci tom cyklu o kocie, który zawsze pakuje się w kłopoty, często za sprawą namiętności lub sentymentów. Tu mamy bitników i komunistów vs nacjonalistycznych polityków rozpoczynających „polowanie na czarownice”, ukrywających się nazistow i konflikt nuklearny w tle, do tego dużo jazzu i dymu, jak zwykle. Świetna jest ta seria, naprawdę klimatyczna i konsekwentna. Nie czytam tych tomów w kolejności, ale nie ma to znaczenia.

Weer een prachtige graphic novel van tekenaar Juanjo Guarnido en schrijver Juan Díaz Canales. Het verhaal volgt detective John Blacksad in de Koude Oorlog, waar hij verstrikt raakt in corruptie en politieke intriges.

It’s been a long time since I actually felt stupid for not reading a book sooner, I genuinely feel that about Blacksad.
The art is as beautiful as ever and the story for the most part is genius but I found the storytelling kind of fell apart in the last 10 pages, the way you see the end but have to wait for Blacksad to explain to you what took place in those pages seriously took me out of the experience, for that I’d say this is a 4.5/5 instead of a perfect mark.

Ψυχροπολεμικό το κλίμα στο τρίτο Μπλάκσαντ, ξεφεύγει από το νουάρ του πρώτου και το κοινωνικό του δεύτερου. Θυμόμουν την ιστορία από παλιά αν και μου διέφευγαν κάποια κομμάτια. Το σενάριο δεμένο χωρίς πάλι να έχει αυτό το κάτι που θα σε κάνει να το πεις αριστούργημα. Παρόλα αυτά η σειρά συνεχίζει στο σύνολο της να παραμένει εξαιρετική.

The plot is a bit thin, it deserved way more than the fifty something pages, particularly given the rich historical background of this episode. Nevertheless, the art is flawless as usual and I cannot help to be drawn to this fantastic zoo-noir world over and over again.
