Al inicio me estaba gustando, pero después fue muy meh. No termine de conectar con Marzia y Sawyer....

This first novel from Selina is a tale of a young woman, Marzia, who can't seem to catch a break until she encounters Sawyer. Their relationship is slow to catch but their desire for one another is ever present. The ending feels a little forced or maybe it is too abridged...I can't really put my finger on it. Overall, I did enjoy the story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Interesting underlying storyline accompanies this “romance”. An intriguing story.

Bien, soy arenosa. No me culpen.
Es un libro con temática BDSM y todo va bien... hasta que no conectas con nadie.
La protagonista es Marzia alias Kitty. Bailarina de cabaret y luego comprada en una subasta por Sawyer, un "papi rico méteme tu bollo" que babea por ella. Bien, suena interesante y te dices: "¿qué mejor historia que aquella donde un hombre compra un orificio para llenar?", pero entonces... nada.
O sea, si pasó pero no sentí nada.
El protagonista, Sawyer es una especie de mafioso regenerado que ahora es buena gente, o así entendí yo (no sé entiende muy bien que negocios tiene), y se obsesiona con Marzia y todo eso. Ya saben como es, el wey la acosa, pero como es millonario y está bueno todo pasa colado.
Algo así como 50 sombras, pero el tipo si está dispuesto a abrir su corazón (también tiene un cuarto de juegos¡QUE SORPRESA! 🙄).
Hay mucha obsesión, lloradera, pasión por el baile y todas esas cosas que amas, pero que cuando empiezas no lo soportas, o sea, te mientes a ti misma.
Al principio piensas que es una historia donde ambos se enamoran y viven felices para siempre, pero entonces se revela el secreto y ahora Sawyer es el malo y ella se va corriendo con el dinero a punto de llegar a la cuenta.

La cosa es que... solo estoy balbuceando y ¿saben qué? Así sentí todo el libro: balbuceo intenso donde no se entiende un carajo por qué ella anda tan ofendida con él.
Primera lectura navideña y me sentí como cuando vi Clifford y no encontré nada navideño. La decepción hermano.
Y ojo, si creen que ando tóxica no quieren verme luego de tres lecturas malas.
Mi nuevo lema para navidad: "La arena caerá sobre todo aquello que me disguste".
Ahí se ven.

This is an excellent book that is brilliantly written. The story revolves around aspiring, self taught, ballet dancer Marzia who spends her nights performing at a strip club as ‘Kitty’ and her days going for audition after audition. Marzia never had the money for dancing lessons due to an unhappy childhood background of foster care. A naturally gifted dancer, she decides that an ‘auction’ for a night with her will provide her with much needed funds. Sawyer runs London. Not only does he have genuine, boardroom appropriate businesses, he started off much shadier and anyone in London that has touched the seedier side of life, knows and respects his name and reputation. As a very busy man, with a fickle personality with regards to lovers, Sawyer only has time for ‘pets’, women who submit to him for a period of 24 days for a large amount of money. He’s sadistic and wicked with his very own playroom for their punishments, and promises them nothing. But they never want to leave when their time is up and he’s already looking for his next pet. He uses the ‘auction’ services from time to time when he’s been unable to find anyone to his liking. He first spots Kitty performing her striptease and realises that he would very much like to make her his next pet. When he sees her name listed in the next auction, he knows he cannot lose something he so desperately wants to make his for a while....
Dark and erotic with a brilliant plot running throughout and excellent characters, this is a must read to put on your naughty list for Christmas.

This story started off slow to me but it got fast at the right time when I was going to call it quits. The female MC (Marzia/Kitty) loves dancing and had a rough childhood. She taught herself with no professional training. She goes and audition for different productions but get looked over time and time again. I love that she stayed true about her dancing even though she's a popular stripper which I'm not sure if she hates or loves. She ended up with alot of debt so her choices in life is due to those debts. When the male MC, Sawyer "bought" Marzia until Christmas things finally gets interesting. He's a baddddd and powerful man but I could see he has a different side that's not all awful. He toys with Marzia for weeks not giving her much time and she begins to miss and care for him. Once they get together (when and where he wants) everything heats up which shows their feelings for each other. The catalyst happens towards the end and I felt sorry for the couple but they worked things out and finally found their HEA. It was an interesting love story and I'm glad I decided to finish it until the end.

I went into this story blindly, I haven’t read any of Selina’s works before and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a D/s relationship, but the D is very kind to say the least. The story kept me interested and the steam - oh my, the scenes that she wrote will definitely warm up your kindle. This story is somewhat short, but I really did enjoy it.

This was a Great Read, though it did feel a bit rushed in a few aspects and also the ‘depth-ness’ that you get when you read a scene or a character wasn’t as ‘deep’ either, so the overall impact of the book wasn’t as strong as I would’ve liked. Like Skimming over water, rather than actually diving into it to see the real details beneath.
The ending to me did feel a tad abrupt as well. Even though it is good(!) don’t get me wrong, it’s just you kinda want to savor the ending before you close the book and it felt more like someone suddenly hit the breaks which jarred you forward in your seat and then that’s its. I wish that it continued JUST a bit longer to satisfy the reader. :)
I Look forward to reading more works from this Author :)

Amazing story! Selina Westbrook book was entertaining from start to finish! Didn’t want to put the book down! And this is her first time writing a book, well I am a fan! The book is about a foster girls dream of being a ballerina dancer but life’s unfairness with her foster mom theft of money loaned with heavy interest from a strong underground leader will put her into more debt, running from a murder that the lowlife killed her foster mom because of the debt and into stripping to make ends meet. Without knowing one day she’ll attract a wealth billionaire that sees her at the club, and he’ll look into her, (keep an eye out for her because she caught his interest)to be his playmate for the month. When she joins the Auction, to sell herself for one day, because she needs money, that was his ticket to buy her for his playmate of the month. A lot can change in a month! Will this billionaire be her saving grace or will this finish her off.

Marzia is a passionate, self-taught dancer, without formal training. She’s had countless rejections at auditions, and ends up working at a gentlemen’s club. Her stage persona ‘Kitty’ is very popular with the clientele, and it does pay well.
One night she spots a mystery man sitting and enjoying the show in the VIP booth. He’s enamoured with her. This gentleman ends up being the very good-looking and well-off Sawyer Kline.
He has some dark secrets of his own, and through circumstances, ends up buying her at an underground auction. He has very specific requirements for this ‘Christmas captive There is a definite mutual attraction there, and sparks fly. Will this complicate things?
Without giving everything away, she gets other opportunities too… the two lead characters are incredibly likable, and extremely compatible for the most part.
I really enjoyed this story, and look forward to reading more of Selina’s work!

So this is a new author for me to read for and so far I really enjoy her work and this book.I just couldn't put it down once I started reading it mmm, mmm its sooo sizzling hoooot! Has a great storyline and great characters to read about to. This one was right up my way of reading material, because I enjoy reading all kinds of erotica! So in this read her new master tells her that he bought her from Dec 1st to Christmas morning and she has to follow all his rules.He only has two and if she doesn't follow them she doesn't get paid at the end.Its soooo sizzling hoooot between them mmm, mmm! Marzia has had a rough first 22 years of her life. She finds herself at the beginning of the novella dancing at Le Cabaret as "Kitty" the dancer that everyone comes to see. But what Marzia longs for is to professionally dance, not just strip. Enter Sawyer Kline, devilishly handsome businessman who has made so shady choices in the past. Sawyer is immediately taken by Kitty and inevitably finds a way to make her his prized possession for Christmas. But what neither one plans to find love in what was first considered a business deal. There is plenty of suspense, heat and BDSM within the pages of Selina Westbrook's first attempt at writing dark romance. I can see a long career ahead for her. Great read, I only wish that we had gotten more of a back story than what was given for the leading characters.

Wealthy and respected he was a man who took whatever he desired and Kitty was to be his lastest pet. He promised her pain and rewarded it with pleasure, Kitty soon fell under his spell. This time though was different with Kitty he also fell under her spell and when she learned the truth about him she ran as fast as she could. This was a romance that kept me interested from the beginning, the characters full of emotion and the happy ending all I could have wished for.

This was supposed to be a captive story, yet it's really about choices. Marzia is a struggling dancer who works at a strip club to survive, until she can get a respectable dancing position. Sawyer sees her one night and is in lust with her. He finds out that she's in an auction to sell herself for one night. She's shocked to find out how much she's auctioned off for. After meeting her sexy buyer, he has a proposition she can't refuse. It would be so much easier for her if she accepts his offer. What starts as a simple arrangement, turns into something else. Great, read that I quickly devoured.

What a good first book by this new author. I quite enjoyed Marzia and Sawyer's story and found it to be different than other dark books I have read recently. Marzia is a strong female character and Sawyer is an alpha male with a bad past seemingly trying to change his life for the better. My only complaint would be that I wanted to know more about both characters and would have loved for their story to go on longer. Her funds are very limited but she never gives up on her dream of becoming a ballet dancer.
Sawyer is a powerful man. But his dealings were more on the seedy side.
He goes through subs like candy.
None of them hold his interest.
Until he lays eyes on Marzia.
Both of them are about to change each other’s lives.
Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Westbrook.

I had some issues with this story. The end says she is supposed to play Odile in four weeks, but then the Epilogue is set a year later. They were eating dinner when he decided to take her out to dinner. If she was supposed to make 10% from the auction then it should've been $75K and not $15K. Lastly, she hated her foster mother, why did she stay with her, why did she care that she was dead. I get feeling guilty, but she made a big deal out of it. Lastly, they barely spent any time together, yet fell in love?

Will this couple find love or just sex? I recommend this book as it has a dark sexy plot, complex characters, secrets, suspense, and hot sizzling romance.

El libro empezó muy bien, estaba teniendo un buen desarrollo pero luego sentí que la autora apuró todo, las cosas sucedieron muy rápido, por ejemplo, el enamoramiento de los protagonistas, el conflicto respecto al tema de Margaret (madre adoptiva de Marzia), el supuesto cambió de nuestro protagonista masculino, Sawyer, él cual nunca deja claro que lo hace tan malo, el adoptar...

An enjoyable read perfect for this season of the year. Good storyline a with strong main protagonist and good secondary character adaptation. A sweet, poignant story that unites a crime lord with his soulmate. Great first book for a new author who will undoubtedly have a promising career. Began it last evening and finished it this morning without a break. I received a free copy from Booksprout and am leaving an honest and unbiased review.

GOOD Read
An intriguing read that at times had me fully engrossed and at others just going with the flow. It has emotions, ?dark on the the lighter side, crime and great chemistry. I could definitely tell it was written by a new author and I don't want to down play her work but some of it just had me rolling my eyes and had a hard time trying to find it believable. A good read and would consider reading more from this author.

A sweet bdsm romance that was written beautifully and its her first book so cant wait for more from this wonderful new author.
It was so refreshing to read a bdsm book that the male main character wasn't too much on the horrible side
This was the perfect mixture of rough and sweetness from a man into bdsm for me.

I really liked this book. I found it very easy to get pulled into this spicy and sweet read. I thought the storyline and characters were interesting. The chemistry between Marzia and Sawyer was very intense and generated lots and lots of sparks. Drama, unplanned for emotions and secrets cause tension along the way to a HEA for this couple. All together a very enjoyable book. This is my frank, freely posted review.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m glad I found her. I really enjoyed her book. Marzia is backed into a corner for money. Her dancing career isn’t going where she wants and her job at Le Cabaret leaves a lot to be desired. Sawyer Kline first sees her there. Then by accident he is given a chance to “purchase” her for thirty days. The way the relationship develops and the personalities are shown make for a heartwarming story. I will read more by this author.
