Bella My childhood was normal…until it wasn’t. My parents became involved in a lifestyle that ultimately destroyed who they were as people. Destroyed me. Now, I’m being forced to marry a man I want nothing to do with. I make the decision to take my daughter and run. But it’s not that simple. It doesn’t take him long to find us. Then, he saves us. Blake Hunter. Chains. He takes us in and protects us. But, doing so has put his whole family in danger. I’ll sacrifice whatever I must to keep my daughter and the man I’ve come to love, safe. Even if it means my life.
Chains I found her, my soul mate. Only, she’s running away from someone. My instinct is to lock her safely away in my home. But for some messed up reason, I help her fix her car so she can leave. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Now, I fight tooth and nail to gain redemption. I will protect her and her baby with my life. Her past tries to take her back, but I’m holding on with all of my strength. Arabella is mine. Her daughter is mine. God help the man trying to take them away.
Carol Dawn was born in Maysville, Kentucky, USA, under the name Carolyn Jacobs. Carol is a stay-at-home mom where she spends her days making pb&j sandwiches, picking up toys, and giving her kids more cuddles than they want.
At the young age of five, Carol received a reading medallion for reading over twenty-one books in an eight-week period. So, her literary journey began. She wrote poems, songs, short stories and read many books.
Carol has a slight (MASSIVE) obsession with alpha male/insta-love romance books. If she isn't reading about them, she's writing about them.
When she isn't writing, reading or playing mom, you will find her watching re-runs of Stargate SG1, Startrek Voyager, cooking, coloring mandalas or performing her favorite songs for her invisible audience.
This story started out with a bang and kept at a constant blaze throughout the whole book. I absolutely love when a story draws you in from the first few pages. There was no slow start or an over abundance of details, it went straight for the action. Chains and Bella make a perfect couple. Both of their characters are loveable, strong and thoughtful. The secondary characters of the Infernal Sons MC are the best. I want to be adopted by this group. I really can't wait for the rest of the series. I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down.
I forgot these were Insta love stories but other than that, I really liked chains and how he was with Bella and Sophie. The sons are turning out to be a great family with big hearts.
Extremely juvenile, badly written with a basic plot and so sickly sweet, that it's like a twelve year old girl attempted to write a biker book. Every time Chain speaks to the heroine it's all 'baby' this and baby that and baby, baby, baby, and she's all honey, honey, honey... urgh! Every time! It's really awful! Even the other men are all sickly sweet. Teenage boys have more Alpha vibes than these guys and if you want heat, there isn't any. One bedroom scene at 97% and again it's basic and filled with honeys and baby's. Cringe.
The story is not believable because no details are given. There is zero depth here and there are also too many basic grammatical errors, missing words and spelling mistakes. There's just too much badly written and juvenile text that I can't list it all, but here's a couple of examples. The red flashing sign in almost all badly written books, the character throws their head back laughing, when there's absolutely nothing funny said! The heroine is immediately thinking of a complete stranger as the father of her baby, literally after knowing him minutes. Minutes! I quote, 'I go to our daughter. No. I mean my daughter. My daughter. Lord help me'. End quote. Literally minutes after she wakes from him finding her at the side of ths road and taking her to his home. It's awful.
I finally finished it but it was so childish I even felt bad for leaving the review. It's so immaturely written and basic that it's truely one of the worst books I've read in any genre. There's nothing wrong with a sweet romance but juvenile, cheesy, cloying, sickly sweet, immature and childish are not okay. Cringe worthy. Honestly I've read better from some teenagers on wattpad. Gave 2 stars for the idea of a stranded woman with her child and Hawk with Slim sounded like it could be interesting but only if the author puts in the effort to make it more than what's here. Too basic.
I discovered Author Carol Dawn a few months ago when I read her first book "BEAR" and totally fell in insta love with the characters in that book the story line was amazing the characters Strong alpha to the max in the female characters had a bit of bite to them . I instantly sort out Carol to tell her how much I loved Bears book and how long did I have to wait for the paperback. Lol well I didn't have to wait long because I now have that paperback sitting on my book shelf amungst my favorite MC books and Authors. And now that I have just finished book two in the series I'll be adding it to my collection as well. Chains book was so good I literally slowed my reading down because I didn't want it to end. This book was about Chains and Arabella . And beautiful baby Sofia. Chains saved them in more ways then one . "Bella" brought him to his knees without even trying she was lost broken physically but was one of the strongest women he knew. As Much as I loved the story line there was a few things I wished would have been addressed in regards to Bella's Father and Mother but above all I loved the way the MC stood behind Chains and accepted Bella and baby Sofia as one of their own and how protective they were of them especially when it came to light about why Bella was on the run in the first place. I look forward to reading the next book in this series which is Slim's book and I know it's going to be just as good if not better then the two before it. I highly recommend Author Carol Dawns books .
Just like the first book, BEAR'S FOREVER, this book has the insta-love, somewhat a little bit cheesy romance going on with lots of witty banter and fun moments.
No time jumps in this book but there were certainly things that happened that only works (and mostly present) in insta-love romances. (i.e. the execution of the story line was always cut to the chase)
It worked just fine in the story though as the author has no qualms in admitting that this series, albeit an MC book, will be an insta-love romance that's overloaded woth sweetness. She didn't lie there. If that doesn't work for you, steer clear of this series.
I have to say, I love the camaraderie of the brothers of the MC club. The author managed to built a solid foundation among the characters even if this is an insta-love romance. For me, that's a plus point since MC romance in my opinion is all about the brotherhood before the romance. She also has a way to make me feel attached to the characters especially the side characters.
I can't wait for Slim and Hawk's story and the epilogue in this book has my stomach in knots for dread of what's about to happen.
Everything just happens too fast in this book. We get glimpses into what could be a really awesome story with great humor and depth, but the author continually just scratches the surface. This makes most of the story predictable, but, then, out of nowhere, in the last pages of the unrealistic, instant love romance, a virgin victim of rape and domestic violence, embraces rough sex with BDSM overtones, from her newfound, seemingly dominant boyfriend. With the trauma experienced by this woman, rough sex with a dominant man is the last thing she would desire. The flow and timing were all wrong. The ending sneak peek into the next book in the series is bound to be rife with similar issues, if this book is any indicator. These are tough issues to tackle with believability and as a psychotherapist, I found the book highly unrealistic in dealing with this type of abuse and trauma.
Wow! This series is just amazing. I loved Bear and now I am totally loving Chains! These men are something else! They are totally alpha, super protective and sweet as can be with their women. This is Chains and Arabella’s story. Arabella finds herself in a terrible situation and Chains is her savior. He helps her when she needs it, but she keeps running and finds herself in a really bad place. Chains is the man to help her find her way around the trouble. These characters are totally lovable and the story is extremely engaging. I absolutely love this series!!!! Fantastic books!!!
I have been lucky to read this as an ARC reviewer. This series is going from strength to strength and the story of Chains and Bella is no exception. The overarching story is well thought out and written well and the character interaction is intense, funny, maddening - everything you want from your MC.
There are no spoilers, but I love how these men fall, and how they are not afraid of their emotions.
This was an awesome story. Chain's has such a sweet loving side, never saw that coming. Really loved that gentle loving side of him. Chain's is what all women want in a man. Bella and Sophia will pull your heart strings. The rough road they traveled in the beginning. Really loved the little snippets of Slim. I need him him on my side. I hope this series never ends.
This book is well written and thought out. Chains and Bella shows strength, courage, love and family support through out the whole story. It is intense, maddening, funny, sad and pissed off.
There are no spoiler alerts.
I was lucky to be chosen to read this as an ARC reviewer
A Stellar Sophomore Series Installment From a Must Watch Author...
My reaction to Carol Dawn's initial Infernal Sons MC series offering was that it was a magnificent story in a promising new series. A refreshingly serious take on the typically cheesy MC romance. A shifted perspective focused on second chances at happiness, and overcoming trauma and abuse that had me falling hard for her first book, "Bear's Forever". As a result, I had high expectations for Dawn's premier follow up. And she definitely did not disappoint!
Her sophomore book of the series, "Chain's Redemption", is yet another tale of inner strength, fighting for what you believe in, keeping family safe no matter the cost, and keeping your heart and mind open no matter how many times life batters and betrays them.
Here we are presented with the story of Blake "Chains" Hunter, vice president of the Infernal Sons MC, and Arabella, a young woman running from a cult run by her father. A father determined to marry her off against her will in order to maintain the control and traditions he created within his "community", despite the fact that the man he chooses is an egregiously abusive, evil being. It is a situation that has Arabella fleeing for her life, and the life of her newborm daughter, after an unexpected intervention provides an opportunity to escape. An escape that unexpectedly leads her into the path of Chains, who after finding her and tiny Sophia Grace nearly frozen to death, vows to protect them both no matter the cost.
Here, as with Bear and Rose in the first book, is a story of insta-love-at-first-sight. An insta-everything love that immediately thrusts Arabella under the possessive protection of Chains and the Infernal Son's. And as with Rose before her, Arabella instantly becomes part of a family unlike any she has ever known. A chosen family who fights fiercely for what they love a deem theirs. What follows is a well paced, action packed tale of pursuing evil, revenge, perserverance, and both physical and emotional healing. And overall it is another wonderful story from a promising new author.
I was genuinely thrilled to see the literary growth present in this installment. Unlike the first, which was a little farfetched and choppy. This one is more grounded; the character development a bit more sophisticated and fluid.
I still found a few places throughout where the writing was a bit ruffled and unclear. And the characters themselves are still on the more simplistic side. However, unlike others that simply coast, Dawn shows dedicated improvement in her writing, producing a beautiful story overall. One that had me laughing as much as it brought tears to my eyes, and an emotional lump to my throat. The love and tender, patient care Chains gives to Arabella is heartfelt and leaves you sighing. His devotion to Sophia Grace will melt you with its pure and soulful sweetness.
Additionally, as with the first book, I truly, truly appreciate how different from the more stereotypical MC romances this book is. Choosing to focus on the love story as a whole, within the entire realm of Chain's and Arabella's world around them rather than presenting something dripping with sex scenes from start to finish as is most often seen within this subgenre. lt is most definitely worth the read, and another addition to my collection of books from authors I would read no matter what. I can't wait to see what Carol Dawn produces next :)
I love how Chains got his club name. Poor Bella has the worst parents, especially her dad that yes forms one of those hideous cults and then is willing to let the very evil creature that raped her to become his wife, but thank goodness she had a friend Noah that helped her escape after they made the doctor give her a C-section to birth Sophia Grace. Her car runs out of gas and the battery dies, but again lucky for her that Chains finds her and her daughter and takes them to his house. She gets her car and then heads to the trailer that Noah gave her directions to and sadly her rapist Jack finds her and beats her badly enough for brain surgery and he also steals the baby. Chains and his club find and rushes her to the hospital for this surgery and is temporarily blind, but the guys fly to Florida to get the baby back. The club finds out that they are being setup and realize that Jack is doing this, so Bella leaves the baby and goes back to Jack because she thinks that she is saving their club. Of course Chains heads back to Florida to get her and the cops arrest Jack. When these guys find there ONE, they love fiercely and forever. Happy reading.
I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I did. I’ve been so picky about books lately and I’ve been finding myself skimming more and more or just not finishing at all. But this book held my interest and I didn’t stop reading until I was finished. I LOVED the brothers. Their interactions were hilarious. I especially loved Trigger and Ink and I so hope they get a book. I loved Chains dedication to Bella and Sophia. I loved that Bella never felt sorry for herself (even though it would be understandable if she did). I also loved how grateful she was to Chains family.
SPOILERS.....my only complaint is that I wished she had recovered fully from her injuries. There was a great HEA, but the fact that she didn’t fully get her sight back was so tragic and unfair.
This was a great story. I couldn't put it down. Carol Dawn did a wonderful job on it. The story was very well written, the plot was strong, it was filled with many emotions. The characters were strong. Chains and Bella were perfect for each other. They were drawn to one another from the start. Their connection was strong and their chemistry was sexy and sweet. They were just great together. I enjoyed their story. Chains was very protective of the ones he loved, he'd do anything for them. I really enjoyed this story, it was great. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. I'd recommend reading Chains' Redemption and Bear's Forever, both are great stories. Thank you, Carol Dawn. Wonderful work :)
This is book 2 of the Infernal Sons. I love these books. I kinda hate that a few people seem to be focusing on the fact that the guys aren't "manly". What a horrible concept and just shows how ingrained into society it is that men cant show their emotions or they get labeled as unmanly. I love that Chains and the rest of the Infernal Sons have no problem with admitting their feelings while still being all take charge. Chains finds Bella in the middle of a blizzard and helps her and send her on her way. He cant stop thinking about her. Bella is running will Chains find her before something happens. This a short sweet story set in an MC that's more like a family then a club.
3 out of 5 stars.... good idea, loses a little umph on translation. I like the religious cult idea but outs not ever defined upon. I like the rape angle but it's not fleshed out. I like the drug angle but it's not fleshed out. I like how she tries to save theday, but it's not really thought out. And i line the blind angle but also not fleshed out. And, if i had one full complaint, for an mc romance, there's almost a lack of sexy time, just like the first book. That is a letdown for me - because i expect that any book with only 150 something pages won't have in-depth storyline but you always expect more than one sex scene at the very end of the book in an mc romance.
I am loving this series. This was Chains story. He finds a car broken down on the side if the road. There is a woman inside With a days old baby girl. They are Arabella and her daughter, Sophia Grace. He fixed the car for her and she gets back on the road. When he next sees her, she is lying unconscious having had the living daylights beaten out of her and her baby missing. Chains sets off on rescuing the baby and claiming them both. The book is full of witty humour, chemistry and insta-love. I really want to read Hawk and Slim story. The glimpse we get at the end of this book seems scary and sad. I can't wait to read it.
So while book one of this series (Bear and Rose) was a tough one to connect with, this was much easier.
Chains/Blake has the same style as his MC brothers, meaning the protective nature is at 1000%. So when Bella is broken down on the side of the road, there is no question about how this storyline is going.
The pages turned easily, and I was wrapped up in their world. I appreciate Bella's challenges and love how Rose stepped in to help.
While I was conflicted with the first book, I am certain with this one... I enjoyed the chemistry between these two and liked the story resolution. I will be continuing on with this storyline.
I have a somewhat hard time with this series so far. The men, being bikers, seem awfully whimpy. So far both books Star a man that falls for a woman at first sight. That woman goes with them, not knowing them, are protected by the MC and all live happily ever after. Very unrealistic and the men are not very manly in these series. I’ve read the first and second book and for the most part they are the same. Just a different biker and a different girl. Not much action. Hope author does better with the next one.
Chains and Bella love story! This ALPHA has found his hearts. He knows immediately that Bella and Sophia are the ones that will complete him. Even though this story is short Miss Dawn does her due diligence to wrap these stories in a way that you don't have any questions but you always want more from her. This is the 2nd book in this series and with Hawk and Slim on the way I see that Miss Dawn had a wonderful future ahead of her. I will continue to invest in your works and supporting this AMAZING author.
This is the first book I've read by Carol Dawn and OMG Blake/Chains is such an amazing guy!! His love and devotion to Bella and little Sophia was perfect. I love the dynamics between the brothers and how they became big brothers to Bella and uncles to Sophia. My heart broke for everything Bella endured at the beginning, especially when she tried to push on and keep running at the start. Her quiet strength and growth through the book was realistic and admirable. But I think the best part was Blake - he was just awesome!!
I thought the plot was extremely thin with errors. Jack said 'she was only a means to an end.' The reader never finds out what that end is. Slim says ' I made me a new one' when speaking of a tracking device, yet at the end he bemoans the fact that he never had time to make one.
The weird part the parents play never is explained and the ending with Arabella was unnecessary as it achieved and contributed absolutely nothing to the outcome.
I really liked this book. It has a lot of roller coasters and while I won’t spoil it the MC’s life goes through an intense change. The chemistry between Bella and Blake(Chains) is great and strong. There is only 2 really steamy scenes when I wish there was more but overall I really like this book. I’m looking forward to the next book based on the little sneak peak at the end. I hope it comes out soon.
So wonderful to see Slim's story start to deepen. So wonderful to see the alpha male characters' sensing Slim's vulnerability, and supporting and protecting him in the same way they do for the entire family. How we love is more important then who we love. These tough guys really value and respect Slim for who he is and how much he helps the club, he really is their little bro.
So glad I found this author! Her Infernal Sons series is delicious. The guys are sexy alphas that will melt your heart and panties 😉 Chain and Bella's story has a perfect ending. The story flows and is so interesting you can't stop reading it. If the occasional F-bomb and sex scene doesn't offend you, then this book is for you.
I was lucky enough to be an arc reader for this amazing author. Chains and Arabella’s story hits every emotion. This story gives you hot love scenes, fast packed action and gut wrenching emotional moments, you find yourself falling more in love with the other characters and the epilogue leaves you dying for more. This is a cant miss series and I hope everyone picks it up.
Omg each book get better and better!! This one had me at the prolog !!! Yes that’s how good this book is. The Author is absolutely amazing with her writing!! You honestly feel that your one of the characters and family members in the book as you go on this journey with them. I can’t wait till the next book comes out!!
